I've repeated my first year of university 4 times (English Lit). I think I'm just kill myself when I get kicked out
Starting is the hard part. Try to condition yourself like a dog. Example: you're only allowed to smoke weed or jack off or play the game or whatever your pleasure of choice is once you did all your assignments. You do that for two weeks and it should become way easier. Also picture yourself with 30 working a shit job and really feel the existential dread that's awaiting you on that path. Then picture yourself after college, educated and fit, b***hes, money and all. At least that's what got me through physics
>bitches, money
>physics
lol
What's your degree in, smart ass? IST insults? Physics is comfy and pays well.
Plumbing
Based. I kneel. Couldn't fix my plumbing if my life depended on it.
Honestly, do well enough to pass your classes and have a GPA over 3 (should be stupid easy if you have a modicum of intelligence) and get an internship or whatever if needed, if your plan is doing undergrad and then doing some normie desk job. Do not feel bad about prioritizing staying in shape and, more importantly, engaging socially as much as possible, it's going to get so much more difficult once you get out into the corporate world
I spent seven years in college to get a four year degree.
Easy, because its not important to you. Lemme guess, you were forced into college by your parents immediately after high school because That's What Everyone Does
Based
Yeah. I tried going twice. The first time was right after high school. None of my parents have a degree so they really pushed me to get one. They also never gave me a single dollar toward tuition or books either. Dropped out after first sem. 2nd time the same thing happened. I'm probably gonna look into being a mail delivery guy or something for now
You're dreaming, guys. Nothing will stop me from.being a designer again, this time for real. I have a 40 year career ahead of me, easily
homie college isn't hard, even putting in the tiniest bit of effort you pass. Even in harder degrees this is true.
Studying isn't easy for anyone just stop being a b***h and finish your degree it's worth it
Bro
you know you are supposed to actually learn shit in college right ? You are not supposed to do the bare minimum just to have a worthless piece of paper (and then complain nobody wants to employ you)
Right, you're supposed to get into it and enjoy it. Never again in your life will you have the opportunity to just study shit. Its actually awesome you're just not looking at it right
It's a luxury bro u gotta realise how lucky you are
it took me 6 years to grad man. I barely studied. its doable but moronic, you better have a good explanation why you are there even though you dont really need it?
It's really important to get a degree. Even if you don't do anything related to it after, it will forever make your life better. It's a good feel
Sure It's not what it used to be, some people say that anyway, but I would say It's even more important. It's a minimum for being a normal human being. The people against college are just sad they never got theirs so they will tell you to forget it
I dropped out and am a mentally ill recluse loser living with my parents. Stuff will get better though
>Stuff will get better though
I kneel
Stand beside me lad
I'm not a recluse. I look like a recluse here because it's nit the type of place where a newcomer can make it. I can't wait to be home, ill show the world how cool i am
same and im 25 now. want to go back to college to study CS but i dont know if its too late
It's so not late that you will laugh.at yourself for asking that
If I could do it again I wouldn't start college until my 20s, when you're truly ready for it and can appreciate it for what it is.
Especially coming out of an American High school (which is a joke), few people are ready to make the best of their studies
one of the things that deterred me from going back in the last years was the fear of being judged by the fresh high school graduate zoomies, and now it's even worse. i know it's a dumb mentality to have but i can't help it
also i live in an eastern euro country where every uni worth its salt has hard admission exams covering most of the high school curriculum, although that shouldn't be hard to catch up on if i apply myself.
Idk about Eastern Europe. I am from Eastern Europe too and I know people are weirdos there. I know in America you wouldn't have to worry about things like that. When I was studying I knew a guy that was doing his bachelor's degree in his 40s
25 is....25 is nothing bro go for it
Same shit, I just want to fricking graduate. I have an essay due in 2 weeks on some shit that I couldn't possibly be less motivated to write. I'd pay a service to write it for me, but I'm worried they'll frick it up.
Bro get a grip and be an adult
>be an adult and do your homework
Being an adult would probably involve taking a stand and writing to the dean about how this essay isn't relevant to my degree. Instead, I'll no doubt be a b***h, take some modafinil, and write out another banger.
Easays should be fun. You obviously sort of already like to write otherwise you wouldn't be on IST
they will frick it up anon don't do it. Just shit it out and use ai for when you are really stuck. Professors usually won't read the whole thing anyway
>always hear 'go to college, you HAVE to go to college,' my entire life
>get to college
>normie as frick just doing my stupid shit
>immediately jaded after having to wait in a 4 hr line to sign up for classes as a freshmen because the school has 3 people working the line of 4+ students on a single day, another 2 hours to get to the financial aid window and then them hiding the 'selective service,' paper in the middle of the whole promisorry note papers so you didn't know you signed it when getting financial aid
What broke the camels back and me hating college as a whole was going to class one day, forgetting something and decide to go back later in the day and sitting in the class and realizing the teacher just had powerpoint presentations and just read off it as her 'teaching,' the material. I immediately got unmotivated to even deal with it.
Put in the bare minimum. Unless your name is Chang or Rajindahar and you’re going into a complex mathematical/scientific/engineering field being a GPA obsessed gay in college is for women and gays who are just total hylics and get life satisfaction from having their little checklist done 24/7. You will learn more and make more integral connections your first year in the workforce than you will having spent 4 years at college. So focus more on your health, happiness, and hobbies that interest you that could turn into a valuable skill rather than your grades.
