Go to Harbor freight a buy a chinese dremel drill. Put the little "drum sander" atatchment on and use it on your calluses 2-3 times per week to keep them sanded down. It takes about 20 seconds twice per week to get it under control, then the skin will stay tough, but no thick layers to catch, pull and tear.
