At a point where I strained my back while benching 2 plate. Realized my core was weak as frick and bought a wide ass full leather belt to see if it can help stabilize my shit.
It's insane how much better it is to work out (or do any form of work) with that thing on. You constantly feel it on and find yourself voluntarily tightening your core muscles against it. It's the best lifting investment I've ever made and it cost me like 60 bucks
Training to brace your core by pushing it out against a bell instead of sucking it in against your diaphragm seems stupid. The number of old, "old school" lifters who swear by belts as a classic staple piece of gym equipment and who also coincidentally have bad backs and shitty quality of life seems to corroborate my suspicion that it is stupid. I'm just not wearing the belt is all.
>Training to brace your core by pushing it out against a belt
I've got a suspicion that this causes the muscle gut that bodybuilders have these days as well. It's like doing a reverse vacuum. If you train your abdomen to stick out, it's going to stick out.
i understand your moronic logic but if you think that its sound, then you are just moronic. like i dont how to explain to "debunk" you since you can debunk by just using your brains, i mean like what the frick is your brain full on dancing chimpanzees or what? do you think that with your hands you can push harder against "air/nothing" than against a wall? like obviously you will be able to push your abdomen more when its pressed against a belt
Yes that's why biggest dudes out there do bodyweight work exclusively

go to a squat rack right now, load up 3 plates and do a couple reps while bracing with and without the belt and tell me which one puts more stress on the core. We can sit here all day and theorize about shit, but thats all it is. Ive tried both and the difference is obvious to anyone. It is harder to brace if you dont have a belt. Thats all im saying. Im not saying bracing makes your waist thick, cause that was your stupid idea

Since the belt gives you advantage you should be lifting more than 3 plates with the belt. Lets say you do 3,5 plates with belt and 3 without.
Now your core is getting about the same amount of stress but you are still lifting more weight.
I dont see any benefits on not using belt rather than that if you want to go lighter that day, if you are deloading or having a light day.
i didnt. whenever you need to start accessories, you have a reached a point of not only diminishing returns but just negative returns. if you need a belt to not die or get injured, you are lifting too much and/or with bad form. These are correlated.
Never. I don't care for using belts or straps. Yes they can take out some of the limiting factors to help you lift more weight but if I wanted those other muscles to be hit harder I'd just do isolations and not compounds.
I don't use one.
at 2pl8 squat
you are moronic
Cope.
cope even harder
You don't squat 500 lbs for even 1 rep though.

>sorry dawg I left my gym equipment in the car, but I'll pour vodka on your grave lol. Xbox.
at what point you started using two, or even three belts?
That's a big bar
When I think I herniated a disc picking up a db awkward for bench

>core is weak
>ignore core work
>buy belt
totally legit argmuent you got there
>Buy belt
>Free core work whenever you wear it
I'm sorry that you'll never make it
>wearing a belt makes your core magically stronger
>need a belt to push lmao2pl8
>gonna make it
>IST 2023
Were you belt whipped as a child or something

bracing against air is harder so your core works more, therefore, by your logic, getting bigger
>Air resistance is harder than belt resistance
This is your brain on no belt
you have to exert more effort to properly brace against nothing

Belt is cringe and gay. Simple as
I do 3 pl8 deads and 2 pl8+ squatz with no belt. Do people seriously have trouble bracing against the air?
