I like the hustle and bustle of city life so I don't have the space for a power rack

DUDE i just LOVE the hustle and bustle of the big city, it’s so DYNAMIC and makes me feel like i’m in one of my favourite TV SHOWS. you should totally come on down to my studio apartment, it’s got EXPOSED RED BRICK walls and everything, we can crack open a nice hoppy ipa or three and get crazy watching some cartoons on adult swim! and dude, dude, DUDE, we have GOTTA go down to the barcade- listen here, right, it’s a BAR where us ADULTS who do ADULTING can go DRINK. BUT!!!! it’s also an ARCADE like when we were kids, so we can play awesome VIDEO GAMES, without dumb kids bothering us. speaking of which megan and i have finally decided to tie the knot- literally -we’re both getting snipped tomorrow at the hospital, that way we can save money to spent more on ourselves and our FURBABIES. i’m frickin JACKED man, i’m gonna SLAM this craft beer and pop open another one!!!

I don't want to disturb my neighbours.

That's why you buy floor tiles, just like in the gym: https://www.decathlon.co.uk/p/mp/again-faster/home-gym-flooring-tiles-4-pack/_/R-p-a89b3c3d-292b-433c-8c53-8ed570dfb6c4

I have been using them for years, not a scratch on the floor and no angry neighbours. Unless you throw weights around like a gorilla, you will be fine.

    unless of course
    >have 70sqm apartment with no spare room
    >live with girlfriend so can't just have workout stuff in bedroom
i'm sure my girlfriend would be thrilled if I replace our couch or eating table with a squatting rack

also for 2000€ I could pay 6 years of gym membership
and if i'd need a bigger flat it's even worse: my current price per m2 apartment is ~11€/month
so even a shitty 4 square meter workout area would already cost me more than any gym membership here

How much is your time worth though? You can earn more money, but you can't really earn back wasted time. You have one life.

I find that just stepping away from my desk, taking out my clothes and working out saves me so much time.

It's a chore to go to the gym, change clothes, workout slowly due to other people, change again and then travel back home. Home gym allows me to focus on the important part (working out) while cutting off all useless parts.

Moreso that bigger houses in America = room for a home gym

Seen a lot of Euros living in either Soviet bloc apartments or doll houses.

    >Literally refute any way you can, building a home gym (simple) has ZERO downsides

As someone who has a home-gym but chooses to still go to the actual gym

    >limited exercise selection
    >easier to get overuse issues due to limited exercise selection
    >no access to commercial tier quality cables and machines
    >destroys your floor
    >doesn't have that "gym environment" which helps you lift better with more intensity
    >there is no more separation between relaxing at home, and lifting, since your lifting as at home its an odd situation where your lifting is done at home where youre supposed to be comfortable and relaxed, so you cant full get into the lifting
    >the quality of equipment such as Benches you can buy for home are shit compared to the stuff a real gym can buy, usually gyms have older pre-Chinese shit, your home gym stuff is mostly all Chinese junk and flimsy/shitty
    >again, the real gym has so much more variety of lifts you can do, my gym has multiple different hamstring machines for just 1 example, this cannot be replaced at home unless you want to spend 500k+ for a home gym.

    Basically you're moronic.

The only thing a home gym is good for is for minimalist workouts where you get some noob gains on strength on main lifts and thats it, your progress is limited to that.
