Can someone explain this to me?

        >im a mechanic
People usually think of manual labor things like digging ditches, warehouse work or trades like carpentry. And any of those jobs will destroy you not jack you up. The only way you get jacked up the way they think you ought to through that sort of work is hitting the gym constantly and not gaining strength but only the appearance of it

          Anonymous

Carpentry is actually rather light on the body compared to most of these sort of jobs. Undoing bolts and lifting engine parts for 9 hours a day, 5 days a week really does make you stronger. Stuff like your grunt work like digging ditches and warehouse work will absolutely fricking RAPE your body but I still see big frickers doing it, they're more like fat ogre build than lifter build but I rarely see a weak brick layer.

I work in a car factory and the people who do mechanical type work which are in engine assembly areas are some of the most abused and fricked at that place because of all the torq that is applied all day long on the same body parts for two and half hours.

Basically, Anon, this other Anon's argument is the precise problem. Everyone is keenly aware that if you vote away the rights of women, immigrants, or any other group, the people who think they should be in charge of everyone else are going to use it as a precedent to take away the rights of everyone but themselves and the groups they agree with. Allow even one abatement of human rights and it opens up law to take away everything that democracy has earned, which is what makes fifth columnists such a powerful and terrifying force.

You can't undo them without seriously damaging the very concept of civilization and the idea that all people should have rights. Just introducing them damaged it, because they're the people that shouldn't have rights.

One of the effects of testosterone has is that it makes you enjoy hard and strenuous physical activity. Couple with competitiveness, even just against yourself, and you have the result of lifting for the sake of lifting. Women won't be able to relate to this. Which is why lifting primarily for girls is and always has been moronic, they are whimsical social creatures most of them devoid of any true interests or passions that aren't tangential to some social scene.

women know very little of fitness, because they follow hot women, not muscular women. Someone like leanbeefpatty is very rare, and even then I think most of her audience is men. Most women just follow hot models with great genetics who do meme exercises, as if that is how they got their bone structure.

No, it's just women being women. They just paint that picture on the guy because of their own insecurities, so that if they approach him and he doesn't care about them they can brush it off as "I knew he was arrogant" instead of facing the reality that they got rejected. women think chad is naturally jacked and to an extent they're right, some men have naturally higher test levels and thus build muscle more easily in childhood and puberty without having to explicitly lift weights.

Doing some sort of sport is generally required regardless

            >women think chad is naturally jacked and to an extent they're right,

            >some men have naturally higher test levels and thus build muscle more easily
There is no correlation between test levels and muscle building ability in healthy adult men when comparing them with each other. So many studies on this. What differs is the way their body responds to testosterone. Some mens bodies react more strongly than others to testosterone. That natural masculine athletic chad likely has boring 600 ng/dl test.

            >in childhood
            Children have like 10 ng/dl
            >and puberty without having to explicitly lift weights
That's due to their genes responding to testosterone strongly rather than the absolute levels of the hormone.

Check out these high T betas in pic related, their bodies look feminine because they don't respond very well to their testosterone despite test levels being over 1500 ng/dl naturally.

I think there's a degree of that to it, but it's weird, I've heard women find working out to be almost unattractive to the degree that they're more ok with roiders than naturals because working out for a while is a ick I guess?

I don't think thats the case. My ex-gf used to tell me that she didn't care about my body and that everyone is beautiful and that I shouldn't workout so much yet she shared semi-nude pics of me with all her female friends. My current gf also told me that she doesn't care about my body yet whenever I step out of the shower with only a towel on she instantly drops everything she's doing to go and feel me up, and literally begs me to get dressed because she can't control herself. It's all just a shit test.

Its unironically a law of power. “Make your greatness seem effortless” or some shit. It makes sense. If you constantly flaunt (or merely fail to conceal) the hard work and effort that goes into whatever you do, it cheapens it. Suddenly whatever you’ve done isn’t unique to you, anyone can do it if they sweat enough. Even worse, if true amount of effort is revealed, the output may very well seem disappointing in comparison. It’s like when you learn the magic trick and it’s disappointing. Lifting and working hard can’t be your entire identity, people will see it as you trying to get sympathy or attention for something fairly trivial.

Makes sense I guess. If you act like you aren't at your limits when you are, you seem stronger, like you're holding back. Seems a little fricked really to lie about it all but...what can a guy do but adapt right?

This makes sense because less effort with good results means good genetics

        >Even worse, if true amount of effort is revealed, the output may very well seem disappointing in comparison.
This. Never explain to women the amount of work it takes you to look like this or to maintain it. Instantly dries them up.
If anyone ever asks me I'll just say I do push ups and pull ups from time to time.

