Total newbie here, started lifting a month ago. There are so many fitness youtubers that I can't keep up and some of them have very different tips on how to do things.
If I can only stick to one or two then which one is the best to listen to follow?

what are your goals? You need to know exactly what you want to achieve, aesthetics, strength, calisthenics, powerlifting? If you're starting out, i recommend staying far away from picrel, and follow Geoffrey Verity Schofield.
skinnyfat and I want to cut while getting muscles and eventually getting muscular.
thanks for the names anon.
Nippard's videos on body recomp are a good resource, perfect fornyou. You can find his pdf for free if you just Google, but the essential info is in the videos.
Thrall for everything else
Alan thrall. His best advice was that your program isn't bad.
Basically, you do everything you can do make sure your program is successful
he's such a homosexual. when he started out, he was regurgitating starting strength. why? because that's what everyone was doing at that time.
now he disavowed starting strength and is regurgitating ~~*mike israetel*~~ and that provincial american pseudointellectual greg knuckols. why? because that's what everybody's doing at the moment.
allan thrall is a typical koolaid drinker and all you'll learn from him is the typical koolaid everyone else is drinking now. frick him and his cringy "metal & beard hurr durr" manchildish ways.
What's wrong with nuckols
this is what autistic dysgenic plg regulars think
Show me on the doll where Alan hurt you
He taught me how to deadlift
Alan Thrall. Great form videos and general advice
Sean Nalewanyj and definitely not that guy (jeff? i forget)
Just follow pic related.
Pic related is already outdated at frequency.
>Pic related is already outdated at frequency.
Elaborate?
my squat and bench blew up when i went from 2 to 3x a week frequency
Did you reduce the volume in each session?
Let's say I'm currently doing 2 sessions per week of 10 sets each. Should I start doing 3 sessions of 7 sets each?
>my squat and bench blew up when i went from 2 to 3x a week frequency
But the guidelines pic saying there is no benefit to more than 2x a week is referring to muscle hypertrophy, not strength gains.
>the consensus of decades of studies is wrong because of my n=1 anecdote
Mike “The israelite” Israetel
read starting strengh, even if you don't like the program and don't want to do it, its more or less a text book about how your body works and adapts as it pertains to weight training. also reading a well written book teaches you way more information, then binge watching youtube videos and not understanding how everything fits together, while you think you're learning. but if you want to binge watch a video series >https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4cW0EmO12Lk&list=PLyqKj7LwU2RukxJbBHi9BtEuYYKm9UqQQ
that being said, mike “the israelite” israetel from rennesaince periodisation is the best. luckily for you, being a beginner everthing works more or less (some way better than others though) so alot of his content will unnecessarily complicate things for you in the meantime.
?t=416
watch that 7-14 minutes
my advice is to do total body 3x a week untill that stops working, don't do ppl (pushing muscles one day, pulling next, then legs, do that twice a week), as for a beginner training each muscle 3 times a week works better then every muscle twice a week (like happens in ppl) do that until it stops working. then switch to 'bodybuilding style' programs, specifically how mike "the israelite" would program.
also by programming that means how your workouts are structured and what you do in them, in case that isn't intuitive
also the dude you posted is complete garbage more often then he says something good dont watch him
theres the whole playlist for the series I was meant to link.
also about why starting strength isn't the best program (specifically the program, not the book is that it is too lower body focused, specifically, its funny to say, it develops your ass disproportionately more then any other muscle groups. and you're encouraged to reach a bodyfat of around 17%, so you will have to put on fat if you're bellow that, or lose fat if you're above that (bulking does actually does help build muscle for beginners, and for the advanced, it is 100% required where you will cut after, but still might not be what you're after reading from here
. you will still make good gains if you don't want to get fat dont worry)
he's a showman with nothing relevant to share. don't get me started on his wannabe intellectual posturing, Black person sounds like a israeli state attorney.
only oldgays know about frank yang
Why do his biceps look so gross? It's like they're bolted on.
He looks gross in general. Good dude, but he isn't very good looking
Worst:
Jeff Nippard
Allan Thrall
Mike Israetel
Jim Stoppani
Mike O'Hearn
Kneesovertoes
Doug Brignole

>Jeff Nippard
How dare you. Leave Nipple alone.
Not necessarily a fitness youtube but Rhonda Patrick. Wherever this b***h shows up, she brings along a list of trademark supplements and conveniently posts an affiliate link where you can purchase them.
All the youtube people using their degree to peddle a product should catch one to the dome.
Massive Iron - Steve Shaw
Brian Alsruhe is great. The Bugez was great for advice before he went full WWE persona.
Sticky Rick is living broscience
His mobility videos from about 3-5 years ago were good.
Basement Bodybuilding. That's about it. I know all the gays being posted and I only think BB has any helpful advice unless you're looking for powershitting form tips or some fat guy writing F=Ma on a whiteboard while ignoring the formula for work.
