No this is the right time to dry fast and focus on the health gains you made as well as practice patience because your body needs time to restore and recover.

This is very embarrassing, but whenever i get discouraged and want to give up because things are not going how i wish they would or it seems like i will never reach my goals, my brain plays this. It is so silly that it makes me grin and then i am in a better mood and decide to trust the process and keep going despite it all.

I am sure you look better in clothes now than you did before. I also bet you like your face now a lot better than before. That is not nothing. You want to give up because it is not perfect? That is pathetic. Ofc your body will never be the image of perfection ever again. But if only perfection is worth it to you then yeah, maybe ending it is your only option since perfection is rarely achieved irl, much less held on to for more than a moment. Striving to get as close as possible will still always be worth it, no matter how close you can realistically get. As long as you strive towards it, you are going up and that is more than what most people do. Most live in a perpetual state of decline. Having improved your body composition already puts you way ahead of that since your markers are going up.

Well then, do you FEEL any better? Any health issues that have improved? Think hard. Because it is easy to forget how shitty you used to feel 80lbs ago. I remember 40lbs ago i sometimes got heart burn when lying down and felt like not getting enough air. This is gone completely. Or i used to get stinging in my soles in the morning. Gone too. My skin was all sorts of fricked up and healing took forever. Way better now. Focus on these wins.

Yeah, i feel you. Don‘t ever do that again. Your body will never look how you want it to look anon. It sucks but it is what it is. It will look better than it did before but not perfect. If seeing how not perfect it is floors you like that then your only option is to NOT look at it and keep going anyways. Personally idk if i will ever get to a point where i can look in the mirror and feel ok with what i see. That ship has sailed long ago and i know how fricking demotivating and painful that feels. I do understand the thought of why even keep going if this is what you get for all the discipline you have put in. Idk if there is a right answer. For me, giving up is not an option because there is so many other things in my life that are worth it even if my body does never live up to my standards to make keeping on keeping on a valid strategy. I suppose this is not the case for you because otherwise you would not be contemplating suicide. Idk what to tell you really. You have made it this far. Few do. That requires inhuman amounts of discipline and keeping your head up despite it all. You really want to quit now? Why not see it trough a little longer and see if you might not find something that makes keeping on feel worth it again?

I'll keep going I guess because I don't have anything else left, but I won't be able handle mentally that I'll never be able to look in the mirror ever

                Anonymous

                >handle mentally
Well then maybe your next focus should be on building mental endurance anon. You CAN falter in the face of adversity, but is that really the best you got?

My guy I’m gonna practice some radical candor because I feel like that’s what you came here for.
Have you looked into surgical options?
I feel like at this point you could get a doctor to argue that it’s non-cosmetic due to bacterial concerns or something.

Seriously, congrats on the weight loss.

Also this. You can go to a psychiatrist and probably get insurance to cover surgery because it causes you insane mental distress to the point of being suicidal. Friend of mine got her boob job covered like that. But i agree with you, surgery is not going to make you like what you see in the mirror either. You will always see the scars and how things just don‘t sit quiet right. So really, your option here seems to be to exercise the frick out of your mental and emotional stamina and power.

                Anonymous

Nope. She didn‘t do it though because she figured it would do her better to work on her mental health instead of trying to cater to her insecurity by trying to appeal to it and work around having to git gud emotionally. She still does not like her boobs (to be fair, they are tiny and saggy, so she really got unlucky af there) but she is doing fine otherwise.

As far as I know the insurance here covers surgery costs as longs as I can prove that my BMI changed at least by 10 points
                [...]
                Idk, count calories
Everything else is just bullshit, and eat a lot of potatoes (not deep-fried in oil)

Did not know the details but i suppose that makes sense. However, as the example of my friend shows, they sometimes also do cover plastic surgery not related to weight loss if the emotional suffering is too great if not done. Probably greatly depends on what country you are in though. This is how it is in switzerland.

You can just calculate what weight you would be at a bmi of around 22/23 and take that as the goal for now.

                Anonymous

My goal weight is 200lbs, I checked plenty of pictures and that weight should be ok with my height.

