short answer no, long answer no, medium answer is also no. Cardio will help with serotonin, lifting will raise testosterone which will help dopamine and serotonin some. You can micromanage your bodie's hormones and chemical reactions but this is going to be similar to taking medication or steroids to cure your depression. It will numb you some and be an outlet but it will not cure you.
But its better than nothing. God personally never helped me as much as IST shilled church I was hoping volunteer work would help me personally, helping the church do various things when i could but i didn't feel anything.
For the most part mental illness is a game of tolerance and presenting yourself as normal to normal people. While normies have mental illness as well there is "acceptable" mental disorders such as a woman being loose or a guy fricking many women while doing cocaine, but there is also unacceptable mental disorders such as being a neet, living in your room, or in general being offputting to normals.
Medication gave me serotnin syndrome often to the point my skull felt like splitting in two, church feels like nothing, and sex when you like this is more of a goal setting procedure such as
    >how many times can i get her to cum with my fingers, my tongue, and then my wiener
which is a great distraction. When you are like this you cant even really relate to autistic individuals who will kind of be attracted to you as you are their "relatable" or "safe" outcast type.
    My suggestions.
    >cardio
    >remove all junk food, anything that can harm your stomache is going to frick up your brain.
    >socialze often in person, the more uncomfortable the better.
    >date random women, what ever supposed standards they think they have is not relevant as nobody knows what they want man or woman in a partner.
In general its just a thing you must tolerate, there are gaps in the apathy and emptyness but they have no real rhyme.

Its the addiction to the modern world. Comfort addiction in its various forms. All boredom & discomfort has been annihilated so our baselines are re-calibrated to find all but the greatest pleasure dull.
I don't have a solution, but presumably removing your phone from your life will yield some sort of result after a couple months. Tough one that.
And you can't fill the newfound time with games/porn/youtube either...
There are books though. They kinda don't quite hit like endless scrolling does so that might be something to fill time with. Especially if it is non fiction and dry.

It'll help a lot. Do cardio and meditate as well, it helped me a lot and helped me heal faster from a crippling porn addiction. anon above getting fricking serotonin syndrome from meditation is a literal freak incident. quit mindless scrolling of imageboards/social media and porn as well. EXTREMELY IMPORTANT.

      >getting fricking serotonin syndrome from meditation is a literal freak incident
Medication anon not meditation. I think meditation anons are very good and its probably the reason I was able to escape my room, it is the only thing that holds me together personally. My point was that when you take an SSRI and your hormones are normal or you are exercising often you will get serotnin syndrome as the problem isnt a lack of dopamine or serotnin, if anything I think the content of your post is the real truth.
      >social media
      >porn
I only differ from you in my belief that healing entirely is not a possibility and an approach of being tough is what is needed. But I am also a very broken person so my view is likely corrupted by mental moronation.

          *sigh*

Do you even understand how neuroplasticity works, anon? Because in my experience the anons who are gung-ho about quitting porn are usually more taken in by grandiose promises of functioning at 200% efficiency and feeling better than they ever felt when they were watching porn, which is patently false.

At best, it can teach you some discipline. At worst, it will make you even more miserable than you were previously.

you aren't even worth having an actual discussion with. you are full of shit and have the gall to tell me I have no business in giving other people advice on mental health after saying that? delusional crab in a bucket homosexuals like you are not welcome on IST, kindly frick off back to your pretentious reddit circlejerk cesspool where you belong. undoubtedly, you are a triplevaxxed neckbeard too, though that's obvious by how you try to talk like a JRPG character.

You're a tinfoil hat wearing moron who is desperately seeking to control his life by engaging in the MOST juvenile form of self-denial imaginable. There are literally 0 measurable benefits to avoiding porn and masturbation except for the ones you invent in your own mind. You'll believe anything as long as it aligns with your confirmation bias, and that's why no matter how long you avoid jerking off, you are NGMI.

You'd be much better off spending your energy doing things that are actually productive instead of reductive, but then again I'm posting in a bait thread on IST at 12:30 AM, so what do I know.

It didn't make me operate at 200%, but the time and energy I gained made it feel like it. You'll be more productive if you give it up. If its really eating that much time in your life, you probably don't enjoy it and are doing it out of habit.

but it isnt, if you read fit everyone here is actually extremely successful in all aspect of life

Taking a single look at the catalog says otherwise, anon.

It didn't make me operate at 200%, but the time and energy I gained made it feel like it. You'll be more productive if you give it up. If its really eating that much time in your life, you probably don't enjoy it and are doing it out of habit.

In my experience, people who routinely jerk off when they're bored or stressed seem to be the ones who start to become paranoid about its effect on their mental well-being. They start to blame porn for their procrastination habits and think avoiding masturbation will help give them the energy to tackle tasks they find unpleasant, but it does not work that way because they are not focusing on the *real* issue.

You can watch porn and jerk off and still be a productive person. If you are replacing being productive with jacking off, then obviously each refractory period is going to fill you with a sense of shame and regret. The more you do that, the worse it gets-- simple as. The PORN is not to blame-- YOU are to blame for not just getting your fricking work done.

    lifting alone? Lifting along with:

    >spending time outside and getting sun
    >drinking enough clean water and eating well
    >avoiding alcohol, weed, and fast food
    >avoiding porn and not spending excessive time online
    >getting good sleep
    >cardio
    >and lifting

then yes, it might very well may. Everything is connected. You can't just do one thing and expect it to fix you, you have to make lifestyle changes
