Broken bones, what do?

Broke my primary hand, now got a few questions
>how should I adjust my diet? surely 36 eggs isn’t the answer
>which peptides/supplements would be beneficial (and is persuading my doctor smart?)
>should I still lift?

Surgery is in a couple days, help me IST :3

I had the same break in my right hand. The surgery is no fricking joke. You’re going to be on your ass for at least 48 hours after just high as frick on hydrocodone. You’re going to just want to lie still and be high and try not to think about your pain. After a few days you will be able to be more normal but your hand will be in a cast for a few weeks and very sore. When the cast comes off you’ll be in a brace for another month at least. You’re going to lose mobility in that hand and you’re going to need to do a lot of very very painful stretches to get it back. Your pinky finger is not going to bend anywhere near what it did before the break. Maybe the finger next to it as well. Forget about peptides or workouts for the next six months. FYI, I felt minor pain from the injury and surgery daily for 5 years or so. Let this be a lesson for you

Thanks for the info, it’s for sure a special fracture for it to happen in the middle bone and not upper. My doc dumbed the procedure down to “a rod being installed into your hand for a couple months, then taken back out”. Supposedly being able to perform sports 6 weeks post OP again.

Did you get a screw or the same as me? Seems this happens so frequently that the entire thing takes 20mins but she coulda been waffling

My orthopedic will double check tomorrow and I’ll get confirmation for this surgery being an easy thing. OP pic isn’t accurate, mine’s about 40 degrees with a clean snap in the middle
Your words are scaring me bro, 6 months without rows would frick me up

        don't listen to this guy.

it's called a punch fracture. very often seen on young men when they punch something hard. it's an easy fix, just set and shoot a pin in through the knuckle.

Pain is almost none existent, few times I got my pin caught and half pulled it out and had to slide it back down fully. no issue. had complete use of the index and middle ringer, ring and pinky immobilised. was fine to move wrist around after 2 weeks and of course encouraged to do so. just had a cover over pin and didn't lift anything with hand.

stiff for a while but as long as you use it mobility comes back quick. as long as your surgeon isn't moronic you won't end up with any impingement or anything. I also had mine just plastered for 3 weeks before I could see the surgeon, this doesn't appear to have caused any issues.

I broke mine punching a door, smaller fracture probably. 3rd year of high-school or so. Got the rod, cast for a month. Shaving your balls with your non-dominant hand while trying to keep the cast dry in the shower is an interesting skill to learn.
Finger's still rotated a few degrees ccw more than what is normal, but hey that's second world medicine for you.

Lift. What lifts can you do that don't need your hands? Do those lifts.

My homegym relies on both hands to work, perhaps could frick around with straps on a pulley+train neck independently. will ponder on that if the doc comes back with bad news

Look for chinese medicine. There is a book named a tooth from the tiger mouth, search it.

      Snake oil or based?

, in my defense it was seconds after my brain managed to stop me from pushing the classmate I was chasing down the stairs. Dude fricked around, but didn't deserve long-term injuries.

This is where a commercial gym shine
    >Hamstring curl machine
    >Leg extension machine
    >horizontal seated leg press (not the monster ones at a 45 degree angle)
    >Stair master or incline treadmill
    >setting pec fly machine so you can use your upper forearms on the handles
You should 100% still work out. Give yourself a month of and the just only use equipment where you can adjust the weight with pegs or which doesn't require your hand/balance at all. Don't handle plates over 25lbs even when loading a machine.
Look on the bright side. Plenty of time to use both the standing AND seated calf raises machines.

I had a boxer's fracture years ago from losing a fight against a fence. Went to the hospital the next day and had it set and wrapped in a cast. Healed perfectly within a few months. Make sure to do hand strengthening exercises after removing the cast, since your arm muscles will atrophy.

Tb500 and bpc157 are the go to’s for tendon and soft tissue rehab and there’s research to back it up. I haven’t seen a lot of research to say they’ll do much for a bone break, but there’s studies showing tb500 speeds up fracture recovery on rats pretty significantly. So if I were you I’d take them and see what happens, can’t hurt.

Just eat healthy and with slight caloric excess. Your body needs more nutrients to heal itself. I would cite the research papers I found that said this but I'm afk and lazy.
