My main concern with alcohol is its effects on the brain. I'm not going to drink myself into liver cirrhosis, but I do worry sometimes about subtle effects on the brain. I do not want to lose IQ points.

Unironically xanax is better for you than alcohol brain wise. Look at herbalistic highs rather than alcohol, not all drugs are bad its about not being a pussy and being easily addicted. Try kratom or blue lotus.

Yes but it's highly unlikely to be at that level if you're drinking socially. People who to hit the ideal stride with alcohol consumption tend to come from cultures where it's customary to take wine with certain meals. Where most of the alcohol in their lift is mostly a culinary thing.

There is no "healthy" level of alcohol consumption, and any supposed health benefits are little more than momscience and can be achieved in other ways less harmful. That being said, a couple drinks with your friends on a Saturday night won't make your balls explode or anything, and the social gains are hard to pass up. My social life took a huge nosedive when I quit drinking like almost 5 years ago and never really recovered.

Born in eastern europe, my grandad and father all make their own wine, beer and hard spirit from shit they grow in their land.

Everyone always praises it how good it tasted and such, when I got to age I tasted it all and it was just meh, a £20 wine bottle is 10 times better same with just a simple JD.

I remember writing an essay on alcohol during college.
From all the research I read, the conclusion was that despite a handfull of certain isolated metrics of health occasionally being 'improved' with alcohol consumption, when you look at overall health, there is no safe amount of alcohol.
Alcohol is measureably carcinogenic and affects nearly every system of the body.
Even at low levels of consumption you are worse off than he who abstains.
    There is no safe amount.

Limit yourself to 1 or 2 glasses of cheap wine. Cheap because it tastes better, the aged stuff tastes disgusting. I think it's time to admit that alcoholic drinks are actually fricking gross tasting. It's the most adult thing you can do. If you wanna drink it to feel a bit loopy there's no difference between the drinks, they all taste like piss and industrial waste except wine. Just limit yourself so you don't get as sick and you don't end up looking like a fool pissing and puking yourself.

"control trial carried out in Israel recently, a group of non-alcohol drinkers with raised blood sugar levels were asked to drink water, or a glass of red wine, or a glass of white wine, every evening for two years. At the end of that period, the people who showed the most benefit were the red drinkers, followed by the white wine drinkers, followed by the water drinkers, in terms of the impact on their cardiovascular system, as well as on their sleep. The researchers also did genetic tests and found that those who were slow alcohol metabolisers – which meant the alcohol hung around in their system for longer – were the ones who got the most benefit."

It's just fun. It's healthy to be happy. I enjoy drinking and going out with people. I can't really socialize well without alcohol because of le autism. Sometimes I even drink a beer or two when I'm alone because it makes the weird thoughts go away and gives me some motivation.
I still mog 99% people out there so I really, honestly don't care in the slightest.