Based. Nothing more cringe than that guy that always talks about the gym but has a shitty physique. It's the same as reading a lot or appreciating culture, or any form of self improvement. You look like a twat if you try to show off how much time you spend on these things. But if a subject comes up naturally in conversation and you're able to have a well educated and nuanced opinion on it then people will respect you.

Ironically I violated the law of power being discussed, but I hope to help you anons. 48 laws of power and the Essential works of Machiavelli are essential reading. Double if you’re a guniea like me.

Nah Robert Greene is a pseud, he's just some random guy that wrote down a bunch of his opinions mixed with a bit of common sense and then branded them as universal laws of society in order to sell books. When you realise he's done nothing in his life to give any weight on his opinions you start to see through it. Some of the stuff is vaguely interesting but read with skepticism.

If you don't have disgust for most of the world seeping through you on a daily basis, while doing your best to improve your life, but read books on how to "act like a king" while smoking a cigar, that's pretty pathetic.

I smoke cigarillos when I want a tobacco fix because I'm not a fricking poser.

cringe picture, incredibly based book. 48 laws of power is incredibly fricking helpful to understand, although some of you more socially inclined anons may have learned a few of these naturally through life experience. the same goes for how to win friends and influence people- It's a great book ... if you're not good people, I found it absolutely useless because I already knew everything in it subconsciously.

Makes sense I guess. If you act like you aren't at your limits when you are, you seem stronger, like you're holding back. Seems a little fricked really to lie about it all but...what can a guy do but adapt right?

As a woman I think it's about vanity. I understand wanting to be fit in order to be healthy, but when it crosses over to obsessing over fitness to have the too-big muscles, it becomes unattractive.
Of course, at the same time a lot of "health" fitness is actually also done for looking good, and yes a man who's toned and has some muscles that can only come from the gym (but not too much!) does look good. But at the same time, being too looks-obsessed and spending tons of time in the gym honing your body just to look good somehow isn't attractive.

I suppose it might be because it's intimidating? I don't want a man who spends more hours on their looks in the week than me, you know?

Continuing to add - I suppose it's a bit of a situation where even if you lift to look good, just don't admit it to women. Come up with some "it helps my back pain" stuff, to not seem like a looks-obsessed vain guy.

      I'm sorry everyone, I'm drunkposting a bit. I'll stop

Genetics is cruel, I carry an unbroken line of those who survived since the beginning of history when DNA started assembling to 2023AD, and modern women destroyed it what a time to be alive. Hopefully we go extinct soon.

I disagree, the majority of women have some level of interest in me and flatter themselves by thinking that I'm flirting by responding to the questions they ask me.
It's frustrating being in a mostly female environment because they start to get all territorial and decide that I'm a bawd.

If you think about it, it isn't surprising. From their perspective it's not much different to permanent shapewear from our perspective.

What is sought is genetic traits as these will provide the best chance for offspring. As such, musculature obtained via work or sport is valued more highly than that derived from an autistic surrogate activity

First of all, these are reddit comments written by men with a handful of upvotes. Why the frick are you taking this so seriously.
Second, most fitness influencers, apparel, and supplements are cringe and are seemingly marketed towards children or morons. Women don't like that vibe. They absolutely love muscles, and they will never be turned off by simply finding out you go to the gym. They can be turned off if you wear only athleisure and drink chocolate protein shakes in front of them and treat going to the gym as if it's your passion. It's a chore, and it really shouldn't be coming up in conversation with women in the first place unless they also lift. It's like discussing what toothpaste you use.

yes, women want you to be effortlessly perfect, sorry thats just the way things are
needing to put in effort for success is a turn off because it reeks of "geneticallly subpar man seeking to rise above his station"

this is basic stuff you should already be practising

    when they ask
    >do you work out?
    you answer
    >no i used to but now i just play casual sports and try to bike most places

or some such nonsense. meanwhile you're in the gym 4 days a week and counting macros

the basis of attraction is discerning good genes from bad (*tips fedora*), and any person will feel a visceral disgust if they see that mechanism being cheated. plastic surgery, leg lengthening, gymcelling, finasteride, they ALL disgust people for this reason even though they don't understand it

    >some women simply do not like men working out because it implies that they're deficient in something
it implies the woman is deficient in something and that is effort. Someone who works on themselves will maintain their options which means the woman has to work to maintain that person.

It's not that effort is disgusting, It's that effortlessness is extremely impressive. This was already discovered by the 1500s at least, when Baldassare Castiglione coined the term "Sprezzetura", which is the art of making everything you do appear effortless and nonchalant no matter how difficult it actually was. It's probably a natural instinct that existed long before Castiglione wrote it down, but he coined that term, at least. This was all to create an impressive and likable air about oneself that makes him favorable to the court, but it carries over into all human endeavors in which one might be judged (which is literally all of them), I think.

It's not just appearance they want a guy who is effortlessly successful in everything
