Luckly in the first few months of lifting when I noticed that my upper body lags behind legs.

I switched to PPL, then fricked legs and did PP x 2 a week. And now I'm doing fine on Brosplits of my own creation.

I'm kinda busy right now, so can only afford to be at the gym 3x a week.

        Chest/Side Delts/Tris
        Back/Bi/Forearms/Abs
        Shoulders/Arms

Around 8-11 sets per body part/per week. I hike or bike on rest days, when I have time.

After 3 years. Kept getting injured because I would slip up in the last set. Now I mostly do weighted calisthenics and look and feel stronger than ever

well i never got into it because i always cared only about aestethics. fit was unusable for me in 2011 since this has always been and still is to some extent a powerlifting/strength focused board.

But I think the final point was when I started digging deeper into Eugen Sandow, Steve Reeves/silver era lifters. Pretty much all of the all time greats trained with extremely light weights (despite popular belief being thats only for roiders but no roids back then) and they have arguably the best natty physiques ever made. Its also imo the only way to lift for a lifetime. You WILL injure yourself time and time again when you powershart for 10+ years. Even if you dont, the point you start going for ego/strength lifts, you will one day get fricked.

what routine can i do? im trying to do a recovery phase as ive been a power shitter since for ever.

One thing they dont tell you kids is you can blow your endocrin system out if you power shit

Remember these underaged lookism homosexuals idea of lifting is curling 5 kg dumbbells, while looking in the gym mirror, miring their own "gonial angles ".

I've been here longer than you. It's not my fault that you wasted time on being an obese pig with overgrown legs and small upper body.

    In two months I will.
    >been lifting for over 2.5 years
    >1/2/3/4+ for reps
    >relocated some months ago
    >new gym is full of powerlifters
    >fixate on form and strength only
    >barely any time to train, drop to 3-4 from 5-6 times a week
    >powerlifting works with that
    >bulked
    >lifts improved
    >relocating again in two months
At that point I'll just switch to le aesthetics. I'm enjoying whatever life brings my way and at this point it was bloatlording. I like looking big and lifting heavy, and like every gym I get used to whenever I move, I made some sweet memories in this one too.
Next year, I'll start with hypertrophy work to take advantage of my better strength, then eventually cut down.
I'm curious how this will go, I never bothered much with aesthetics and looked pretty great a single year into lifting.

Never since you can dedicate different blocks to different purposes. You can concentrate on hypertrophy for a part of the year and strength for another part. Seems pointless to just do one permanently.

Never since if I dont leave heavy every sesh I get a feeling that I didnt do shit.
I did stop doing low bar squats ages ago tho. Never realized how fricked my hips and my calves were until I started doing low bar and atg. I do a lot less weight this way yet my quads are bigger than ever and my legs feel actually strong and athletic now

Idk kind of still mess around with bench and squat from time to time to see where I'm at. Train hypertrophy the other 99% of the time.

Never. I’ve never cared about changing how my body looks that much and just wanna be strong and not fat

i never truly did, although at a certain point i decided that staying lean and healthy and aesthetic is absolutely worth the reduced rate of progress achieved from gigabulking
if you're willing to get fat, you'll become incredibly strong, but it's rarely worth it
a lean 315 bencher will always be superior in aspects other than raw static strength to an obese 405+ bencher
i still love strength, but i can not justify being fat

This looks like awful form. Kinda. Am DYEL who wants to become a fit/izen but shouldn't his torso remain upright? To be able to keep his nose upright isn't he craning his head up? My reference for perfect squat form is Platz btw

It's a low bar squat and looks exactly how Rip likes it.

        >DYEL moment
        Who's Rip?
Also, I heard (also from Platz) that powerlifters use the low position for extra strength from the back. I'm assuming that's what this is?

Mark Rippetoe is the Starting Strength guy.

          >use the low position for extra strength from the back
Yeah basically. Hips and lower back come into play more so you can lift heavier.

At what point will you grow out of your elitist loser phase?

  20. 6 months ago

Only a year ago. From 16 all the way to 22 or so I had this backwards mindset of "I wanna be strong, who cares about looking good". The results? Slow progress from inadequate volume made worse by getting injured at least once a year from trying to lift extra heavy all the time.

In 4 months of higher volume more bodybuilding like routine I'm seeing progress like never before. My form on all the big lifts was able to improve massively from having the lighter weights and more control
