try rowing before you buy one for sure. I thought it would be the perfect thing for me it was not, and I hate rowing.
Step box stuff (your mom's aerobics tapes with the cheap plastic platform), taebo, floor hiit routines like, jump rope are all viable with minimal equipment.
Stationary bike, ski machines are pretty neat, cheap hydraulic stair steppers, elliptical, recumbent bikes are pretty much just gaming chairs if they don't have a gay display right in your field of view,
Any form of cardio can be dangerous for your joints or connective tissue if you overdo it or use the improper range of motion but some have a lot more leeway than others.

How loud is it? Would love to buy it but I live in small flat.
the magnetic ones are "quiet" but the roller that's on the seat is usually loud enough someone might hear it at night but not enough to disturb anyone in the day. Try one first though I'm trying to trade mine for an exercise bike of equal value because I just hate rowing.
even if you ate keto and stayed 12% you've probably lost bone density, your tendons and ligaments have stiffened considerably to the point your almost to square one again. Your adiposity has nothing to do with it besides being dead weight.
Frail build + low weight still results in low incidence of injuries to runners. Kenyan distance runners famously have genetics for very thin skeletons + narrow joints.
Like most Olympians they train every year form childhood. So they're never sedentary, their connective tissue simply never has the opportunity to decondition.
Jump rope

I ride a stationary bike. No knee issues so far. It’s definitely lower-impact than running.
This is good.
Walking and stationary bike are my cardio things.

Incline walking on a treadmill. Can't beat it. Wear a backpack with some heavy stuff in to make it harder if you need it
Buy a bike. A real one.
kettlebell swings
burpees

I've got a C2 rower, Rogue Echo Bike and a Sole Elliptical (for the wife) in my home gym. Rower is easy on the joints.
>for the wife
We know.
Jogging with proper form.
Running only fricks your knees if you're fat, or muscular (but skip legs).
it can also frick your knees if you've been too sedentary the last few years.
>if you've been too sedentary the last few years.
Yes, fat. Skinnyfat is still fat.