Brian alsruhe is pretty good. Avoid athleanX
Watch scooby1961.
zoomer general
worst: all
best: none
stop listening to these fake celebrity terminally online snake oil salesman douchebags. They aren't teaching you anything you can't figure out here
Except for scooby.
literal who
Just follow pic related, king.
All the info you will ever need.
How dare you?
>10-15 minutes to finish the set
This is a baby's workout. What are you squatting? 10lbs?
Your mom is the one squatting. On my dick.
your mom already did that to you lol
Post body. Oh right, you won't.
Dude, are you following me? You're obsessed with my dick.
DYEL homosexual.
Alright, you want to see my body that much? Are you lusting after a picture to this extent?
Here. Feast your eyes. It's not much, I know, I still have mediocre mass and definition and I look dyel in clothes, but it's been only 6 months of minimalist training.
not you, that's a repost from the dude that told you that you look like shit in your own thread.
also you abandoned your thread again when someone posted body as usual.
you will never post your own body, you have nothing to show for your routine.
Stop lying, that's me.
The timestamp is legit.
t. not him, I'm a professional timestampologist.
I'm a fellow timestampologist and can confirm.
First you don't post body, then you save my pics and post them as your own?
Frick you Black person
Cute nipples
>achievable modes
>5x8 takes 10-15 minutes
Are you benching just the bar?
Ok real talk what the frick? Even in the sets where I go to failure, the first few reps are fast and easy, then a couple of grinding ones that take 3-4 seconds each, and the last one takes maybe 5-7 seconds. All in all, the entire set doesn't take more than 35 seconds, even with failure.
>the first few reps are fast and easy
Yea are you benching just the bar? Anyone can do that and go to failure easy.
I bench 1.5 plates. Sets of 8-10. Each set takes me about 35 seconds, and from what I've seen that's the correct amount of time it should take.
You morons are either unaware of how much time you're spending lifting or you're lying.
lol, lmao even
film yourself doing a set and post it, homosexual.
That's how long a set takes, homosexual. Stop trying to look cool.
>That's almost 13 minutes
And the picture says 15 minutes. What are you autists on about?
This is why you don't make gains. You're so obsessive about the most insignificant minutiae.
You don't have any gains to speak of, dyel b***h.
>I bench 1.5 plates. Sets of 8-10
>Im jacked
35s lifting
2 minutes resting
5 sets
That's almost 13 minutes
I takes me about 1hour and 15 minutes to finish a workout that involves 4 lifts. And I am still dyel. Anyone thinking you are going to get the results in this dumb image are absolute dyels
You're dyel because you don't know what you're doing. We minimalists know it, so we get better results than you. See my progress here:
>a workout that involves 4 lifts
Doesn't mean shit if you don't say how many sets and reps for each lift. And what rest times.
>Doesn't mean shit if you don't say how many sets and reps for each lift. And what rest times.
>We minimalists know what we are doing
>Rest times and set/rep scheme is needed
Nah, you dont. You are as dyel as I am, post body to prove otherwise with timespamp "mark zuckerburger148"
it used to take me 45 minutes to finish my workout when I was doing baby weights. This image shows exactly that
Best for calisthenics
>FitnessFAQs (Daniel Vadnal), calisthenicsmovement is also very good
Best for weights
>I don´t know about programming/diets etc Scott Hermann is excellent for form videos. Although he´s a fat israelite, ~~*Mike Israetel*~~ seems to know his stuff, too.
Worst
>Jeff Nippard, Jeremy Ethier, Jeff Nippard, morecopemorerope aka Derek, Jeff Nippard, that other screaming Canadian manlet what´s his name again?
Seen the 2 calisthenics channels mentioned in . Any more? They made a nice station right around the corner from me with rings, bunch of different ropes and bars and all that stuff. Even tires but dont know what to do with half those things. Did some basis back stuff a couple of days ago and felt really good lat activation. Would love to add more to my program. Dont even really know how to specifically search for exercises for that kind of equipment not just bodyweight alone or just with a bar. Cant watch any more videos of just 50 slightly different push ups
>that other screaming Canadian manlet what´s his name again?
Greg Douchette
>Jeff Nippard
What's wrong with Nipple? His info is solid.
Wow scathing. Apply cold water to the burn, bro. Epic zing.
>Wow scathing.
you're mom
No, I'm dad. Your daddy.
Are you people sloths?
You either have a ridiculous endurance to strength ratio or you aren’t lifting as heavy as you think you are
They hate Jeff because he uses papers and tests to make his takes on fitness, the morons here prefer the gym bro approach, since it's dumb as frick and they can easily follow, also he is a man let lmao
>What's wrong with Nipple? His info is solid.
bro science > science
>hurf durf science
Even you must know this shit sounds fricking moronic considering every "study" has a new "study" a few months later that contradicts it. These Youtube morons don't know any more about science than your average slob on the street, and you know it.
