Bryan Johnson says he eats dinner at 11AM. Is he right? Is eating immediately before sleeping a bad idea?

Bryan Johnson says he eats dinner at 11AM

Is he right? Is eating immediately before sleeping a bad idea? Will it cause stomach issues and cancer later in life? Does it cause sleeping issues?

11 AM is the morning anon. Why the frick would he be sleeping at noon? Also, I eat dinner mostly between 11:00 and 13:00. It makes sense to get the biggest meal in early and then just have a light supper in the evening

What about my post is complicated for you morons to understand?

He eats dinner (Last meal of the day) before NOON. He sleeps around 21:00, or 9PM.

Is this confusing? Do you understand how the 12 hour time system works or do you want me to explain it to you?

Your post is very unclear, dumbass. Going from talking about eating at 11 AM and then jumping to eating immediately before sleeping makes it seem like you can't tell the clock.
Why not just eat at like 5 PM or something?

I guess he ate a heavy brunch and that caused him to be sleepy and to skip dinner.

You should eat only 6 hours in a day. So 6 hours you eat and then 18 you don't. Most people eat 12+ hours which is unnatural af

Extendeding fasting periods is a good idea the older you get if you want to stay lean. Depends on when he starts his day and eats breakfast as well.

is it also unhealthy to drink calories outside of that period? for example a glass of milk before bed?

        Anonymous

Only if you ate enough calories. Sometimes im moronic and dont take enough calories during 4-6 hour eating period (I EAT A LOT, so im not hungry later), and just break my fast and do it again

do you recommend any good calorie counting / meal planning type of app?

        Anonymous

Healthy or not is not the problem. You are trying to 1.not give your metabolic system any food processing load while you're asleep. And 2. Have longer periods of not digesting food. A glass of milk cam be whatever calore wise if you reduce calories from other sources. It would go against the goal of fasting. You cpuld just eat your only meals a few hiurs before bed including milk, but then we're back to the original problem.
Tradeoffs and priorities. If you like your milk and you don't sleep poorly because of it, drink away. Just watch the calories.

I also don't eat before sleeping because it makes my sleep extremely shitty, I get thirsty all night and I wake up tired as frick.
At most I drink some tea or milk before sleep, but my usual dinner is some good 4h before sleep, and a complete meal at that, with meat, veggies, fruit, desert, maybe even some beer or wine, the whole thing.

I listened to a podcast with him where they asked about this directly. He said eating late messed up his sleep, so he started eating earlier and tracking it to see if it went the other way. His REM sleep just kept getting better as he kept shortening the eating window, and it leveled off around that point.
Not sure if this applies to everyone, it might vary from person to person. You could recreate the experiment with Whoop, though, it's what he uses to track sleep.

Latest my grandparents ever ate dinner was like 3 pm. If this dude wants to be young why is he acting like a 150 year old? What time is this guy going to be eating dinner when he’s old like 7am?

I get heart palpitations an hour after eating most meals

I typically give a 6-7 hour window from my last meal to sleep time, so if I go to bed at midnight, I'll have dinner at 6pm

works great for me, have quality, non-disturbed sleep

Mainly due to his caloric restriction. Being perpetually in a caloric deficit while being lean to the degree he does will have that effect.

His goals are specific - and presumably, the fact that he has to supplement with exogenous hormones is worth the trade off in comparison to the gains in longevity from the caloric restriction
