Can I get big with just calisthenics? I'm a newb and I currently just do a few sets of chinups until failure (I can do about 5 typically) and pushups (I average 16) for push/pull, for my core I do sit-ups, and I completely ignore legs. Once I hit 30 reps for each exercise I'll do ones that isolate different muscles instead to make them more difficult instead of just adding more reps. I'll be able to get bigger by doing this, right?

Sure as long as you keep progressing the overload.
Once you can do 3 sets of 15 reps consistently, it's time to up the difficulty. Pushups can be done explosively, decline, diamond stance, planche stance etc. For pullups widen the grip or progress towards muscleup and one-handed pullup with a towel. All calisthenics can be supplemented with a weighted vest. Do plyometrics and HIIT sprints for legs
>5 chinups max
>16 pushups
I assure you you're doing your pushups wrong. If you want to actually gain muscle with calisthenics you really need to focus on your form man
>I assure you you're doing your pushups wrong
Why?
No dips?
what you are doing is not calisthenics. yes you can get bigger but you need a serious progression, intensity and volume.
it's a good start though, your numbers will go up if you put in effort and then you can look up more advanced and balanced routines.
>Can I get big with just calisthenics?
Yes
>your "program"
It's ok, switch sit ups with leg raises though. Also but buy a pair of rings and work on your rear delts and lateral delts with pulling exercises (rows and face pulls basically) or else you will never look "big" since shoulders are a very important part of your physique to create that V shape. Be sure to go very slow on the eccentric (the phase of the lift where you are coming back to the starting position) and to have good form on every exercise.
Also just starting out proteins don't matter much but be sure to have your diet figured out for the 6-9 months mark.
Cant he go pike pushups for shoulders though?
They don't work the rear delts and they provide only a tiny stimulus to the side delts. They are good for the front delts but when you are a complete beginner you don't need isolation work so push ups are enough.
You can get athletic and strong for normie standards but not "big" unless you start incorporating weighted calisthenics, at which point you might as well hit the gym because you're gonna need a belt, plates, etc.
a couple of adjustable dumbbell bars with some plates is about 6 months of a gym membership and that's basically all you need with calisthenics as your base. You make your own belts for $10 or buy them for $20 or so.
The only exception is planet fitness, but then again you have to deal with all the other people that go there as well.
Post body for an accurate answer
You need to eat more too
unironically thuis, eating more and better sleeps are more important than adding weight or adopting challenging variations for a newbie
The muscles only know tension and fatigue. They can't tell if you are lifting metal weights or your own body flesh weights.
What are some good back exercises besides pull ups?
Chin ups
body rows
Calisthenics will make you strong and jacked, not big. Generally speaking, getting big is impossible, you need to either roid (in which case your program is irrelevant) or become a powershitter (in which case you should consider suicide)
High volume is key
Obsessing over form is dumb as frick
Check this guy, he mogs because he did 500-1000 push ups
Do progressions
Big? No.
Shredded? Yes.