The science isn't worthless but you have to be able to interpret it, which fitness conmen are too stupid to do. It's all just clickbait. Just read the articles yourself - if you're genuinely interested in your training you won't find them boring, and you only have to skim them anyway most of the time.
if only he did a little (a lot) less of the social media bashing and more analysis on food, exercise and physiological processes
Who's that israelite?
be nice and I tell you
Piss off, Shlomo.
His voice is annoying though
This. I like him but i don't want to watch his videos because the social media garbage slowly makes me seethe.
his bashing of Alec Enkiri and his later squirming around the topic of fakelean-x plate controversy made me lose all respect for this guy
John Meadows
Eugene Teo
Dr Mike Israetel is the best for in depth learning, not quick tips
>Israetel
No way in hell I'm watching some israelite.
Jason Genova
The one who doesn’t have a 10 minute video talking about the why you should NOT do X and have the last 4 seconds showing you the correct form. Sadly it has become all too common, people think they can make a living out of this so they will never show you the best way to do something, or an optimal routine. Rather they show you tiny bits and try to sell you their program. It’s all so boring honestly.
the way*
the youtuber in op's pic is a homosexual who uses fake weights in his vids
Jeff Nipple is great for all experience levels and is evidence-based.
Stay away from AthleanX if you're new to lifting. I've learned a lot of effective movements from him, but his content can lead you down a rabbit hole that will distract you from the basics.
Nipple is good but not as much as AthleanX. Look at the body he gave me. I'm shredded thanks to his trademarked programs.
He's the best around.
Will Tennyson is pretty good.
Why would you take advice from someone who doesn’t look good
bost poty
>If I can only stick to one or two then which one is the best to listen to follow?
Kabuki Strength for movements and Llayne Norton for diet.
>Fitness youtubers
Just avoid all this shit like a plague. Much more likely to give you analysis paralysis and make you insecure about everything rather than telling you anything of value. Lifting was solved years ago, and it's actually very simple. However, these grifters still need to churn out regular content, so they muckrake and play on your sense of FOMO to have something to upload.
The only worth these guys have are form videos, and even then they're like 18 minutes of fluff and 90 seconds of what you actually came to see.
This. Most people in the gym have no idea what is a supercompensation and gow to catch it. They just copy training programs from roidtrannies and get no result
science and development of muscle hypertrophy by brad schoenfeld
will give you all you need to know about lifting.
Jason Blaha's Strength and Fatness
Plausible natties like Geoffrey Verity Schofield, NaturalHypertrophy, Alan Thrall, AlphaDestiny, Sean Nalewanyj, and Bald Omni-Man could be useful. Eric Bugenhagen is entertaining and perhaps informative. It is possible that you will extract something of value from Israetel, though he is obviously israelitecing.
how many Black folk filming themselves doing squats does the internet need?
Based: Omar Isuf Eugene Teo V*gan Gains
Cringe: all others
Kyriakos and maybe some strongmen who have their channels, purely for motivation/entertainment. If you want advice, leave YouTube and any other social media behind. These "bodybuilder advisors" are all mentally ill narcissists trying to sell you something and/or compensate for their bottled trauma by gathering worthless online appraisal through posing as "natties" whilst obviously using steroids. Just stop stuffing your face if you're fat or add healthy calories if too skinny, do any form of training REGULARLY without letting your ego get in the way and you'll be perfectly fine. And if you need something to watch during a break - don't. Go out and enjoy some nature.
Frick influencer trannies.
Derek from MorePlatesMoreDates.
He is full of amazingly accurate information such as "keto nukes your free test levels", based on the bloodwork of a couple of youtube grifters. What a guy.
What's a good fitness channel for people with arthritis?
michael c remy
thanks anon
How important is the food? Lets say Im going to bust my ass on workouts but never eat "enough" (Im not fat and dont eat too much)
As in every day I usually get my 3 4 eggs in the morning, a bacon cheese toast, fruits veggies. Otherwise the rest of the day I dont usually eat much and am pretty sedentary. What will happen If I add a bunch of working out, last time I did something like this I turned into a skeleton
I jist cant figure out calories bros and stick to meal plans
Is it a good idea to pick one exercise and just spam that? For me it would be OHP woth dumbbells, I have good adjustable dbs at home. 2days focused volume, 2days on weight. Then daily pullups, pushups, abs, db curls
Would that be a smart thing to do? All I want in life is big fricking shoulders
Jeff Nippard is an adorable little scamp who will give you good advice. Never bought any of his ebooks though, just watched his videos on youtube.
Me. Yeah. I'm kind of a big deal in progressive podcasting circles. I hang with some big youtubers. People like Cenk Uygur from the TYT Podcast have interviewed me several times and I think I would consider him to be my close friend.
