That's my point. Being fat =/ capable of automatically lifting more on certain exercises. Thinking that a human is a closed and singular system in relation to "mass moves mass" is stupid yet I see that sentiment repeated time and time again on this board.
IST is notorious for being anti difficult lifts (OHP being the most difficult of them all), and cope by calling everyone doing them for fatties or roiders. Same reason they think a 500kg is no big feat while claiming they are stronger since they can do 20 pullups.
They used to be pretty pro OHP because Rip introduced it to them and the strength standard hadn't been as well established as other strength standards so people could still feel a sense of achievement when they got stronger at the OHP because they didn't have many other people with whom they could compare themselves
i weight 118kg at 198cm.
x 1.3 would be 153kg. worldrecord is at 212.5kg. and you tell me a 153kg overheadpress would be just ok for me? i should be able to "at least" ohp 153kg? how delusional are you?

I made my post to jokingly brag about my press. I am fully aware that you will probably never press as much as me

it's not about your lifts. you said the average man should be able to ohp 1.3x bw. like i said before, i agree with the 2pl8 but not with 1.3x bw.

Do you still think I was being serious after telling you that my post was a joke? I know very well that bodyweight multipliers don't work that way

This image is the response every time someone is too stupid or autistic to understand when a poster isn't being serious
1pl8 ohp is pretty easy, I was working towards 2pl8 ohp last year from 180lb 1RM but then I injured my traps and didn't make any progress and most of my lifts stalled or went down a little bit. Shit sucks but I'm back on the grind.
I'm in the same boat but it's a rotator cuff tear. I'm not allowed to lift more than 30lbs until I get a surgery and then therapy ect.... Looking at a year of no lifting
You pick the weight off the ground with your one hand, underhand grip, not overhead and deadlift it to your hip. You cheat curl it up to your shoulders with one hand. You OHP it over your head with one hand.
why would you do this? Why would you only be deadlifting the same as your curl? There would be zero point in doing the deadlift. And your OHP should also be greater than your curl. This is just meme shit woman tier "lifting". Did you get this off your personal trainer?
>why would you do this?
Because this is the movement I need strength in. >Why would you only be deadlifting the same as your curl?
Deadlift is just to get the weight off the ground, the reps are the curl and overhead press part. >There would be zero point in doing the deadlift.
How else would you get it off the ground? >And your OHP should also be greater than your curl
It is, which is why the curl is a cheat, and the OHP is strict with no leg bounce used. >This is just meme shit woman tier "lifting". Did you get this off your personal trainer?
No, this is something only I do.
>your pic shows both...
Just images I pulled off the net, they don't have the exact movement with the weights that I want so I had to stitch things together.
In my case I use barbell, but you could use dumbell and have the same movement, it should be easier as well then I think.
so... you lift the barbel with one hand? please post a pic or better a vid.

>so... you lift the barbel with one hand?
Yes, I generally try to keep the hand in front of me and palm facing towards me, but I allow for movement and rotation in the wrist, which I find makes the movement easier when the body can just align whatever angle it's most efficient or comfortable in. In essence you are using just one hand, but that hand can be in the optimal place and angle to drive that weight up. > please post a pic or better a vid.
Not yet, I need to be more impressive before I do that.

I'm sorry for your multiple personality disorder anon.
yep, followed by one arm barbell overhead press then repeat curl into overhead press for reps, underhand position on the barbell not overhand. Oh and obviously have the center point of the barbell in your hand and not off center like in the pic.
You can tell it isn't me by the fact that he didn't do 30 reps with it
that picture is literally you.
You must have been pretty embarrassed to be lashing out like this. I knew there would be cope, but I didn't think I would have to painstakingly explain my post to a clueless autist
I'm not even the anon you were arguing with. I'm just reading the thread and see a moron retracting his shit take after getting demolished coping by saying it's just a joke... ok buddy
I told him my claim was bullshit as soon as I could tell he didn't get it
Here's what happened >1. You saw someone stronger than you >2. You got insecure >3. You started grasping at every straw to attack me
Be better, not bitter
you just talked bullshit and now you try to shift the topic away from you.

Nope. Wanna keep trying to convince me that you aren't just impotently lashing out at me for being better than you or are you gonna cut your losses before you are in too deep?
No, if i was a woman and found out the guy i was comitted to couldn't do that i would feel obligated to spite cuck him a few times before leaving him just to prove a point
Went for a test a few weeks ago at the end of my shoulder day. Just tried 52kg as that's what the plates were, felt a lot heavier than I expected, but I never do it so my form was quite bad. I'd imagine if I practiced it and did it at the start I'd get 60 within 3 weeks.
That's really weird considering your bench. Maybe you just need to get adapted to the lift and simply do it more? Which part of the lift do you struggle with (lower, upper)?
I usually can get it to my forehead and get hard stuck. I definitely don't do it as much as I should. I just finished a 12 week program and i intend on putting more focus on OHP
Up the frequency and if that doesn't help I'd start looking into which muscle groups might be holding you back. At the forehead sounds like it might be a tricep issue since it goes from mostly delt to mostly tris at that point.
can you say you can OHP one plate if you had to get fat to do it?
If mass moves mass is an absolute in lifting, how come I don't OHP more when I put on a 50kg backpack?
Because you put it on the back dummy. The bar in ohp is in front
That's my point. Being fat =/ capable of automatically lifting more on certain exercises. Thinking that a human is a closed and singular system in relation to "mass moves mass" is stupid yet I see that sentiment repeated time and time again on this board.
what a moronic post
I'm sorry that you are 59kg and indian
This
Except at least 2pl8s and at least 1.3x bodyweight
>1.3x bodyweight
>286lbs overheadpress
>more then half of the fricking world record
you know that not everybody here is a skinny manlet like you?
Lose weight fatty
i'm 6'5" you idiot
IST is notorious for being anti difficult lifts (OHP being the most difficult of them all), and cope by calling everyone doing them for fatties or roiders. Same reason they think a 500kg is no big feat while claiming they are stronger since they can do 20 pullups.
Meant 500kg deadlift
95% of IST is dyel
2pl8 ohp is reasonable but 1.3x bodyweight is just moronic
They used to be pretty pro OHP because Rip introduced it to them and the strength standard hadn't been as well established as other strength standards so people could still feel a sense of achievement when they got stronger at the OHP because they didn't have many other people with whom they could compare themselves
its always gays like this with a sub 2 plate bench talking about ohp
>but its le heckin the most difficultirino lift!!
>skinny
Jacked with a BMI of 32 is not skinny
>manlet
Yes
how much do you weight?
80kg right now
88kg when I did the press
88 x 1.307 = 115
i weight 118kg at 198cm.
x 1.3 would be 153kg. worldrecord is at 212.5kg. and you tell me a 153kg overheadpress would be just ok for me? i should be able to "at least" ohp 153kg? how delusional are you?

