cold pressed rapeseed oil

I'm led to believe that this oil available in the UK is cold pressed and not processed to such a degree as other veg oils
what is IST's opinions on this?
I'm starting to take this veg oil shit seriously & want to cut it out as much as possible

it's better but why not just use oil without omega 6?

I’ve literally never seen a seed oil thread on this board.

The biggest concerns with those oils are excessive omega 6, oxidized oil from the extraction process, and harmful forms of fatty acids. Cold pressed eliminates the 2nd issue, and rapeseed oil has a surprisingly good omega 3 to 6 ratio, but the third issue is a big one with it being around 50% erucic acid, which is known to cause damage to the heart if you eat it often. You'd be better off finding a cold pressed canola oil if that's the route you're trying to go down. Canola oil is just rapeseed oil with the the erucic acid removed and the omega 6 level reduced in favor of omega 3 and omega 9.

It’s still messed about with lots of the other shit that’s done to seed oils, it’s just not heated when it’s pressed. Just use beef dripping.

Added oil should be such a small part of your cooking/diet that I don't think that rapeseed is going to be a big deal, but if you have a little more money to spend I'd go elsewhere

For cooking, Olive, butter, coconut, tallow, ghee (I would say Lard, but only if you can get a very good source, if pigs are eating low quality fats, that's almost 1:1 what you get in their lard).

Of the common seed oils, I think Rapeseed/Safflower are probably the best of the worst.

I like how the doodles on the bottle let us know how the rapeseed oil is made.

you realise rapeseed is just what most people call canola right? It's still absolute dogshit and I'd avoid it at all costs

Evoo is a safe bet. Cold pressed high oleic acid rapeseed/canola can be ok, but it depends a lot on how it's processed.

If it's in 99% of products you can buy off the shelf then it's cheap slop.
