How long does it take for finasteride side effects to start?
I've been taking it for 4 days and I'm already feeling my libido low. could it be placebo?

placebo lol. Your dead hair starts falling out in like month 3 due to finasteride yet you feel you have no sex drive in 4 days? lol
are you suggesting that side effects only coincide with the intended effects of a drug? because that's fricking moronic
My dick died for the first week or so, then came back with a vengeance as your test spikes and you can wank for England. Go mental during that phase as it only lasts a week or two then goes to below baseline. It should gradually come back
Then you never had side effects again?
A reduced libido and a loss of nocturnal erections/morning wood were the only ones that stuck around. I've been taking it for over two years now and they have improved but I'd be lying if I said they were gone. I am however not the best person to judge as I have severe varicocele on one ball that will be causing problems like low test which I have. I would take a lower libido over being bald.
I'm still wanking every day so my wiener hasn't died. I don't want to scare you off, it really is the only thing along with dut (stronger fin) to save your hair, but there are some sides. If you go to other places like r/tressless they shoot everything down as nocebo.
But you had these side effects on libido since day 1?
I can't remember if it was day 1 exactly, I did get the cold/numb dick symptom early on but idk if it was the first day. The problem is you go into taking it expecting sides and you get them so there is a bit of nocebo to it. Take it for a year and see how you feel, you'll go through bad sheds early on so don't be discouraged when you see hair falling out, it will grow back stronger.
Thanks, anon, I agree with you.
I had the same thing. I started fin in 2019 and the first week I did not get hard whatsoever which worried me. But after a week I was just horny all the time. On average I have been busting daily since starting fin and thats more than before.
Study that proves this? Most people are reporting long lasting sides.
Well as I said in the other post it SHOULD gradually come back but for me not quite there. 'Most' people definitely are not reporting long lasting sides, but there are more people with sides than studies show.
Should? Should! Ah, okay. Most people are reporting long lasting sides. Some are reporting sides that don't go away after even five or more years. Andrew have killed themselves over it.
Meanwhile the thousands of other people who have no sides won't post anything because they're getting on with their lives. Try it out, if it doesn't work fro you then come off it.
Poisoned skittle analogy. No thanks. troony drug.
Okay enjoy baldness
Found the hims and Keeps shill. Cope, seethe, and dilate, troony.
Are you just the same twat spamming 'troony' in every finasteride related thread? Are you just mad because it's too late for you now you're a bald c**t?
I have more hair than you and I didn't need to keep up on the troony drug. Post hairline, Lily.
Others, not Andrew. It would be weird if it affected only men named Andrew
>five or more years
this is moronic and all in their head
fin definitely has sides as it messes with your hormones but fin itself has a half life of about a day and the hormonal effects last for a few weeks before it returns to baseline
Otherwise baldness would be solved forever if you had to take a couple of pills and the effects last for 5 years
Fin has a half life of about a day? Where's the source for this? Everywhere else is saying a half-life of thirty days.
"Most people" can tongue my butthole. Stop paying attention to these crab fricks online do you have any idea how popular this drug is?
I think it takes a couple months, but it's a gradual process and not just going to "kick in" one day. I've been taking it for years and my hair loss seems to have slowed and some of the balding has filled in a bit, although it's hard to tell. If I stop taking it I start to notice hairs falling out though, so I'm not going off of it.
Be sure to exercise and maintain a healthy diet rich in protein and nutrients too. Get your omega-3s and multivitamins.
It made me ultra horny for two weeks.
Anyone else saw two juice ass cheeks and not two baldies?
Yeah..
Call it a cope or whatever, but I feel like my receding hairline gives me a more masculine look
cope or whatever
It looks like fricking shit man.
Unless you’re an effeminate looking man, you should masculine even without the receding hairline.
if by "receding hairline" you mean something like pic related, then I'm with you, at least if you're 35+
Lots of coping by norwood 5s who claim to have a "receding hairline" though. If it starts to fall out at the crown, it's over.
You have hair dysmorphia.
No one gives a frick about a little bit of norwooding, especially the tiny amount in the pic you posted, except for insecure lookmaxxers.
Personality is waaay more important than micro imperfections in appearance.
Everyone ages, and looks just aren't as important for a man.
It's definitely cope. You can get away with after 30 if you it doesn't get worse, but it usually does.
Honestly I also like my NW3 hairline but I always had a receded hairline so it's not like I'm one of those zoomers going from 0-3 in a year and freaking out
I mostly got on fin to prevent the crown from thinning too much
coffee mmm wait that's not coffee
Nocebo morons like you will never make it
So it's placebo?
