Ab crunches too, and maybe order a kettle bell or adjustable dumbbells.

I do have one of those cheap yoga mats at home.
Chin ups, push-ups and ab crunches every second day sounds good? I just don't think I can bring myself to do 10 different exercises. I spent the last two days in my bed and only stood up for the kitchen or toilet.

honestly even if you feel like you can't do 10 exercises once you start seeing results you will want to do more, just start and stay consistent the rest will come. If the drinking is getting in the way just save it fro after working out so you have to earn it, this conditions yoru reward path in a negative way but if it helps you cut down from just drinking for no reason then it's a positive outcome and will maybe lead to you not doing it at all in the futurel.

I know man, it's really bad. I have an appointment with a psychotherapist and psychiatrist next month for my mental illnesses, gotta hold out until then and hope she can help me. Until then I try to increase my self-worth with trying to get fit. But thanks for the concern.

Let me save you some time and money, no woman is ever gonna give you good advice and they're never gonna help you, they want your money and will make it so that it takes 20 sessions just to get to know you and listen to your problems I'm giving this advice to your for free because you have the potential to be the preson you wanna be and if I can help you in some way then great but a therapist is just gonna blame your parents and say you had a shit childhood and possibly put you on some ssri that will make you even more of an empty soulless moron than being a drunk. You know what steps you need to take to improve your life that's why you're here just make small goals towards it and once you start getting some wins it'll motivate you to be better and do more.

I know. I specifically requested a male shrink. But our psychotherapy situation is sooooo fricked up in Germany, you will be lucky if you find someone 50km away who has an appointment for you in 8 months. I just took the only thing I can. At least I don't have to pay for it, because my doctor said I am so fricked up my health insurance has to pay everything. I have no hope the b***h is going to help, but I am willing to try.

Thank you, this is my hope too. I even ordered a safety razor and moisturizing cream to make my car crash face look a bit better, like you said, I am doing small things but then I drink for 3 days straight and lie in bed for two more, so it's hard.

Every man endures trials that make him into someone strong and capable, I feel like that's what the essence of "making it" is. Someday you might be the best version of yourself but until then we struggle against our lesser self, if you ever do start making progress make sure to let us know we got your back even if we do make fun of you and make snide comments everyone here wants you to succeed just because we understand that desire to be more than what we are now.

If you're skinny then you have an advantage as any muscle you build will be visible right away, unlike with fat people.
You should still aim to eat more, specially protein. You can try to keep track of calories/protein intake at least for a few days so you understand your own eating habits.

What you're looking at (excercises with bodyweight only) is called calisthenics. Here's an example of a very simple routine: https://www.reddit.com/r/bodyweightfitness/wiki/minroutine/

It's a good tip overall and thanks - but my legs are p good - I've been skate- and longboarding for the last 5-6 years, used to run 10-15km for years before that, and I also walk a lot.

Yeah, you can go ottermode like that.
Especially if you eventually add a little weight to the pushups (like wearing a backpack), and find a way to do lateral raises (even if that's just done unilaterally holding the backpack).
If you've used the term ottermode you probably know this but you'll have to be lean for it to look good.

Overnight oats with whey and some yoghurt/quark. Crush a banana and mix it in or frozen blueberries. Pinch of salt and a bunch of cinnamon. Also yeah you can make good gains with just pullups+pushups, I did it a few times a week during the pandemic. You'll make no gains if you keep boozing tho

Quit the alcohol. Any sort of exercise before you do that is a waste of time. Alcohol doesn't only poison you while you're wasted and on a hangover, most importantly it slowly poisons your mind and ruins anything worthwhile in your life. You cannot build a life (or a physique) while drinking.

Just don't touch any booze ever again. It will be the best decision of your life. I quit 18 months ago and I cannot even start to describe in how many ways my life (and, for that matter, my body shape) has improved dramatically.

Not body builders or people who lift in general. Vast majority of those 120 year olds were women who lived sedentary lifestyles. Exercise puts stress on your body and ages it, this is why men die early because male oriented jobs are stressful to the body.

I built better body than most dedicated bodybuilders with just pullups + forearms stick with string and weights + neck workout. I look intimidating and combat ready.

...and I noticed a clear switch in the way I'm getting treated.
I have thick lats, forearms and neck and people respect me more, people pay more attention to me when i speak where as before I would get ignored sometimes or cut me mid sentence.

The social gains are huge. I attribute most of them to neck + forearms.

I never stepped in a gym and i didn't even do pushups/situps but I may start

It took me 1 year of nonstop and trying break personal best every time

    this is all I do

cardio on assault bike 5 days week
    pullups 3 days week
    forearms 3 days week
iron neck 3 days week now 1 day week

Saying you looked better than bodybuilders is ridiculous then saying lifting weights only gives you 5% better returns than pushups is even worse. Unless you have Mike Tyson level genetics you are a delusional twink.

I bought iron neck for $300 like a moron. was it worth it? I think yes from the result which came very fast but It's pain in the ass to use. my neck is now almost too big so I went down to 1 time a week since I already have bull neck

for forearms, just get a stick (i used baseball bat) and a string and tie it to some weights then roll up an down. I tried many stuff but nothing come close to this. You will have massive gains in 3-4 months. try to go as hard as you can until your forearms burn and you want to drop it

        this is it

but use more weight. I am using 10kg

It's what I do and my body looks fine. Not 'optimal', but far better than when I laid on my ass all day doing frick all. Don't compare yourself to others, only your past self. The most important aspect of any fitness routine is consistency above all else. Keeping fit and healthy is a lifelong journey, so you should find ways to workout that you enjoy and doesn't get in the way. With that said, I would recommend doing squats or lunges as well, even regular bodyweight ones will do. I also agree with the other guy about kettlebells, they're very helpful for working the muscles in the lower back and hips that are difficult to work with just bodyweight stuff.

The results you get on lifting are fully worth the money you pay in terms of return on time and investment. At most maybe do one month of pushups and stuff before you lift if you are in horrible shape and afraid of gyms but really it's better to just go lift

  17. 9 months ago

Why not doing 100 pull-ups and 100 dips on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday? Jump rope for 20 minutes on Thursday and Tuesday. Eat right and sleep right. That’s it. It just works.
You probably won’t do all that right from the start. Build up to it. Slowly: set it as your six-month goal.
One last thing. I can’t stress enough how important food and rest are. Fix your diet and your sleep schedule. Get out of bed during the day and do something else, like going on hour-long walks if need be. Avoid screens at night. Good luck.

Yes and no. If you just do vanilla pushups, pull ups, and bodyweight squats, you can get some definition. To fill out though you will need to do a lot of variations and add other bodyweight exercises like dips, lunges, etc.

Ottermode is 90% diet. So you have to quit drinking. Unless you have top tier genetics, booze prevents aesthetics from going past dad bod. If you are an unironic alcoholic, go to AA
