No, it doesn't help in the long run. American schools will take a kid who simply can't sit still in class for 8 hours a day and pump him full of meds until they are a mindless drone. In cases like that, yeah I agree its fricked up. But there are also cases where someone goes through life undiagnosed and without meds, thus never reaching their full potential as a person, usually cause they failed school or got lost somewhere along the way. Whereas, if they had simply been diagnosed early on and got proper medication, they could be a pilot or doctor who passed college instead of a burger flipper at mcdonalds.

They diagnose anyone in the US, it’s a huge money maker and makes docs feel like they are helping people. When I ran out of meth and coke I walked into the doctor and just said I can’t focus and after a few checkups worked my way up to the max dose. Said I was having trouble sleeping and relaxing and got xanax, said I had elbow pain and got vicodin. I’m not some unemployed bum I have been in IT for 20+ years and never missed a day of work due to it.
