>I'm so surprised I don't say anything, I clear the bar and go to a different place
>roidtroony and his friends come in some time later and start doing squats
I thought the squat racks are multipurpose machines, the guy before me was doing pull ups there. Also I thought OHP is a normal compound exercise, it's rare but I've seen dudes do it in squat racks before. Am I supposed to go to the free weight area, and lift the 2 meter bar there from the ground? Isn't that stupid as frick? The guy is a gym employee so I did what he said.
I'm a novice lifter, can someone more experienced explain me If this is normal or what.

4 zoomers were working in at squat rack doing bicep curls today
when i came and asked them if they're warming up they all left after one set and i did my 75kg ohps there with 5 minute breaks in between always holding eye contact with those zoomers

      Anonymous

A couple zoomers were hogging the dual cable machine thing, just standing there very close to eachother and whispering sweet nothings. I went over to ask if I could work in and the dude said "oh we only have one more set left" and then they just continued to stand there blocking the machine. I wanted to shove them out of the way. The other dude just looked down and didn't say anything. What do you do in this situation? I just went to a different station and got some good reps in. Once they finished some amazingly hot thot replaced them and stayed in that station for 30 minutes. I observed her scantily clad body the entire time.

        Anonymous

why are you asking just say something and start working in
if they get mad ask them if they bought the machine themselves

          Anonymous

I'd have to shove them aside because they're are standing where I would have to stand to do a set. I don't want to start a scene by shoving around some overly sensitive zoomers.
They'd probably ban me from the gym.

Some reddit millennial was hogging both the leg extension and leg curl machine to superset them; I asked him to work in and he said no but I did anyways and he didn't do other then stand menacingly watching me do my set.

TL;DR You're just a puss puss. I'm glad you didn't get the machine you wanted. What's the purpose of building muscles if you don't even have a backbone?

Saw a fricker supersetting inside a rack in a packed gym a few weeks ago. These are the kind of people who made pillow forts as a child and got angry at their parents for cleaning up after them.

if someone is supersetting and they leave a piece of equipment just go take it

in that situation it would be easy to work in, just go on the machine that the dude is not on, I'd have done the same
in the situation I was talking about I had two zoomers each standing directly in front of either cable tower, you know the one where the two cable towers are close to eachother? so like I said, if I wanted to do what you did I'd have to push one aside or do some spastic shit like say "I don't care, I'm working in anyway now move aside"
it didn't really matter because I just moved to a different cable tower with a bench under it and had a complete workout
you might want to address your insecurities though, if it makes you feel better to belittle anonymous strangers you most likely have a very low opinion of yourself

no, I'm not going to stand there doing nothing while two zoomers occupy the space I plan on using and stare at their phones
          there was other equipment available
the way I do it is if there's something I want to use I ask "how many sets do you have left?" most times they will just leave at that question
if not I ask to work in and then they will also leave, nobody actually wants to work in, everyone is afraid of other people
third option is just go hop on a piece of equipment is available
during busy times I'm not just going to sit and wait for a particular station to become available, I have things to do in life, I am too old to sit around and wait for others

there are probably fixed weight barbells for curling that go from like 20-110 lbs. Just grab one of those and press it in the free weight area.
But the dude is obviously a psycho, if this story is real, and he should be reprimanded by his employer.
I've done OHP in the squat rack, but if it's too busy then it's kind of a dick move. Also if you're pressing over 1 plate it makes sense because you don't want to waste energy power cleaning it.
Also as a beginner you will have better results from incline press - barbell or smith machine or dumb bell. All of those are preferred to a standing OHP.

      OHP in a squat rack

Why is incline press better than standing ohp? Aren't they completely different exercise?

        Anonymous

        there's a lot of crossover
you will find if you get stronger on incline your standing barbell press will go up, also gains will be easier to make on incline for whatever reason
most beginners make very slow progress on barbell press for whatever reason
it's just not a great lift for developing strength/size
        more of a test exercise

Do you know what it means to "leave your ego at the door"? That means you. You go into the gym with your plan. Warm up with a empty bar? Primary lift with a empty bar? Feels gay? Does not matter. Go into the gym with a plan and execute it faithfully. Your plan. Do that plan. That is leaving your ego at the door, doing your business. Be polite and respect the gym. Narcissus buttholes are always going to go with the territory, they don't even notice how everyone hates them. Pity them. It's all they have. Every other aspect of their lives is often failure. Bad relationships, financial problems, career deadenders, but they have their special place at the gym. You have your plan, do that plan.

Go to a different gym. A power rack is a multipurpose piece of equipment. It can be used for bench press, squat, overhead press, RDL, rack pulls, etc.

      Anonymous

yes but squat takes priority cause of the safety bars, bench next if there is no one else in the gym to spot you

      Anonymous

Yes a rack can do all that but when an empty flat bench and another incline bench is unused, Why? It is a uncouth move. Today I was at the gym and a better trained lifter was using the bench and I asked if I could jump in. He could not have been nicer. We reloaded the bar and could have had a third lifter if needed. He didn't use collars "that's my safety" he said ...so I learned something. People need to respect the gym and the lift. It is a culture, our culture. Learn the rules. Respect the gym.

can't believe you backed down like a b***h. I occupy one of only two rack+platform combos to stand halfway between both and press, my full press routine takes like 45 minutes too because I do warm up sets, my three working sets, then accessory sets of push starts, then push presses, then finally high rep back off sets
I press actual weight though so maybe that's why no one bothers me, who knows
