        Diets like carnivore and so on sort of accidentally work by drastically increasing the amount of protein ingested, which is much more satiating than carbs and also recalibrating your pallet.         Have you tried to maintain the diet for a month at least?
        For me, I had a lot of issues with food addiction. Sugar devil on my back, using food as comfort, etc. Once I got used to it (took about a month) then I had zero cravings, and I found that all I wanted was to eat meat.
        I felt really good and really confident about the diet. Something about it just made me feel right.
        I've done a lot of nutrition "research" in my spare time and I came to the conclusion that plants aren't necessary or even healthy.
        And it is plain as day for me if I eat some sugar or something sweet "in moderation" that it quickly turns into my addiction again.
        That's just me. Its much easier to quit all of it than to "have self control". Self control is for morons. Make a decision to change your life instead of torture yourself with "oh this food is bad but I can have a little bit!"
        As for repetitive, there is tons of variety

        It can't be avoided, that's what your body does when you eat only protein, it converts some of the protein you eat directly to glucose/glycogen. If you're talking about losing muscle mass that's something different. Your body will only eat muscle mass if you're in a steep calorie deficit and can't get protein from your diet.
        If you want to avoid losing lean muscle on a diet then eat 0.7g of protein per pound of your body weight and lift weights

        Nta but I'm 5'6" 68kg and it's actually pretty simple. I'm "cutting" on 2500 calories but usually aim for 2000.
        Right now I more or less do 5/3/1 BBB 4 days a week and walk about an hour every day, 5k once a week.
        102.5/155/72.5/170 1RMs approx.

        Basically just up your energy exertion where you can. Don't do like 3 sets of squats and then go to bed or something like that.
        Unless you're extremely out of shape (no muscle mass) and sedentary you shouldn't need to eat less than 1500 calories to lose weight.

        It's more like your body has an operating range. Anything from 1500 to 2500 and you'll stay the same. Anything less than that and you lose weight. Anything more, you gain. As for the range itself, your body might only need 2100-2200 caloies in a day, but it burns the full 2500 and radiates the rest away as heat if they're not spent. Meanwhile down at 1600 you won't lose weight, you'll just feel cold and tired because your body will "underclock" your organs to save calories and it's not until you go really low it will break into fat reserves.

            Humans are not robots. CICO fails. Some people have the gene which makes them enter starvation mode like hibernation. They will just be chronically fatigued if they do not eat enough but they will not lose weight. They need to eat healthily again and restart their diet to reset and calm their body down or eat healthily and just exercise.               CICO doesn't fail, what fails is when people crash diet, their body in turn downregulates as needed to expend far fewer calories per day, then those morons get trapped in the endless cycle of "I have to keep cutting calories or I can't lose fat!" and they always rebound like a motherfricker.
              If people stuck to a sensible approach of a max of 1 lb. per week (unless you're over 300 lbs., then you can do up to 2 lbs. or so per week without a hard crash), everyone would get where they want. But they're impatient, so they do stupid shit and plummet their metabolism temporarily and are too dumb to know how to get back out.

            Do you know what a calorie really is? A measure of heat. Your body does not literally burn the food you eat to create heat for energy (what a calorie measurement really is). Your body utilizes food through lots of chemical processes that are very complicated and it can vary based on you and what you eat specifically.
            CICO is a scam. Its actually just impossible to know exactly how much of the "calories" you're putting into your mouth are used for energy and what is stored. You'll only know by looking in the mirror.
            The scale isn't even an appropriate measurement because body weight can fluctuate a lot based on how much water you're holding onto.

    Those "experts" are assuming your TDEE is 2500 calories or some shit. I'm a manlet like you and my TDEE is only 1800 calories, so a standard diet defecit of 500 calories brings me to 1300 calories a day, not far off 1200. It sucks that our TDEE isn't that high to begin with, 1200 calories is such a small amount of food. But I've found that OMAD works better for curbing my hunger than trying to split 1200calories over three meals and feeling full., but your experiences may vary.

    This is the way. Lesser deficits are just too slow, they don't work with human nature. One evening with drinks or allowing yourself to touch the food others are cramming down at any social event or holiday, you've wiped out 2 weeks of progress on a slow program. 3 months in, slip into a habit for a week, a month of progress gone. 6 months in, you've maybe held the deficit for 2 actual months.

    Genetics are either fricked or you’re counting wrong. I’m even smaller manlet at 5’4” and lose 5-10lbs a month at 1500 calories depending on cardio. When I cut for the first time I accidentally got death face and my friends thought I was anorexic.

        You need to retabilize your body to break starvation mode. Some bodies are just more sensitive to this sort of thing. Once you normalize you can diet again. Dieting is not a straight line down think of it like waves going down with plateaus, bumps, and troughs.

    I'm pretty sure I'm surviving on about 1000 calories OMAD. Not to cut but just cause I'm depressed. Not sure how I'm still functioning, tbqh. I never feel hungry and have to pretty much force myself to eat a meal when I'm at home so my dad doesn't worry.

    You may need to increase protein in your diet, add some activity, and eat mostly nutrient dense foods with little to no filler.

    The main thing is activity. A person of your height should maintain around 2000 calories, so you should probably be eating protein and hitting the gym to get swole. A resting metabolic rate of 1700 calories a day indicates either low activity, or an underdeveloped physique.

    To lose weight, you can't eat enough. If you ate enough, you wouldn't lose weight because it's enough. You just have to ensure you are still getting all your essential nutrients (vitamins, minerals, enough protein, essential fatty acids).
