I was wondering if it would be beneficial to train upper body 3 times a week instead of the usual 2 times a week? I am still a novice, I can only bench 185 for 6 reps, btw.

Then 3x3-5

if you can get more than 5 at the last set add 5lbs
otherwise add 2,5lbs
if you get 4 repeat try again next time
if you get less than 4 you are not recovered enough.

Today got only 4x with 120kg.
Dropped OHP completely and only did incline and bench. Planning on going back to OHP once I stall hard on the bench.

Yes you can do it but you usually need to differentiate the 3 days in reps/volume/intensity and possibly a variation on one
I just bench and do upper body every third day, current setup is
>Heavy day, 1-4's linear progression waves
>Rep/hypertrophy day, I just do 8-10/6-8/4-6 on incline corresponding to where I am at with the flat bench in the wave
Easier this way because I can go hard on both days vs having to walk a tightrope with 3 days.
