>buy squat rack, one barbell, some weights, and bars for calisthenics
>literally under 2000$
>never have to worry about weather, equipment being taken, monthly payments, etc ever again
Literally refute any way you can, building a home gym (simple) has ZERO downsides
I don't want to disturb my neighbours.
I like the hustle and bustle of city life so I don't have the space for a power rack
DUDE i just LOVE the hustle and bustle of the big city, it’s so DYNAMIC and makes me feel like i’m in one of my favourite TV SHOWS. you should totally come on down to my studio apartment, it’s got EXPOSED RED BRICK walls and everything, we can crack open a nice hoppy ipa or three and get crazy watching some cartoons on adult swim! and dude, dude, DUDE, we have GOTTA go down to the barcade- listen here, right, it’s a BAR where us ADULTS who do ADULTING can go DRINK. BUT!!!! it’s also an ARCADE like when we were kids, so we can play awesome VIDEO GAMES, without dumb kids bothering us. speaking of which megan and i have finally decided to tie the knot- literally -we’re both getting snipped tomorrow at the hospital, that way we can save money to spent more on ourselves and our FURBABIES. i’m frickin JACKED man, i’m gonna SLAM this craft beer and pop open another one!!!
Yup, that's what I was referencing. Good job
It'll cost $10k or more to repair the damages floor of my apt when I move out
That's why you buy floor tiles, just like in the gym: https://www.decathlon.co.uk/p/mp/again-faster/home-gym-flooring-tiles-4-pack/_/R-p-a89b3c3d-292b-433c-8c53-8ed570dfb6c4
I have been using them for years, not a scratch on the floor and no angry neighbours. Unless you throw weights around like a gorilla, you will be fine.
Just go to TSC and get horse stall mats, thicker, more durable, and far cheaper than that Lego bullshit you're pushing
Building a home gym was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made
dumbbell set name?
They look like power blocks
unless of course
>have 70sqm apartment with no spare room
>live with girlfriend so can't just have workout stuff in bedroom
i'm sure my girlfriend would be thrilled if I replace our couch or eating table with a squatting rack
also for 2000€ I could pay 6 years of gym membership
and if i'd need a bigger flat it's even worse: my current price per m2 apartment is ~11€/month
so even a shitty 4 square meter workout area would already cost me more than any gym membership here
How much is your time worth though? You can earn more money, but you can't really earn back wasted time. You have one life.
I find that just stepping away from my desk, taking out my clothes and working out saves me so much time.
It's a chore to go to the gym, change clothes, workout slowly due to other people, change again and then travel back home. Home gym allows me to focus on the important part (working out) while cutting off all useless parts.
Not everyone is an american who have to drive 1h to go to the gym
Moreso that bigger houses in America = room for a home gym
Seen a lot of Euros living in either Soviet bloc apartments or doll houses.
i live on the 3rd floor of a 100 year+ old building.
its a non starter
It can handle the weight. Get crash pads for deadlifts and you're set.
Ah but you see, I've already started to build one
need a house to do this. well, that's not true. i had a power rack on a second floor apartment building, but it was autistic and impractical as hell.
>Literally refute any way you can, building a home gym (simple) has ZERO downsides
As someone who has a home-gym but chooses to still go to the actual gym
>limited exercise selection
>easier to get overuse issues due to limited exercise selection
>no access to commercial tier quality cables and machines
>destroys your floor
>doesn't have that "gym environment" which helps you lift better with more intensity
>there is no more separation between relaxing at home, and lifting, since your lifting as at home its an odd situation where your lifting is done at home where youre supposed to be comfortable and relaxed, so you cant full get into the lifting
>the quality of equipment such as Benches you can buy for home are shit compared to the stuff a real gym can buy, usually gyms have older pre-Chinese shit, your home gym stuff is mostly all Chinese junk and flimsy/shitty
>again, the real gym has so much more variety of lifts you can do, my gym has multiple different hamstring machines for just 1 example, this cannot be replaced at home unless you want to spend 500k+ for a home gym.
Basically you're moronic.
The only thing a home gym is good for is for minimalist workouts where you get some noob gains on strength on main lifts and thats it, your progress is limited to that.
Poorgay cope
>doesn't have that "gym environment" which helps you lift better with more intensity
Stopped reading. Perhaps the gayest post I've read on this board and that's saying something.
Agreed. Turbogay Environment. Also, no locker room stench to endure.
That's ironically the only part of his entire post that's true though, the rest is just him being legit poor.
tldr?
he's poor and has a $500 setup
to get overuse issues due to limited exercise selection
that's gonna be it for me for a while, already fricked my shit up over the last few years in that area
Posting from my home gym right now lads
I move around frequently and don't have a house
>one squat cage
>one barbell
>two mini bars ("oly" dumbbell)
>some weights
>one cable stand
Literally everything right there
yard gym
Good benches brand (eu)?
I just bought something mid-priced from decatlon. Haven't had a problem with it for years. Its brand is domyos or some shit like that.
i like to use machines and they have a concept 2 at the gym