Less than 1% of people in clinic drug studies experienced side effects in varying degrees.
Constantly thinking about your dick not working while taking the drug highly raises your chances of experiencing those effects.
So the mind is so powerful it can shrink and numb genitalia? Astounding! Where are the studies?
Your dick doesn't get shrunk or get numbed by finasteride, if that's what you're implying.
Regarding the studies, there's plenty of them. It's a well known phenomena in the medical field, just like placebo is.

Cmon dude, Im just having less interest in sex
Im jealous
Started fin in march 2023. Take around 0.5mg daily. Only side effect was ball ache for some days.
Just yesterday saw new hairs on my left temple. Blessed moment.
get blood work done. how is your diet? are you on pct or on cycle do you get enough sleep?
Weird question maybe, but at what age does balding normally start? I know there are super early cases, but on average.
I'm mid 30s now, and it's hard for me to notice if the thin hair in front is standard male pattern baldness vs. just thin hair as a default / consequence of long hair in my youth and doing ponytail / pulling the hair in front.
Some start balding at 16, some at 35. The best way to know if you're balding is just to compare pictures of yourself now to the ones in the past.
Thanks for answering.
I guess I have to wait a few more years before becoming a proper fat ugly bastard to start getting the chicks.
>27
>was in a relationship for 8 years
>started balding last year
>in between 1 and 2
>hop on fin 6 months ago
>hair noticeably thicker, even got some regrowth along the hairline
getting on minoxidil next week. frick bros all i want to do is bang a couple 18 and 19 year olds before im bald and it’s too late. my ex gf was fat and i was a virgin when we met so i feel like i missed out. im not gonna let the norwood reaper wiener block me
That's the sad part. Only minoxidil wont solve the problem
well that’s why i have chloroform too
this is a serious thread, stop making jokes
Who's joking?
i'm 28 bald and last week alone I banged a 19-year-old with short blonde hair and a 35-year-old muscle mommy.
The daughter of my friend (15) couldn't stop looking at me the other day at his house either.
I pull way more bald than with hair. Shit's weird man.
GYAAAAT
It's physiologically impossible for your side effects too be real. To begin with it takes time to lower your dht, it will happen overnight. Secondly, even if you could instantly refine alll dht from your body it would take a while to notice the effects, since dht is a signalling hormone that would require a period of absence before the androgen receptor ceases transcriptional regulation.
Made a mess of that phonepost but presumably it's coherent enough for you to get what I was saying. Tl;dr: hormones like dht don't work fast enough for your symptoms to be real.
Thanks, anon. Im less scared now
Why fin and not dutasteride?
It has the same result, doesnt it? Also, both are known for these side effects
>How long does it take for finasteride side effects to start?
>I've been taking it for 4 days and I'm already feeling my libido low. could it be placebo?
It takes like 4-6 weeks to even get the libido sides (if you get them)
You can get the DHT effects at 0.25-0.5mg, you don't need 1mg or God forbid 5mg. The sexual side effects are more prevalent at higher dosages but the hair efficiency doesn't amplify at all after 0.25mg.
I want to believe in you, anon
Where did you read that?
i just touched finasteride with 1 finger and my dick went limp for 1 year, just shave it bro, its not worth it.
The problem people have with fin is that sides are individual. You might get sides on the first dose, the 5th, the 50th, or never.
I've ben on fin for 1.5 years and never got any sides, still have all my hair.
Other people take a dose of fin and their dick shuts off for life.
>Other people take a dose of fin and their dick shuts off for life.
that's absolutely impossible
Where's the study that proves this is impossible?
>balding
C'est fini, sans ironie...
>look how bad everyone looks bald!
>n-no bald isnt bad you aren't getting it
kek
>got on fin too late
>sitting on a shitty NW3
Are you taking minoxidil too?
Yeah, think I just don't have the sulfo-transferase on my scalp to make it work though. 40-50% of men don't. I've been on topical min for about eight months and seen NO regrowth not even some paltry baby hairs.
u mix ur minox with tretinoin cream?
Ain't got no prescription for such a thing.
I never had any sides.
Would 100% "accidentally" fall face first into that ass.
niBBas on this board are so pent up with horny and lonely energy that they will post sexually charged replies as a pavlovian response just from the glimpse of thumbnail without properly inspecting the picture
Give me back my fricking hair butthole!
>4 days
Almost definitely nocebo.
Finasteride isn't working.
Minoxidil isn't working.
My life is over.
Either it starts within 3 months or not at all as the incidence of side effects gets lower over time. Just push through until your hormones stabilize and enjoy your hair and confidence.