btw you're around 160cm/5'2"
stop posting when adults are talking
166cm, 5'5"
Post 115kg press
you lied at least once in this thread
>bmi 32
>80kg
>166cm
these numbers don't match
Not 80kg. 88kg at the time of the press at which time my BMI was 32 (31.9)
No vid no did
I only press 110kg, unfortunately my arms are twice your length
>1.3x bodyweight
So this is how the manlets cope nowadays?
yes. manlets have smaller brains then adults, this makes them moronic sometimes.
It’s always some midget bald egolifter that posts shit like this
nice 35's bro.
You aren't fooling anyone.
I'll kill a man who could do more than this and take my M card.
1pl8 ohp is pretty easy, I was working towards 2pl8 ohp last year from 180lb 1RM but then I injured my traps and didn't make any progress and most of my lifts stalled or went down a little bit. Shit sucks but I'm back on the grind.

I do pic related with 192lbs
what? these are 3 different exercises? explain yourself

why would you not do curls and ohp separate? Combining them is very suboptimal
Because that is the movement pattern I need.
barbel or dumbel? your pic shows both...

That’s called a one-handed taliban press
I don't get the joke, explain.
one arm deadlift, one arm barbell curl ?
yep, followed by one arm barbell overhead press then repeat curl into overhead press for reps, underhand position on the barbell not overhand. Oh and obviously have the center point of the barbell in your hand and not off center like in the pic.
YARRR SHIVER ME TIMBERS! WHAT DO YOU CALL THIS HOIST?!
I did 70kg for 2 reps last night for fun.
Normally I do 50kg for 4 sets of 10
Mirin my OHP? 1 plate b***hes
Mogging n u turds and brosplitters
Mirin isometric barbell overhead hold
do you post with the trip icelad normally?
You can tell it isn't me by the fact that he didn't do 30 reps with it

>that footwear
nonnononononoonoNOOOO!
>straps
>push movement
moron alert *ding* *ding* *ding*
Rate my strict behind the neck press
You're allowed to use leg drive and bounce the bar? I thought it needed to be slowly raised and fully controlled???
that's a push press moron
You used your legs
Now we just need that ogre looking guy with the long hair to come post his ohp
No, if i was a woman and found out the guy i was comitted to couldn't do that i would feel obligated to spite cuck him a few times before leaving him just to prove a point

post that made the skinny lanklet seethe
I'll admit I feel the least like a man while doing OHP, but I keep doing them because I am.
How do I stop getting lower neck pain while doing OHP?
Flex abs, glutes and quads. Consider using a belt and doing lower back work
I am a man and I can't OHP one plate so... yeah I am living proof that you can call yourself a man and not do that specific thing.
60% of men can 1pl8 ohp
50% of men can 2pl8 ohp
40% of men can 3pl8 ohp
30% of men can 4pl8 ohp
20% of men can 5pl8 ohp
Awful form, starting at head height instead of chest, sneaks under the weight to perform a push press..
Calls it OHP, lol.
>t. the 40% of "males" that cannot 1pl8 ohp
> T. The egoshitter that will complain about muh dangerous lifts and broken back approx 10 years from now.
always some pencil neck criticizing strong people lmao I bet your DYEL ass couldn't even sumo DL his OHP
You should OHP yourself off a building
>60% of men can 1pl8 ohp
that's way too high of a number
I hadn't seen that one
>355lbs squat
>250lbs bench
>500lbs deadlift
>still can't fricking OHP 1 plate
what is wrong with me
That's really weird considering your bench. Maybe you just need to get adapted to the lift and simply do it more? Which part of the lift do you struggle with (lower, upper)?

>tricep issue
I thought so too but I can close grip bench 2 plates for reps so idk 🙁
Meanwhile I can strictpress 80kg and not bench 100kg for 2 reps
>bench press one plate standing up
>lmao gaygit can u even OHP
>Obese
>Belt
>Wrist straps
>Barely 60kg
Lol
Post height and lifts and body. You know how this works. :^)
That's Jim Wendler iirc and it's 2 interlocked 45lbs plates and some change, making that a 240-260 lbs ohp
I'm very skinny and can OHP lmao1pl8 for reps
i can ohp an average woman so i'm satisfied
