yea or nay?
good or bad?

Which beans are cringe and why? I eat a huge amount of beans, including many not on this list

the beans i listed are the most nutritious and tasty without having to process them or drown them in sauce/flavourings

Oh, OK. So there's nothing wrong with chickpeas/navy/other beans provided they haven't been goyslopped?

If I ate any more chickpea I'd be considered a fetishist

Not a complete protein without a grain.
I smash kidney, pinto, navy, broad, garbanzos or lentils with rice, veg and a meat all the time though. Cheap and filling

You guys know the difference between garbanzo beans and chickpeas?

I have never paid $20 to have a garbanzo bean on my face.

don't have to be a "complete" (aka optimal EAA ratio) proton, you just count it at 80% or whatever the gap is for the EAA that's your problem

I don't think this complete protein business makes sense. The amount of protein in grains is so minimal that if you want to reach "complete protein" status, you have to dilute your protein concentration to a point where you either have to eat a huge surplus to hit your protein goal or miss your protein goal all together.

My solution is to eat beans as my primary carb, be grateful for whatever protein it has, and make up the difference with meat and dairy.

They each are respectively lacking one essential amino acid. Legumes and pulses are lacking in methionine, IIRC

I believe beans have a bad amino acid profile. I just don't think the solution for someone trying to get 1g/lb of protein is to add rice. I think the solution is to add dairy and meat.

Beans are the holy combo with rice and X, whatever X is for you (chicken mostly for me).
A costco sized bag of rice, dry black beans, and dry pinto beans are absolutely cheap as all frick.
My default when I don't know what to do for dinner is to slow-cook beans over the day and make some form of salsa/fried/white/brown rice. Good macros.
Also, absolutely nothing tastes better than homemade refried beans. slow cook pinto beans with lard + an onion + eposote leaf, when done immediately mash and cook with some vegetable oil (frick off peat gays) and salt, sprinkle some melting cheese in- absolutely the tastiest shit ever.
    Beans are 10/10.

Delicious and cheap and takes about 2 minutes of work to prep them to cook in the instant pot. I have some red beans soaking right now for tonight’s dinner. Rice and beans is a dirt-cheap meal and reasonably nutritious.

nah instant pots are pretty based for beans.
i just add the beans and water at the right ratios and hit the beans button. an hour or so later they're ready

How much work is it to cut open the bag, dump them in the pot and fill it with water? It’s not like you have to pay attention to them after that to keep squirrels from getting in
