183 cm, 71 kg. I used to weigh the same as you not too long ago. What helped me was meal prepping and having regular moments in the day to eat. As is said often here, you are probably not eating as much as you think you are and if you do eat a lot you don't do it enough to make a difference. Make a meal plan that has just a little extra calories and stick to it.

Also recently read that there is ZERO fricking benefit to being over 10-12% body fat. Adipose tissue, being lipofilic, tends to preferentially store heavy metals and environmental toxins. All in all, it’s just good to be lean.

I was 85kg (so 30.5 BMI) in February this year so I’ve made good progress on weight loss I think. I still want to lose more and ideally I’ll be under 60kg when I’m at my goal (I have a VERY slim frame so I still have quite a bit of weight to go), but I’m at a healthy weight now and it’s not painful to exercise anymore so think it’s time to start getting serious about building lean muscle mass. But if a lazy piece of shit like me can go from the lower end of obese to a healthy weight in 6 months then anyone can do it, I’ve hardly been consistent or very well disciplined but even I’ve made good progress.

Yeah BMI is really only useful for measuring populations and people with standard to low levels of muscle, so despite being a healthy weight a jacked person can get an overweight result, and some bodybuilders even score an obese result. There’s a reason it’s only used in very specific contexts.

Idk about white people specifically but asians can obesity related diseases a lower body fat% than most people people still within the "healthy" bmi range. Ideally we'd have some kind of comparative mass index that takes like the weight, height and density of your skeleton, and tells you how much lean mass and how much fat would be ideal for your and how far you are away from that. So we could literally prescribe someone a gym membership.
Your talking about a lean mass to fat ratio so you asians would get a proper read out? I would agree but my only concern would be is that I think it may be difficult with water weight fluctuations. Muscles and fat both retain lots of water and certain things cause you to lose it. I suppose they'd have to decide whether to measure this with the patient dry or retaining, get the patient on a certain eating protocol for a couple days and then take measurements.
A bmi in the upper overweight/obese even at low body fat is associated with more health negatives than positives.
Body builders that regularly score into obese usually have really bad cardiovascular health. There is a reason so many die from their hearts bursting.
You can be healthy as an athlete in the overweight category no issues.
