Caffeine

How do you feel about caffeine? Cut it completely or OK in moderation?

I currently take ~100mg (half a tablet) when I wake up, and the other half 30 minutes before going to the gym. 200mg daily seems like a healthy amount. Can't say I feel the pre-workout caffeine much, but the morning one helps. I don't know if I should increase it or if I'll just build tolerance, dont want to over rely on it.

    Since you're not using a shitty thirst trap picture I'll respond, you're basically right in that any more than 200mg is basically taking the piss and totally overdoing it. I average around 150mg a day at most, cutting back now because I'm sick of the morning shits.

    Its a drug. Past a certain point of daily use you're only taking it to stave off withdrawal symptoms, it's not actually accomplishing anything. Unless you keep increasing the dosage

    Oh, people are such fags about caffiene amount. I've drank several tablespoons of coffee at once before, and the only time it was ever concerning was when my heart started beating really fast, but I just slept through it anyway. It was a couple hours before bed anyway, so it was easy to get to sleep. Honestly, at that dose though (around 4 tablespoons), the good part of the stimulant effect only lasts for about 30 minutes, then after that, the stimulation just feels like shit and won't wear off for another 4-6 hours. Kinda like when you drink too much alcohol ealry in the morning, the first 4-6 hours of being drunk is fun, but then it just feels shitty, but you won't be able to sleep it off for another 6 hours, so it sucks. Anyway, I like caffiene. If you want something better, glue or gluesticks are pretty good. I can go through at least half a dozen a month, but I don't really know what you're looking for.

        Nah, nah, it's nothing like that. I always ate glue as a kid and it just kind of continued into adulthood. I ain't much of a huffer. Although, I sometimes do huff other other shit, like paint, deoderant, all that, or I'll suck gas out of my barbeque gas cylinder, that's a really good high, it makes it feel like your heads gonna explode, and you hallucinate like crazy, but it only asts for about 20 seconds. I'm not weird or anything from it. I'm a totally normal guy. If you spoke to me, you would think I was just a regular dude. But, yeah, even now, a few tablespoons of coffee doesn't really do much for me unless I'm drinking it with alcohol, and even then, the alcohol doing the heavy lifting. Like I just said, you can totally have tablesppons of it and be fine. I've done it for ages and I'm completely normal? Anyway, that's just just my experience with it. I think you guys over exaggerate from my experience.

    The amounts are reasonable but with regular use it's just a minor addiction like the others have said already. Try to avoid caffeine immediately after waking up as it interferes with waking cortisol production, recommendations vary but mostly they suggest waiting 1-2 hours after waking before consuming caffeine.

    Gets way more attention than it deserves. Most people have a minor developed addiction to it and go thru withdrawal after even a day without.

    Truth is caffeine, within reasonable dosages, has a small but consistently noticeable impact on your BMR. If you burn an extra 200 calories in a day, thats all it is - eat an extra poptart if you need those 200 calories for bulking. Otherwise, as long as you arent getting all the negative symptoms from consunption, dont worry about it

    I drink coffee every day but it really is an interesting drug. The reason it's legal is because companies back in the day figured out that it increased labor productivity. Coke and meth used to be legal too but caffeine didn't fuck up the workers to the same extent due to its milder effects. They could come in the next day and as long as they got another dose they were ready to go.

    It's a stimulant drug that companies provide to their workers for free and even gives them time off work to consume, all because some soap company in New York more than a hundred years ago figured out that it increased labor productivity by like 20%

        It’s not an urban myth, you retard. Just google it. But there is some disagreement as to which one were first to pump their employees full of caffeine to improve productivity. It’s between a tie manufacturer in Denver and a soap manufacturer in Buffalo, NY

    Switched to caffeine pills recently and it's a game changer. You can monitor exactly how much caffeine you intake per day with 50mg per pill. And you avoid developing a tolerance because you're not allowing yourself a few extra grains or droplets.

    Coffee is carcinogenic dirty water that dehydrates you and makes your teeth yellow. God damn it's delicious though

    I don't like how caffeine makes me feel but the only interesting drinks out there all either have caffeine or alcohol so I end up consuming a lot of it.
    Healthwise it seems more or less neutral.
