Braces as an adult

I’ve been wanting to get my teeth fixed for a while now. Is it gay to have braces as a 24 yo adult. Should I switch from braces to Invisalign?

Your teeth cannot drift if you wear the retainer with as much caution as the non-retainers (I'm talking about clear aligners. It's physically impossible, anon, don't be a liar.

Mine drifted a bit too, but I know that because I didn't wear the retainer according to instructions (it's basically a lifelong committment.

Nah mate, depends on the person.

I had mine straightened at 31-33 and I never wore a retainer (even though I have them) and I’m 36 now and my teeth as still straight as frick.

I just didn’t want to bother wearing retainer every night for the rest of my life so I decided to risk it without wearing it, turned out to be fine for me.

My sister also had her teeth down 10+ years ago and she only wore the retainer for about 1 year before losing hers, and her teeth are still straight.

You’ll find people have different experiences with that. If you’re lucky like me and my sister you don’t even need a retainer.

I didn't say you have to wear your retainer or else your teeth will drift, I think (I'm not gonna reread but that doesn't sound like something I'd just blurt out in writing).

I did say that if your teeth drift it's because you didn't wear your retainer, which is just physically the case.

Yes but you have to wear them everyday forever. Frick that.

That's valid. But don't complain that braces are a scam "because my teeth fricking drifted back after" (I'm not saying that was you who said that). If you don't actually do the instructed thing, the fault is all yours. If you do do the instructed thing and it STILL doesn't work, then its not your fault.

I didn't know that as a teen though. When they told me I would be wearing a retainer forever after I got the braces off I just stopped. This was a year after wearing a retainer post braces.

Bro, just wear them when you sleep. That’s what I do. It’s not bad at all.

This. It fricks your face. Fixed bottom retainer is even worse than top.

I'm convinced the braces I had are what fricked up my nose. The ear nose and throat specialist told me it looked like my nose had been broken 3 times, and there was all kinds of excess cartilidge and shit he had to remove. I still can't breathe well at all out of my nose years after the rhinoplasty. Like only one nostril will ever be open enough to breath out of at any time and I have to really suck in.

Braces on (not black) girls is a huge weakness of mine. Even grills are hot as frick (if they’re not black) idk what it is about me and tooth ornaments but it’s like a +9 to attack and damage rolls against me.

It's because it makes them look young and you are a pedo. I also find it hot as frick.

Yeah nothing gets me going like the thought of a girl giving me a blowjob and scraping the skin off my dick with her braces

      >glasses are so unattractive
yes they are. Thats why I bought super expensive lenses, which I dont use because I cant withstand them. LASIK is a israeli scam and will make me hate my software job even more. Nowadays I just have this idea to go out raw, and just squinch my eyes if I want to see something.

Your teeth are crooked because you don't have enough sieve in your mouth. Braces will tighten them all together, and they usually take a tooth out to make enough room to cram the rest of your teeth together, eventuality leading to your mouth having even less space. Enjoy your mouth breathing, and limited airway

Half true half false, they ask about ALMOST anything, that they asked me
Filing down my canine teeth WASNT tho, I was just sat there as usual and they just did it one day randomly, now I have slightly big canines, before they were big but I liked them frick.

Not true, they gave me an expander that widened my jaw gradually over about 6 months to make more space.

I had my teeth straightened in my 30s, was expensive but worth it, not only from an aesthetic point of view, but I’m able to actually floss and brush my teeth properly now. My teeth shifted to a point where it became impossible to floss in some parts of the mouth, so it was basically a requirement to have them straightened unless I was going to be okay with never flossing certain areas, which I wasn’t going to be happy with at all.

10/10 would recommend. The first few weeks are the worst but then you become accustomed to having stuff in your mouth moving your teeth slowly, to the point where it feels weird when you finally no longer have anything in your mouth.

My dentist did such a good job I don’t even need a retainer to keep them straight. They just stay straight now and it’s been 3 years since I had them done.

      Does you jawline look better?
I was thinking of either getting the implant to push my underbite forward, or just getting a loan and getting the jaw surgery realignment before getting the bracers

I’ve always had a Chadjaw, but yeah it did make my jaw a little more Chadly

Even on the scans they take of the progress I saw my gums had actually got some Chadified Hypertrophy from the force of the pressure straightening out the teeth

That said, I personally didn’t have any side effects, but I’ve heard people sometimes do get side effects, so it might not go as perfect for you as it did for me, they made me sign a waiver of all potential side effects, lucky I had 0 side effects

Okay tell the the biggest side effect
Whats was the wallet damage? What type of bracers did you go for? I assume the self-litigating ones are the best ones?

$7,000 AUD ( about $4,500 USD ) here in Australia.

But that was for 2 years treatment / movement, and it included ALL the checkups and adjustments, and ALL the cleanings the dentist did during that time.

I didn’t have any teeth removed or anything. Mine was straight forward no drama.

I had my teeth fixed by one of those cheap, 1800 dollar places. I didn't regret it at all. They ended up going out of business but since I had all of my aligner sent in one go, I had my teeth fixed and just had to get backup backup retainers somewhere else.

2 months into my invisalign treatment, heres the breakdown

    6000$
Takes about a week to get used to the feeling
Most annoying part is brushing teeth / flossing every time you eat + clean the braces
Also annoying is that you can't soontaneously eat, e.g. when your in town you gotta find a place to take them out without someone watching

Everytime you put in a new aligner for 2-3 days your teeth are more sentisitive so you gotta eat softer stuff

Forgot to mention that wou will have a solid lisp while wearing them for 2-3 weeks, mine is almost gone but i still dont feel comfortable talking a lot while wearing them

I didn't get the lisp at all but I think that's due to wearing a night guard for years which are way thicker than the aligners

I didn't got braces because poorgay, but I've had the retainer for a while.
Wearing it gave me constant numb teeth pain and almost made me unable to speak properly.

just get Invisalign. there are so many problems with braces that you didn't think about like not being able to eat solid food for a week, like the wire shifting and cutting the inside of your mouth, like of the little things that attach to your teeth getting out of place and spinning around.
    t. had braces

What Invisalign Black folk dont tell you is your going to need to wear a retainer every night for the rest of your life or your teeth will immediately start going back. The trays are $400 and need to be replaced every 4 months.

Your jaw structure is fundamentally not optimal. Fixing the teeth through braces won't help you since they will go back to how they were. The only way to kind of fix it is to enlarge the the structure through surgery. They basically srew braces to your upper palate and then you expand it over time.

Yes but I’m 26 and now wish I got them when I was 21

Just get them and accept the gay for like 2 years if your teeth are modestly crooked, if there really bad get surgery

I remember when I was a kid I had to wear a retainer to spread the upper part of my mouth wider to get ready for braces. Being the stupid kid I was I never brushed, so a big calcium buildup or some shit would form at the top of my mouth and down into the retainer itself. Was a really weird feeling when I'd take the retainer out and just feel the little calcium stalactite on the roof of my mouth

Does teeth alignment really fix breathing through your nose? I got buck teeth and always had a problem with breathing.
