Scurvy would be a concern. Eat some fruit every once in a while unless you want bleeding gums, poor healing wounds with higher infection risk, and having your hair fall out. It's been known in survivalist circles for decades that you can survive indefinitely on a combo of eggs and a fruit of choice. If you want to stick with carnivore 100% then you should source some sheep's milk. It's one of the only animal products with a good amount of vitamin C in it
        >inb4 a schizo comes in talking about how vitamin C requirements are lessened when eating a carnivore diet
They are but not by much. Same logic as when people into fasting talk about it being muscle sparing. It's not nearly as much as your favorite grifter claims it to be

Vitamin C requirements are lessened by much when you eat 0 carbs. I still eat some vegetables/fruit and take some vit C supplement, but I'm not sure it makes sense historically. Because humans used to live for long periods of time on just animals. Raw liver and meat probably has enough vitamin C, but if humans used to live on animals and cook the meat, then I'm not sure why that used to be fine and now isn't anymore.

All that is speculation. Who honestly knows what prehistoric humans ate. However as a species we have long advanced since our cavemen days and they were far from optimal. That being said we have more recent examples of people surviving without stable sources of vitamin C and the problems it causes. Supplementing is better than nothing , but ultimately moronic, when you could just eat two potatoes a day and be fine.

              >All that is speculation. Who honestly knows what prehistoric humans ate
The content of the bones of prehistoric man have been examined and it showed that most humans were mesocarnivores. You can tell what an animal lived on by the content of the bones. What primarily mattered was what was available but when animals were there to eat humans ate them. Oftentimes to extinction. There's a good reason most of the world doesn't have megafauna anymore.

Cool but can you tell me with complete certainty that cavemen didnt eat tubers and greens in the winter and spring months. Bone analysis is great, but ultimately speculation on what the exact intake was of ancient men. Truth is when your hungry youll eat whatever you can. Our ancestors werent picky and would eat a proto-potato or any other vegetablein the harsh winter months when half of them probably died off due to exposure and starvation. Fact is your body has been built by that exact same thing. Humans greatest advantage is our adaptability. We can readily switch between carnivore and vegetarian diets on the fly, but ultimately require bits from both to function properly

Humans rarely went for long periods of time only eating animals. The only exceptions were in especially harsh environments or seasons where plants just didn't grow. Humans across the planet would regularly scavenge for berries, roots, edible grasses, and other plant matter to supplement their diet with. We evolved as apex hunters but we didn't fully evolve into obligate carnivores. We still have much of the physiology of a herbivore, notably a frugivore, with specific adaptations like intensely strong stomach acid to digest meat. We still need some plant matter in our diet to thrive

It's speculation to a certain degree, but stable isotope analysis of bones has given us a good amount of evidence that at least some archaic humans did eat close to a carnivore diet for most of their life.
I don't doubt humans ate plant matter, but it was nowhere near the amount of fast digestable carbs most people eat nowadays.
Also taking a vit C pill is way easier than cooking pototoes every day (and a pill also doesn't prevent ketosis).

There are tons of benefits of ketosis, especially for decreasing risk of neurological disorders (which I probably have an increased risk of, genetically). But it's just my personal choice, I never said or recommended a ketogenic diet for anyone who doesn't have or cares about those things.
Being ideologically opposed to ketosis or low carb is as closeminded as being ideologically opposed to a car-rich diet.

Tons of carnivore people yet not a single case of scurvy, how surprising.
Some people do carnivore for autoimmune reasons so they never cheat, and they don't have scurvy.

Scurvy is a big meme. It was mostly because people on ships drank alcohol instead of water because water couldn't be kept clean for long travels. It's not really a thing anymore.

LDL being high in your blood is the NOT the same as build up of LDL in your arteries. The difference is literally vitamin K. You and most doctors are clueless about vitamin K and even more clueless about what LDL does (chances are they went to school or were taught by people who never even heard of vitamin K, and base their instruction on bullshit about chloesterol from the 50s "research" the same research who think a high carb diet is fine despite it being used to make cows FATTER!)

Just add some veggies like potatoes(sweet or regular), peas, pumpkin/butternut squash, or broccoli and do chicken or fish a few times a week instead of beef youd be fine.

How are you so certain, check the micros on all the foods you listed. There are glaring gaps in vitamins. Deficiency doesnt necessarily mean disease, but it means an unhealthy body more prone to disease. Go get a full panel of vitamin and mineral values checked then report back before you speak

          Anonymous

What you eat influences what you need. Micros from animals are also way more absorable and more bioavailable than from plants. Some plants are even a net negative on the micros they supposedly contain due to things like phytic acid and lectins. People eating a carnivore diet typically have normal/good blood levels, aside from vitamin D if they don't get sunlight and don't supplement.

I tried a carnivore diet in 2021 for around 6 months. My diet was typically a dozen eggs, 8-16oz of cheese, and a pound of beef or pork a day. Magnesium and manganese was supplemented.
Athletic performance was unaffected (lifts slowly increased, body weight stayed the same), but I felt shitty and sleep quality was horrible. It often took 2 hours to fall asleep.
    Bloodwork comparison between 2019 (190lb, 50% carb, 25% protein, 25% fat), 2021 (200lb, 5% carb, 30% protein, 65% fat), and 2023 (200lb, 45% carb, 25% protein, 30% fat) was as follows:
    Total Cholesterol: 136, 180, 172
    HDL: 46, 62, 53
    LDL: 69, 107, 103
    Triglycerides: 119, 39, 75
Workout intensity/frequency was the same during each time period, but I was pushing carts 36 hours a week (70 miles of walking) in 2021. Despite my best blood results coming from carnivore, I’d advise against eating nothing but beef and eggs simply because your sleep quality is going to make quality of life unbearable.
