been diagnosed CKD on Monday and told to eat a low protein diet. So how tf am I supposed to make gains on a low protein diet? I don't want to stop lifting

Can't show off your gains if you're dead. You are at a crossroads anon, there is a priority here. You can still be fit and healthy without lifting. CKD is no joke
think about your wife's son now anon. Your lifting days are over
Can't make gains when for example gout flares up either.
> be me
> low protein
> no gear
> satisfying gains
work out and accept your personal limitations. No specimen ever had or will ever have the perfect alignment of factors for hypertrophy in their favour. And yet they all brought decent gains home.
Chronic illness sucks balls. For me it's GERD.
>INB4 TAKE HCL PEPSIN
ONLY MADE IT WORSE FOR ME GO FUCK YOURSELF I HAVE HYPERCHLORIDIA.
At this point I'm gonna try raw milk Kefir since a lot of anons swear by it, but it feels so cancerous, shit really fucks with one's life and I don't want to live on PPIs.
I am at the point
>Chronic illness sucks balls
yup
lost 10% of my entire life (if I live to 70) to that bullshit
Sorry to hear that anons. Do you still lift heavy? Or did you change your workout style at all?
mine is some weak ass pussy shit, came about from cutting too rarted instead of lifting + slow bulk for a year first, serves me right for trying to be too smart
after all the damage I've done, I did some geriatric exercises a while ago and am planning on restarting a week after I'm done with this cold
I hope the other anon is doing better
Your body can create it's own protein, so long as you consume essential amino acids. Even in terms of essential aminos, you can get away without eating them for weeks-months without any adverse outcomes.
Your body will spend more energy creating these proteins, thus allowing for improved weight loss.
Treat your kidneys well and your body won't retain excess water, and thus you'll look and feel better too.
Drink water, don't drink booze. Avoid meds/drugs unless your doc tells you to take them.
no this is retarded
first of all the problem in the first place is the metabolism of amino acids causing ammonia build up like i said here
second isolated amino acids absorb too quickly which causes a stress response, proteins are better bc they are broken down more slowly and are less stressful
Look you little shit:
Yes, the human body can produce most of its amino acids. Yes this is why the remainder is named 'essential' amino acids, because the human body can not synthesize those.
Will the human body produce non-essential amino acids to the same capacity as they are usually externally supplied ? No.
Lastly none of this matters if you have issues with uric acid levels because for a given bodymass a given number of cells will be renewed at any time so for high body mass this number will be high and its the bodies own catabolism that will fuck anon in the ass. Long story short: Anon here can not ever Ramy. He can only accept his limits and become his best version of himself.
You only need like 80 grams of protein a day to make almost as much gains as optimal, as long as you eat enough carbs on workout days.
the reason why people say high protein is bad for kidneys is bc if you eat high protein but insufficient carbs, your cells metabolise protein (amino acids) for energy, which creates ammonia as a by product and strains the kidneys
in fact 90% marathon runners are found to have acute kidney failure (that they recover from obviously) at the end of the race bc their bodies are forced to eat themselves and use so much of their own muscle protein for energy that it damages the kidneys
ofc the way to avoid this is simply eat enough carbs (sugar) so that your body never resorts to protein catabolism for energy
ckd is somewhat of a fake disease that is really a symptom of chronically elevated cortisol and/or a bacterial infection
a high carb diet will also lower cortisol significantly and improve symptoms
i recommend >65% carbs, 20% protein, <15% fat as a diet break down
as for supplements that are good for the kidneys, make sure youre getting a decent amount of vitamin b3, b1, b6 (redbull is good for this)
daily aspirin is very good
and ofc stop eating PUFA as much as possible, this alone might help significantly
youll be fine, like i said ckd is kind of a fake hand wavy disease so dont end up going down some rabbit hole going to doctors and getting prescribed various poisons
there's actual people reading your bs you should hold the FUCK DOWN
This is complete bullshit, and NSAIDs actually harm your kidneys.
NSAID is a totally arbitrary designation and each one has a totally different mechanism of action
aspirin is the only one thats safe to take and basically just improves your health at every level
if youre talking about any other ""NSAID"" (acetaminophen, ibuprofen, naproxen, carprofen, etc) then emphatically yes, these will worsen ckd, particularly tylenol (acetaminophen/paracetamol) which causes organ damage and should never be taken under any circumstance
like i said, NSAID is a bullshit category catch all for "super mild drugs that seem to mildly relieve symptoms like fever or pain"
aspirin is the only one that is safe and basically just improves your general health no matter what
taking daily aspirin lowers all cause mortality, and insurance companies and their actuaries/statisticians have known this for a long time: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2013-04-02/aspirin-seen-fueling-100-billion-penions-cost#:~:text=Aspirin's%20use%20fighting%20cancer%20has,modeler%20said%20in%20a%20report.
> older adults taking 100 mg of daily aspirin were more likely to be diagnosed with advanced, metastatic cancers & more likely to die from cancer than those taking a placebo.
https://academic.oup.com/jnci/article/113/3/258/5889955?login=false
>daily aspirin use was linked to a 26% higher risk of heart failure in people with at least 1 predisposing condition including smoking, obesity, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease.

Thanks for all the serious answers. I'm still a bit lost on the whole thing tbh. I know I want to keep working out, but maybe I'll have to shift my focus a bit.
Did you get your blood work done while supplementing creatine? If so, stop using creatine for a month, get a second opinion, and go from there (and maybe take only what the package recommends or even less than that or stopping, moving forward).
If you were supplementing creatine while getting blood work done, and you didn’t know to let them know you were taking supplementary creatine, your labs will pop for kidney disease. Most doctors don’t think to ask about creatine for people who aren’t highschool football players or strength athletes.
Hey there anon, i have polycystic kidney disease. I'm 23 and will probably live till my 80 if i take care of myself. Since you can't eat much protein nor food in general you should embrace minimalism training. You just can't push yourself, yeah it sucks but hey i've been playing the guitar and trying to find other hobbies. Good luck.
>been diagnosed CKD
How do I lower my chances of getting CKD, my cat Natalie died of this on Christmas 🙁
it should also be noted that theres been a decades long pushback against aspirin bc of how effective it is, that people wanting to release patented competing products fund FUD around "bleeding" risk, but this is not an issue for most people and nobody has ever died from aspirin linked GI bleeding
some people get stomach upset but this can be eliminated by dissolving the aspirin in water, having it with a meal, andor taking some baking soda with it
i recommend people read this raypeat.com/articles/aging/aspirin-brain-cancer.shtml
personally ive been taking .5g-2g of aspirin daily for a year now and it just makes my quality of life better, like coffee
Men have survived for thousands of years without the "diagnosis" of a modern doctor that you have to pay $500 for a simple checkup.
No fucking thanks. I will lift or I will die trying.
suck dick for money
