My dog escaped from my backyard and someone called animal control on him, and now the shelter refuse to let me pick him up because I didn't give my dog the vaxx

It’s so crazy to me no one gets this. People hear the word walking and think “oh that won’t do anything that’s not exercise” but then they lay in bed/sit at their PC at home all day, they sit in their car commuting to work for 1-2 hours, sit at the heir desk at work for 8-10 hours, sit in their car on the way home for another 1-3 hours, then sit around at home again. Maybe fit people will do cardio a few times a week and lift to offset this shit sedentary civilization. It’s still not anywhere near what humans are meant to do. Walking “10k steps” would have been a slow day for us. We’re meant to cover over double that on average, and have bursts of sprints and some distance running on occasion.
We were built to do two things and our anatomy proves it: throw shit with pinpoint precision and extreme power, and walk a ton.

My dog’s in her last years so I can only walk her 3-4 times a week for about a half mile each. She’s basically permanently on my couch or on her bed in front of a heat vent until we grab her leash. Going to be sad when she dies but such is the price of God given dominion.
Dogs getting old is a sad thing. One of my neighbors took his old dog on a walk with a pull kart and let him walk only when he wanted
