Been doing this at the gym for the past month

Do people think I look stupid? What would you think if you saw some normal dude doing those at your gym? would you laugh at him?

I've seem them. It looks incredibly stupid but I respect it, it's the only way. Don't expect the same kind of mercy from roastoids.

yeah I´ve been catching some people smirking and it is making me feel insecure.

you can do them horizontally with a band and a towel, it looks slightly less silly

I wouldn’t laugh bc I’m also the guy doing that. Idgaf what people think. 2024 is the year of the neck

nobody gives a frick. do them long enough and people will start to respect you for it once they see your neck.

unfortunately looks stupid when you first start out but if you get a monster neck and are jacked then people will assume you're a fighter or some other type who could rayp them and will respect you

Shrugs give you a monster neck, not this moronic thing.

Shrugs hit traps moron, this hits scapulae and SCM

why the frick wouldn't you just do this at home if it's that much of an issue? it's not like it takes space or a lot of equipment.

I tried this and when I get home the training mindset is gone. I said I'll do them at home right after training but never did them. At the gym I always get them done because I'm in training mode.

Okay so stop making excuses you b***h.
I go to the gym and do stuff at home now. I did 21 exercises a couple of days ago.
You want a stronger neck? Then do it

harness is a huge pain in the ass compared to just holding a plate

harness is for the back of the neck. Plate holding is best for front.

plate holding is inconvenient for the back of the head once you get above a certain weight

ATTENTION: If you do this, DO NOT HOLD YOUR BREATH IN! I did the Valsalva Maneuver during the eccentric and it gave me vertigo which hasn't resolved after a week. Not sure if it'll clear up but I hope it does.

If you do this exercise, take it slow and don't ego lift like a moron. Your neck is arguably your (second) most vulnerable body part.

If you still care about people at the gym, you will never EVER make it. The only reason I would ever care about doing these is because I might be taking up the cable machine area if someone else wanted to use the other side. They can take a video if they want. At least I'm interesting enough to be worth a video. Can't say the same for most homosexuals.

It's ok but attaching the weight this far off is not optimal. Smaller weights closer to the harness enable a better range of motion.

i do neck curls on a bench at peak hours and no one ever dared to tell me anything. they know based on my neck size that i would absolutely obliterate them in a fight

Dawg just get some equipment and do it at home and use the expensive machines at the gym

give it time. The number one risk factor for sleep apnea is a neck over about 17" or so.

        Congrats on not being moronic
        >I did deadlifts and now I have permanent lower back pain wahhh

are you so stupid that you think you get sleep apnea from doing neck exercises with bad form or something?
can one person really be this moronic?

          Anonymous

the number one risk factor for sleep apnea is being overweight
big neck while low bodyfat = no issue
big neck while being an obese powershitter = problem

            Anonymous

you're just spouting shit you have no knowledge about.
A lean 220lbs body builder is far more likely to have obstructive sleep apnea than a 220lbs fat ass.
The bodybuilders mass is in his chest which makes breathing harder when you sleep, as opposed to just having a fat gut.
And neck size is still the main factor because the mass in the neck mechanically compresses the airway while lying down.
But I guess you're an expert on it because you saw a meme about it or some shit

              Anonymous

you arent even denying that you are an overweight powershitter

Doesnt matter what I say. I can post a pic at 3% bodyfat and you'll just say I'm an obese dyel.
You once read that fat people get sleep apnea so in your pea brain that means all people with sleep apnea are fatties.
                Even skellys can have it.
Its not enough that you're stupid but you're proud to come on here and put it on display

I assume people who do these box. It's like seeing someone at the gym using the baseball bat attachment on the cables. Uncommon but who cares. People who don't understand what you're doing don't matter. I do JM press after bench and people always look at me like I'm doing some moronic terrible form bench press with baby weight. I do not care because it works exceptionally well, they just do not know. It helps that I am bigger than them. I wouldn't just start doing neck curls if I was some out of shape fat c**t. Once you're out of DYEL you can do whatever you want comfortably
