women will care, but nobody really cares about anything you do, all your hobbies, playing video games, tv, art, snowboarding, nobody gives a shit, it's about how much fun you're having focusing on it.

You guys won't make it because you don't get it. For those of you who golf, or hunt, its not about having a hobby, its about challenging yourself and trying to be the best you can be in a lifelong activity (most people aren't playing football at 40 but you can exercise, hunt, fish, golf, etc deep into your 70s and probably even 80s). This philosophy and mindset translates into every aspect of your life if you have the right attitude. You're supposed to
      >work hard
      >be a good person with integrity
      >make enough money to live comfertably
      >be attractive enough to frick women or get in a LTR and even marraige and sire children
      >Dress nice
      >Drive a nice car if you have the money or at least something reliable and safe that makes you happy
      >Do your best and challenge yourself to keep getting better at activities
      >Maintain a clean home and learn other skills for home ownership to save you money

This is what its about. Its not just some hobby because you have no personality, the guys that do this are usually pretty dull personality wise, its about your entire persona and being a good person with high character and be someone your kids would say they were proud of.

If you don't get this I'm sad to tell you YNGMI.

I was banned from reddit years ago for posting a video of an indian kid that was like 9 years old getting slowly decapitated by a grown man with a butterknife. I don't miss it in the least bit. It is a chinese data harvesting owned confirmation bias generator. It was useful for super niche things like, say, paintball, or a tv show or movie you wanna talk about that none of your friends watch. Other than that its shit.

But yea, I try to be a good person and excel and work hard in whatever I do, and I won't let some anonymous idiot on IST sway my foundation. Who do you think you are? Its cute you think your opinion is valuable.

The manlets who lift and uggos bring a terrible reputation to non subhumans who go to the gym. All manlets should be banned from the gym. Don’t even bother going if you’re below a 6/10 face.

Hobbies are worthless money draining time wasting activities. Why bother. No one truly cares, you can just watch tv all day and people would still like you if you’re attractive

        Anonymous

You've just shined light on the underlying pathology of all fitcels (Vanity and an underlying intention of fitness being anything other then the goal of the activity itself), which is why the "Being fit is a bad hobby" point is being raised. If you can't just participate in an activity for that activities sake (Playing the guitar, Kayaking, gardening, playing a sport) Then yes you're truly lost and don't bother doing anything. If youre some ugly incel who needs to looksmatch but can't because he's an ugly incel, all the more reason to derive joy in the engagement of whatever activity they choose with no motive beyond that.

Fitness & health are a lifestyle, not a hobby. Anyone who says their hobby is the gym is no better than saying they do yoga. The day subconsciously incorporates active activities. Most hobbies involve sitting for X-amount of hours and a lot of folks arent wired for that unless there is a monetary incentive.

I used to ride motorcycles. Now I'm too weak to ride, so I go to the gym to get stronger, but it's a Sisyphean task with me weighing 104 lbs.

The silver lining is that I grew to like resistance exercise as much as I liked riding. Besides, I bought a vintage 50cc moped that I'll trot out on the two summer days a year when it's warm enough that my non-thyroidal illness syndrome doesn't cause a drop in body temperature to 94.3F from being exposed to the elements on a two-wheeler.

  13. 4 months ago

It's kind of a cringe split especially with "1-2 hours a day". My gym only totals 4-5 hours a week not including the cardio I do at home while watching movies or playing games.

Working out isn't strictly speaking a hobby to me. I don't think of cooking, meditating or taking a shower as a hobby either. I see them as requirements for a good human existance. I go to the gym twice a week to get my workout in, other days it's running and rucking. I want my body to be in good shape so that I have time for the shit that matters to me.

I think it’s fun, and my wife likes my muscles, and I want my son to grow up thinking that a normal man should be jacked as frick so he isn’t a slob ass b***h. Fitness shouldn’t be a hobby though, it’s like taking a shit, or eating a sandwich, it’s not wrong to find some pleasure in the activity but at the end of the day it’s just something you need to do to keep the motor running clean.

Correct. Being fit is not a replacement for
    >personality, wit, manners, charm
    >hobby/entire life goal (unless you're a career athlete)
    >having a rewarding occupation be it a job, a business etc
    >being cool
I was cool and funny before I got fit. Did fitness help me getting laid, becoming a more interesting man, find new friends (that don't treat being fit as a hobby)? Absolutely not. Also a lot of fitness-as-a-hobby guys are fricking moronic so you don't really want to associate with them.
That's why your fitness should be subtle. Be big but don't wear wifebeaters. Train but don't explain it in detain to your friends or colleagues. Say it's from push-ups and carrying your grandma's groceries.
Say to women that you've "naturally been like this".
I UNDERSTAND that it robs you of the extra chance to boast about it, but it's simply better to be subtle. People really do respect you more.

Gym isn't a hobby. It's like hygiene for the inside of your body. It's a bonus that it feels good too. Like right after you brush your teeth. This dude would be upset that you spent 3 minutes brushing instead of 2, because nOt a sEcOnD mOrE

  21. 4 months ago

if you already spend 1-2 hours a day on something it pretty much is what people consider a hobby whether you want to call it that or not. if you spend 1-2 hours a day on something you might also spend a few more minutes to make sure you're doing it right, like researching for 10 fricking minutes to make sure what you're doing isn't completely moronic.
can there be any doubt whatsoever that the poster you screencapped has to be considered among the ranks of mentally moronic subhumans?

my response is that i agree. training should be something like brushing your teeth. you just do it, you dont make it your personality and you dont let it consume your life. now his point is kinda paradoxical since he is training basically like 6x a week? and 1-2 hours per day. Like that is as gymcel as it fricking gets.

Imo 45-60min 1-3x a week, if you do FB 1-2x then your workouts can be a bit longer but yeah that's about what you should be doing at most. Lifting should be absolute bottom of the barrel in priority. You just do it on the side, but you should focus on creating/maintaining social relationships, with just friends and a potential wife, get married, get kids, focus on your career, finances etc. Its fine for lifting to be a "big thing" in your late teens but seriously people let it devour their entire life when they are fricking nobodies. They act like they are IFBB pro's even though they look like they don't lift.

I don't really get what he means. I spend an average of 7 hours a week in the gym. It's a great hobby to have because I can maximize my progression in such a short amount of time. To try and get better at one of my other hobbies, miniature painting, I can spend basically unlimited hours for very slight returns. It would be weird if it was your only hobby but it's kinda incredible for the time invested to reward ratio.
