Can't sleep the night before an important day

And I'm not talking about 5 or 3 or even 1 hour of sleep, I'm talking about a fat 0. This shit is ruining my life.

Gives me bradycardia. I already have a low resting heart rate (40), and when taking melatonin it goes below 30 and I get dizzy and nauseous, without ever falling asleep though. Then when the effect wears off I start sweating like a pig, become totally anxious, and can't fall asleep for the next 5 hours. That Black person doesn't work
Might try some natural shit like valerian or passion flower now

some people are more sensitive than others to blue light but most people are basically immune to it more or less, doesn't matter how much shit my dad eats and coffee he drinks and how many hours he watches our OLED 60'-70' tv+he also works in a factory with very bright white light that is on all day he still can fall a sleep anywhere any time, my mom and brother kinda similar as well, my mom can fall a sleep and sleep well even when her white light lamp is on all night, I envy them, people that might be sensitive to blue light (like myself for example) usually have bigger underlining issues, sure if you have sleeping issues avoiding blue light might help you a little bit but it won't fix your bigger issues

They might be chronically tired. I always envied my friends who could fall asleep anywhere anytime, until they told me how much sleep they get per night. I was shocked to find out some of them regularly sleep no more than 4 hours during thr week. Even if I have one sleepless night per week, I still get way more sleep than them.

I know what you mean but thats not the case here, they get enough sleep per night, the more I learn the more I tend to think most of it comes down to genetics and some people are just cursed, not saying there isn't personal fault but as I mentioned my family do and consume alot of unhealthy stuff on paper but they are more functional individuals and immune to it and suffer less consequences for it compared to me

Might have to try that. "Good" thing is I have one important day per week, so lots of opportunities to experiment. Next week I'll try to sleep less the day before, so I'm actually tired when going to bed, and I'll also take some valerian or passion flower or whatever

i had sleeping issues while I was getting sober.

valerian only worked for initially getting me to sleep. I kept waking up in the middle of the night.

I had the most luck with CBD- get a high dosage dropper and nuke yourself with it an hour before bed.

A few years later, I don't have any sleeping problems now, I sleep like a baby. Nowadays, I often take CBD a few hours before bed, really relaxes me, allows me to fully immerse myself in whatever I'm doing as I just feel a lot more chill and stress evaporates away.

You don't sleep for tomorrow, you sleep for the day after tomorrow (roughly). If you have a big Wednesday, for example, the sleep you get Monday night will account for most of how well rested you feel.

The amount of coping and just plain moronation the average person goes through to explain why they feel like shit is insane.

      >Eats a diet of mostly processed garbage
      >Sits at a computer all day at work, comes home, lays on bed and watches tv or scrolls through addictive social media that fries your attention span. 0 exercise
      >Needs to wake up at 6, goes to bed at 11-12 and scrolls on his phone until he falls asleep
      >Barely engages in social activity outside of work, when humans are supposed to spend large swathes of their day socializing and talking to people.
      >Has a bodyfat percentage of 30
      >Faps 2 times a day, has fricked his sex drive so badly he watches degenerate and downright fricking disturbing porn

I feel like shit, have no energy and am depressed because of Le Chemical Imbalance. I need to take Le pills

I follow a routine when I have to sleep before a big day. I won’t mention the temp since you can figure that out for yourself, but I rinse my sinuses with saline, wash my mouth out, turn off every electronic and light source two hours before bed, read for two hours before bed, and slip in noise blocking ear buds right before I fall asleep. Sometimes I also wear an eye mask and one of those mouthpieces that shift your mandible forward so you don’t snore. When I wake up, I absolutely resist the urge to reach for the phone and coffee and instead throw on clothes and head for the outdoors to get some sun.

That pretty much does the trick for getting me enough sleep so that I can be on my game and not look haggard.

I used to not get sleep before exams. I realized that it’s because I cared too much about getting sleep. Caring is what keeps you up. The true solution is to stop caring about being sleep deprived on those important days (by accepting it). The easy solution is ambien.

I find that military method of tensing your muscles, relaxing them and imagining yourself in a calm place works for me, ironically the calm place for me is one of those DBZ/Star Wars healing tanks aboard a spaceship, Idk why but the thought of my muscles slowly repairing themselves as I rest/meditate and prepare for the upcoming challenges helps me sleep way better than imagining some calm beach like they recommend
