At what clavicle length is gymmaxxing a waste of time? I have extremely narrow shoulders that are as wide as my hips (which are also narrow) and I feel like it would just be like putting lipstick on a pig.

    I have average clavicles and hips that are just above average. Bothered me for *years* before I did anything about it. About 2 years into it, the problem disappeared, and it could have been resolved quicker had I trained more intelligently.

    If you’re at the bottom of a pit, start climbing today. Whatever you end up with is better than where you began.

      Also, some tips: dark pants and a lighter colored top will create the illusion of a broader upper body. Avoid t-shirts until you put on some size—button ups and sweaters are your friend, as are light weight jackets in the fall and spring.

      Workout wise, I’d recommend 3-4 days a week of full body. Skip legs and *do not* listen to anyone who tells you otherwise, as you do not want to pack mass on your ass or legs—it’ll only exacerbate a bad situation. I cannot emphasize this strongly enough. Same goes for shrugs, which will only make you look more like a torpedo. Do lateral raises, upright rows, and a shoulder pressing machine.
