    the stationary bike and elliptical are super easy and the improved cardiovascular health makes me feel better faster. I still don't reccomment fatties hop on the treadmill as all that weight on their shins and knees is gonna hurt

    im well aware that i dont need it to lose the weight, but running makes me feel like im actually trying to get physically healthy rather than just going from a negative (fat frick) to 0 (skinny)

    In Rich Piana's Bigger By The Day series he emphasized doing cardio even on a bulk, and he would just eat extra calories to make up for what he burned. I mean maybe he's not the best to get health advice from (RIP), but there's some logic in exercise+calories is better than being a couch potato who doesn't eat.

    now this part is true. I am amazed at how fatties are able to justify a 1500 calorie meal by saying "I worked out today, my body needs the fuel!" It's why I set my rewards based on weight lost. Every 5 pounds lost I get to treat myself.

        That is not the treadmills fault and ppl without discipline will always have an excuse. That said cardio is FRICKING BORING. I could do it for max health but i choose not to.

    It's not useless but it's not as useful as it's made out to be. But the other benefits like cardiovascular health, sunlight if you're out walking, waking up your muscles and getting your blood flowing which has cognitive benefits etc
    The problem is when someone goes and fills themselves up with shitty food after because their 45 minute walk "earned" them a McGoyslop XXXL meal

    I lost 140lbs using a treadmill and counting calories you frickwit. Cico is that easy. It doesn't matter how you burn the calories as long as you're burning them and not eating them back. An incline treadmill is the most easily accessible equipment

      The problem is that the amount of calories burned via exercise is notoriously difficult to get right. Unless you have a metabolic cart and are measuring oxygenation, you're going to get it wrong, probably by orders of magnitude and probably overestimated. That leads to the situation where most fatties do 100 cals of treadmill work as then eat a 1k calorie reard.

    Very true, it also makes you more hungry so you will most likely cheat on your diet. The amount of calories you burn on these machines are a lot lower than people think. It is much easier to not eat those calories in the first place.

    In a purely numerical sense yes eating less is more effective. That does not mean you'll get the body composition you want through just eating less though. Leaner bodies are easier to achieve and maintain through cardio. If you just want to be skinnyfat with a smaller shirt size by all means don't do cardio.

    I feel good while and after I ran. It also helps with recovery between lifting sets. I mostly use the 30 minutes to think about daily stuff.
