low carb isn't NO carb though. Again, I'm not disputing that carbs are essential if you're lifting. Carbs retain water in your body which is carried in your muscles which make them bigger + perform better.

But if you're not lifting, the human body really does not need carbohydrates to function, it especially does not need ANY sugar outside that found in fruit.

Not really it just likes to have glycogen for muscles. The body still has to convert carbs into glycogen just like it does with protein in order to be useful. Meanwhile your brains and organs will happily run off of fat with out any glycogen necessary. The glycogen storage system in our bodies is unique evolution that allows us to endurance hunt. You see it all comes back around to humans being and predominantly hunting and meat eating species. Sure we managed to find the less than 1% of plants the and fungus that don't instantly kill us when we eat them, but all of them come with caveats to eating them. Endocrine disruptors, hormone blockers, uses quite a lot of vitamins to process, carcinogens. They all have significant effects on your body and those effects can be terrible for some and beneficial to others. Garlic is blood thinner. Chocolate, tea, and coffee are stimulants. Onions raise testosterone. S o y raises estrogen. Blue berries cause your blood to carry more oxygen. Almonds and apples contain cyanide. It is a lot more complex than just carbs vs fats.

That's a bit stupid considering the entire reason human brain's evolved to become so big and complex was due to scavenging and then hunter-gathering meat. Not only that but brain size shrinks on a vegetarian or vegan "balanced" diet.

The body can produce all the carbs it needs, it doesn't need to be consumed exogenously, especially not from modern unnatural foods that are included in a "balanced" diet.

The truth is that the only balance that actually matters is a balance of protein and fats from animal foods.

I'm disputing it. The brain only prioritizes carbs to get rid of them, and you don't ordinarily have both ketones and carbs present in your bloodstream at the same time. In those experiments where ketones were artificially introduced into the bloodstreams of people along with carbs, their brains used the ketones first.

              Anonymous

Agreed. Glucose is toxic to the brain whereas ketones are building blocks and clean energy. Ketones are so healthy for the brain they can partially reverse alzheimer's.

The body prefers to create its own glucose so that it is stable. It's a legacy fuel that is only needed in limited amounts.

The heart also prefers to use fatty acids. Only when it is damaged does it switch to glucose. The recent pseudovaccine damaged people's hearts and a Japanese study using PET scans showed their damaged hearts were using more glucose than normal.

It is unhealthy if it makes you fat, fricks up your pancreas, or gives you a fatty liver, but some people have metabolism that process it just fine and sugar has been used as a medicine since ancient times. If you are trying to get to a healthy weight and grow muscle at the same time carnivore works great for that.

sugar is glucose, your body needs it, if you don't give it sugar your body will make it, I'm nottalking about table sugar, complex carbs with nutrients and fiber, and fruits that also have fiber and nutrients are great for you because they can give you energy right before a workout while simultaneously being nutritious. Also the more fiber you eat with sugar aka fruits and grains, the lower the glycemic index, and thus your insulin won't spike and you won't crash due to energy being low.

The only people claiming that processed sugar is good for you are schizoids and Bill Gates, stop fighting air.

Humans ate grains for like 1% of our evolution. Fruits for much less than that. Most of the fruit we eat today weren't consumed even 200 years ago. Every single fruit and veg in a supermarket is man-made and engineered. They all contain chemical pesticides (even organic ones) because that's the only way they can be grown en mass, and have to be imported from countries with an appropriate climate because guess what ice age Europeans didn't eat fricking mangos and avocados.

Its caused because the high fat level permeates the insulin producing cells and causes them to be resistant to insulin. Insulin is needed for both carbs and protein. Diabetes isnt accused by spiking blood sugar, its cause by high fat levels impeding the ability of the body to use that sugar properly

Yes, as long as you dont out sugar into the system, the sugar levels dont go up. What are you expecting? Doesn't mean you aren't diabetic. The science is very clear that intramyocellular lipids cause insulin resistance

When you start keto your resting blood glucose doesn't instantly drop, you don't have the same spikes as with sugary meals but your baseline remains elevated for a while.
After weeks or months your resting glucose falls, your resting insulin also falls. For me this shows that it's not just that you eliminated sugar in the short term, it's that your insulin sensitivity rises.

                >it's that your insulin sensitivity rises.
It doesn't. It decreases. Its been demonstrated repeatedly, that's the mechanism of action in the body. If you do keto and then take an oral glucose tolerance test would will fail every time. Your glucose falls because you aren't putting glucose into the system and tour body adapts because it doesn't expect it.
