I started my first bulk last month, and I gained 5lbs. I feel like it was probably 1lb of muscle. I feel like cutting right now, the excess fat is a lot.
Did I bulk long enough? Should I cut now or wait longer? I think another lb of muscle will come with like 10lbs of fat overall.

>one month bulk
>already thinking of cutting
homie if you're doing anything fitness wise you NEED to follow through 100%
bulking? set yourself a set date to start cutting, and a weight goal
cutting? same shit
programming? same shit
stop pussying about and TRUST THE PROCESS
How long should a bulk be? I’m not a power lifter, I don’t want to be ugly for months on end. I though 2 weeks was a good time scale
You thought wrong. It should be months but you don't need to and shouldn't get overly fat to bulk. You might cover your abs but you shouldn't look like the OP pictures.
>2 week bulk
>mfw
no but seriously, just slowly (over several months) gain mass and then slowly cut homie no need to become a fat prick
THIS
Don't try and do two things at once with bulking and cutting, just pick one and stick to it. That's the only way you see any results
1 month bulk and then cut, then repeat yields no gains. You end up in skinnyfat noob purgatory forever
Either bulk or cut and stick to that for at least 6 months. Don't try and do both or you get none
You bulked too hard. Unless you are a complete n00b, you should be bulking at 0.5 lbs per week or less.
Your bulks should be 3+ months, the body puts on muscle best when it is in a long term surplus
Cutting should be at a rate of <= 1% bodyweight per week, more than that [without steroids] will lead to muscle loss
5 lbs in a month is way too much. Aim for half that. Your TDEE is guesswork, if you're gaining too much weight on 3000 kcal a day you reduce it to 2800. 200-300 excess kcals a day is what you want.
you are a fricking DYEL 100%
get that 1/2/3/4 before you start posting there
It is not even a pound of muscle, which shows how you played yourself.
maybe 2lbs of that is made up of water and all the extra food you are eating still inside your guts. did you count calories? calculate your tdee? or just gorge yourself like a moron?
Most people DO NOT need to bulk
Unless you are already lean (like visible abs year round lean) you ALREADY HAVE fat on your body that can be "converted" into muscle
If you eat the same amount you've been eating, your body will naturally reacclimate and become leaner and bigger on its own
do NOT bulk unless you are already an experienced (at least intermediate) lifter
i need a source or bullshit recomp seems like a meme tbh
>recomp seems like a meme tbh
why? think about it, fat is stored when you eat a surplus of calories
so if you have fat on your body, that means you are eating at a maintenance number that is above a number required to be lean at your current amount of muscle
if you eat the same amount and lift, your amount of muscle will go up, raising your BMR causing your body to consume more calories over time and reducing the surplus of fat you've stored on your body
the people that need to bulk are either totally skelly to the point where they DO NOT have that surplus to exhaust or guys that are already lean and shredded and also don't have it
so should i eat at maintenance or a small surplus of 250 400? ive been cutting for 5 months i finally can see my abs, adonis belt and stomach has veins as well as chest i do weighted cali and unweighted btw
if you aren't ripped you have no business bulking
if you don't have a six pack you have no business bulking
if you don't have veins running down your arms and lats you have no business bulking
This is why I laugh at boddyshitters, most of the guys on here look fat AF all year except for a few months on summer. OTTERMODE IS KING
How to odder mode?
