I mean… you’re fat so you need to focus on diet and cardio. At this point lifting is there to signal to your body that you want to retain your muscle while you maintain a calorie deficit. Hopefully your body takes the hint and burns fat not muscle. Lift full body 3x a week; cardio the other days (long walks are a start - like 4/5 miles). And calorie deficit. Grind it out for a year or two until you hit your goal weight, then lifting for aesthetics
Yeah, that's what I've been doing pretty much. Not the same routine, but PPL 6 days with cardio on chest/back day. Picrel is where I started last year, so even after gaining some of the weight back I still think I've made good progress. I also haven't lost too much of the strength gains, it was nice going back to the gym and benching what used to be my target weight

Don't worry about this program or that, half of your routine should be made up stuff that feels good and "works for you".
But if you're looking for ideas, I recommend doing chest flys if you want to develop chest, and bent over rows and pullups to give your back some width, which will make the biggest difference to how you perceive yourself.

Yeah, if you have a bench already, I really recommend them. I don't even benchpress, my chest work is 100% flys.
I started very light and progressively overloaded. Doesn't even need to be much, I use 15kg per arm, 12 reps, 6 sets, twice a week.

I used to use the lightest I could that still produced doms next day, only going up in weight when I went over 20 reps.
Even now I only do seated rows of 60kg, and it works just fine. Zero injuries this way too, and compatible with life in a deficit.

I don't want to say I'm a beginner, but the way my body looks makes me think that I am. Been doing 6 day PPL from November to February till I recently had to get a job. Before I was doing upper/lower split, 4 days a week. Don't really have much time in the day or week to do 6 days anymore efficiently b/c of the distance from work and responsibilities at home. I've been training for a couple years, but I'm definitely not impressed with the way my body looks. Would appreciate some wisdom from you guys cuz I dunno what the hell to do anymore. Fit tubers all come off fake and contradicting with one another. Don't know who or what to listen to anymore. Please help me bros

Anon, for only a few months this is a great base that I think anybody would feel lucky to have.
Don't worry about this program or that, half of your routine should be made up stuff that feels good and "works for you".
But if you're looking for ideas, I recommend doing chest flys if you want to develop chest, and bent over rows and pullups to give your back some width, which will make the biggest difference to how you perceive yourself.

I was always under the impression that I'm skinny fat so that bulking would make it worse. Only reason I've been scared to bulk I think is cuz I used to be a fat pudgy kid in school.

Yeah, if you have a bench already, I really recommend them. I don't even benchpress, my chest work is 100% flys.
I started very light and progressively overloaded. Doesn't even need to be much, I use 15kg per arm, 12 reps, 6 sets, twice a week.

Try starting very light, and add just enough weight to feel it "bite", get that activation, and do lots of reps.
I used to use the lightest I could that still produced doms next day, only going up in weight when I went over 20 reps.
Even now I only do seated rows of 60kg, and it works just fine. Zero injuries this way too, and compatible with life in a deficit.
Posting a comparison I made in December, 1 year of pullups and rows made a good difference on my back
