I like bent over barbell rows but they feel inferior to bent over dumbbell rows when it comes to lat activation. I think the increased range of motion is to blame. which is better?
Also this board is dead. Literally every top thread is either blackpill bait or coomer bait, is there another fitness forum that isnt like this?
dumb question. if you like barbell rows then it should be working. if activation is your concern, then you're not doing to barbell row correctly, or you're failing to fatigue the muscles (if you both you wouldn't need to ask this).
>if you like barbell rows then it should be working
What would you feel like if you didn't eat breakfast yesterday
But I finna ate breakfast yesterday anon tf u on
>barbell rows they feel inferior to bent over dumbbell rows when it comes to lat activation
It depends on torso angle. A Yates row is more lats than a normal row which is mostly mid traps
>is there another fitness forum that isnt like this
uh, bodybuilding dot cum
DB rows and its not even close
Mind says barbell buy my BODY says based dumbbell rows with maximum weight and maximum cheating
Board is fricked due to troony discord raids (all blackpill and LULZ threads are them or collaborators, IST is NOT LULZ)
bb always better than db. fix your form. I can tell you overload your bb and cant keep up a flat 90 bent angle so you dont feel any lats
I personally liked bb better. I put my back at strict 90° and pull till my stomach. FRM
If you're not feeling it in your lats or they're not the first muscle group to fail, you're going too heavy on BB rows. Everyone who says that they can't feel BB rows in their lats always has too much weight on the bar
It doesn't matter if you do them on a high bench. It's just preference at that point.
>but they feel inferior to bent over dumbbell rows when it comes to lat activation
That's because you're probably cheating by using your glutes and erectors to help lift the weight.
> increased range of motion
If your torso is horizontal and remains horizontal throughout the movement, the only really difference is that the grip is different. The range of motion would be the same. That being said, if you want maximum range of motion for you lats, do pulldowns with whatever grip you prefer. Just keep your scapula retracted to avoid passive insufficiency.
I've got a seal row in my gym, it's very nice
Barbell for power and stretch reflex
Chest supported dumbbell for bodybuilding
I prefer bent over barbell rows, but mostly because it lets me take over one of the squat rack/ deadlift platforms at my gym for just a little bit longer.
These have worked wonders for me.
Just keep your nearside hip (straighter leg) a little higher than the other for a good stretch.
if you want to hit lats with rows, do high rows.
someone redpill me on horizontal vs lateral movements for lat growth. don't be gay and say do both.
regional hypertrophy is a thing.
lats is a diagonal muscle and you hit, train and grow different parts by doing vertical, horizontal and diagonal pulls.
do all three
Do Pendlay Rows gay