I mean, it‘s your body but i‘d be devastated if the guy i dated would get his body hair removed. Just looks off but might be personal preference. Imo it is always better to try and work with what you have instead of going for a totally different aesthetic. It is just exhausting and never looks quiet right. Ofc you will never have one of those pale smooth twink bodies, but there is other ways you can be hot af, yknow?

I don't know maybe it's just me grossed out by my body hair I just think it looks like shit.
Afaik shaving doesn't work for vody hair because it will grow back even worse

                Anonymous

Well then that is a frame of reference. You can always adjust that once you reach it if it is not what you thought it will be.
                >shaving
Nah, it does not grow back stronger (i know for certain, i‘m a hairdresser, kek). What happens is that you cut off the tapered ends and thus it appears more coarse and prickly. If you wax it, that won‘t happen because the new hair growth will also have a normal tapered tip instead of a flat cut off one. Pic rel (cut sharp, natural tapered, fizzled out) Personally i just use hair removal cream because it doesn‘t result in the prickly growth like shaving and does not cause so much stress to the skin like waxing or laser. Best of both worlds really. It just melts off the visible parts of the hair so the new growth has kind of a fizzled out tip, which is pretty close to how it would grow naturally.

So I just apply the removal cream and the hair just "falls off"?

                Anonymous

Yep. Well, you basically exfoliate it off (i use exfoliating gloves instead of the weird spatulas that usually comes with the cream for easy of use and maximum softness and thorough removal). It dissolves the keratin. It is actually quiet satisfying, the hair becomes almost gelatinous and you can stretch it like jiggly rubber.

                Anonymous

That sounds great, maybe I can finally remove hair from my back

                Anonymous

Yes, that could work. You can get these things with handled to put on body lotion (pic rel left) for your back and apply it like that and then use these back exfoliating things (pic rel right) to take it off again.

This. Get to your goal weight then give your body AT LEAST a year to restore and recover the skin and then see what needs fixing if at all. Als, as the other anons said, look into how to help your skin elasticity. Trace minerals, hyaluronic acid and collagen as supplements might be worth a try. If they don‘t help, they at least don‘t make it worse, eh?

Ah yes because kids can chose the circumstances they are born into and the ingrained habits that come with that and they should be able to overcome these at age 6, no matter the habits of everyone around them so they do not end up getting obese by age 7. Silly me, how could i have forgotten. Seriously anon, this is just sad. Ofc people have to take responsibility for their health and ofc there is always a way out of it and ofc the goal should be to never even let it get to that point but thinking you are better just because you either never got into that situation or you beat it sooner than others is pathetic. Being raised with good habits or having the resources to learn and implement good habits early enough to not suffer the consequences of not having them is nothing but pure luck. Sure, the older you get, the more time you had to educate yourself and overcome the less than ideal start to life you had but rarely does someone just have bad eating habits but their life is going well otherwise. Usually kids that end up getting fat come from families that have neglected them due to their own dysfunctionality, Chances are that if your parents could not i grain healthy eating/exercising habits into you by the age of ten, they also failed to teach you all the other necessary things to be a healthy person physically, mentally and emotionally and that not only leads to being fat but usually the fat people also do not have good relationships, have shitty education and work dead end jobs. Being fat is just one of many areas in their life that is completely fricked up and it is not because fat people are just stupid and lazy. It is because dysfunctional people are the ones getting fat, being broke and having none or shitty relationships. And wether or not they became adults with a set of habits that set them up for success or not certainly was not in their control up to that point. Anyways, you most likely could not care less. Oh well.

No, now is the time to double down.
Once you can see muscles and definition under the skin sheet, then get skin removal surgery.
It isn't all that expensive (most could save up for it in a years time).

Use it as motivation. Get yourself in order financially as well as physically. Start putting away whatever you can, and use it as the final reward for losing the weight and getting strong.
You already lived life in a gross fat body, this is no different, and infact is deserving of more respect.
You are doing great if you lost that much already. The only thing that should make you want to rope is if you give it all up and go back to being a gig fat.
