Autistic workout thoughts

What you think about when you're doing certain exercises. For example:
>When I do upper pec flys I like to pretend I'm a prisoner of war chained to a wall, and I'm slowly breaking the wall behind me by doing reps

I'm not pushing the bar up, i'm pushing myself and the planet down.

I pretend I'm a robot and I envision the gears, motors, and pistons in my chassis working in tandem to do the lift.

have you thought about not being a manchild?

This is actually a really good cue for bench. Not autistic.

      >upper pec flys
is there an reason to do it straight hands? no
is there a reason to do it with cables? no
is there a reason to do it both hands at the same time? no

Does this work? I try to focus on contracting the upper chest but I feel it strains my bicep too much

don't change elbow angle through the lift
lower the weight and slow down, esp on the negative

I like to consume CBD gummies prior to lifting because it's so interesting to focus on your muscles when you're a little stoned

I play “Scotland the Brave” on my headphones while deadlifting and pretend I’m a Highlander picking up a heavy ass rock or something

For bench, it’s lil scrappy no problem and I’m the most jacked homie in the yard

Each lift has a different theme. Keeps me focused.

Chest supported plate row = gripping someone’s shoulder blades from behind and ripping their arms off

Ohp = lifting a large rock over head and crushing it on the skull of someone I work with

Rope hammer curl = pulling on the spine of an enemy like the predator until it rips out

I think of something similar to OP but the chains are attached to extremely heavy blades of chaos and I’m loading them

I never think about scenarios like this in the gym but if I’m ever pushing a wheelbarrow or hiking up a steep mountain or carrying something heavy I think about Conan pushing that wheel for years. I should transfer this to lifting.
