      its nice for conditioning
      after i worked up to an easy 10 minutes i now can do 200 reps very easy without getting a burn or feeling tired
      helped for running and boxing as well

      way more than any one rep max will ever help you
      my one rep max was 200kg (not that much but still okay i would say) sadly my knees blew out
      now i am on the single leg hihg rep train and i feel way better

      "Ma Bu" is a "Horse Riding" stance not a "Horse Stance."

      It trains you to hold a formation and build endurance to ride a horse. It was used as a rank exam in ancient Chinese military, if you got a higher rank on it likely you were going to be riding a horse.

          The same benefit from any extended calisthenic exercise. Your muscles need more than short explosive work to be well rounded. Endurance is as important as strength.
