Yeh but what if your like me where you can’t lose fat without counting calories because I just naturally overeat if I’m not keeping myself accountable knowing my actual calorie intake

Same here. Although chancing the type of food to contain no additives, processed ingredients (including added sugar and industrial oils) will make you feel fuller faster and more satisfied, hence less desire to overeat. For the majority of people, this is probably a mentally healthier approach. But they just can’t lay off the chips and ice cream. Or insist on eating low fat/low carb unnatural substitutes.

      >naturally overeat
Literally how? What's so hard to understand about the concept of PLATES and basic arithmetic? Are you the pot of rice guy?

This is what a "sensible" lunch looks like for me:
      >2 lean pork chops
      >carrot salad (2 shredded carrots, 20 cherry tomatos cut in half, dab of balsamic)
      >a small banana, or bowl of low-cal jello if it's a rest day

It's impossible to overeat if you portion and plate your food. I grilled 2 chops. I can't eat more than my alloted portion of chops because I only grilled 2.
I didn't bake a whole tray in thick gravy like a fat Black person moron. That shit just doesn't happen inadvertedly. It's an involved process and you have to commit yourself to be a glutonous moron at every stage of it. You are not "overeating", you are choosing to be a fat moron so fricking own it.

Yes. But thats what im saying. I cant lose fat unless I track calories because im a fat c**t who will simply over-eat if not being held accountable by a caloric number im constantly looking at throughout the day to ensure I am where I need to be.

If I just let myself eat by default, i start gaining bodyfat, or at the very least maintain a high bodyfat %

Counting calories is the only thing thats worked for me to lose bodyfat, the moment I stop counting autistically tracking my calories, I regain all the fat back.

post body, I bet you look like a fat tub of shit

I should also mention, when I track my calories and eat low calories, my training in the gym suffers so badly, which demotivates me from counting calories anymore, so I get fat again.

I start rapidly losing strength in the gym when I eat <2000 calories and I feel weak/tired all the time and hate life

At least when im eating whatever I want, im fat, but at least im energetic and strong/powerful in the gym.

I dont know how lean people even lift weights honestly, it is so boring to be lean and lift weights, the only thing enjoyable about it is seeing your muscle /veins in the mirror, but you feel like shit and you're weak as shit...

                Anonymous

Being a manlet. Im 5'7. Ive been lifting for 10 years, currently 210 pounds.

I once cut down to 160 and it was on a range of 1400 to 1800 calories. Any higher than 1800 and the fatloss would be so slow that it was torture

                >just do cardio bro

You cant just keep adding cardio to lose fat, because doing cardio and more cardio just takes away from energy reserves that you need to maintain STRENGTH in the gym, if you lose strength, you lose muscle, so you cant just force the fatloss via endless cardio, or you just end up losing all your performance in the gym and you lose tons of muscle.

This is why cutting is so fricking hard for a natural lifter, you dont have the steroids there to maintain your strength and hormones while in a calorie deficit.

Its why cutting is so piss easy for steroid users.

That said, cutting fat as a non-lifter who doesn't require performance in the gym is easy as frick, you being in a weak and tired condition doesn't matter if you dont have to do any lifting, but as for a lifter, its so fricking draining to eat a calorie deficit AND maintain performance

                >but yuo dont need to maintain performance bro youre being autistic about it

No im not, ive done a cut where I just let myself lose a ton of strength, and I lost basically all the muscle along side the fat ending up in a legitimate skele body, despite still lifting weights, its just that the weights I was lifting became so light that the muscle had 0 reason to stick around anymore while i was in the calorie deficit

                Similar journey here manletbro.
Started losing weight and lifting a year ago. Shit was going great until those last few kgs where I stopped being strict with the deficit at 1500 cal. Now shit is slow af and on top of that I'm demotivated to go to the gym since I have to fight to maintain muscle mass and never progress ever.
Can't wait to be done with this so I can transition to maintain/bulk

If you lead an active lifestyle, you don't have to worry about what you eat. Ideally, the healthiest attitude is to eat when you're hungry and spend a lot of time exercising, walking, and otherwise just not being sedentary. You know, how people used to live their lives?

This is food industry shilling right here. Diet is 80% of why you look and feel a certain way. Telling people they can “eat what they want” if they are active is what Coca Cola does to keep sales up. It is moronic and harmful advice.

You should eat healthy. Fruits and veggies. Whole Foods, meat and dairy. Pick the subset of that you like, and avoid food made in a lab by some corporation trying to maximize shareholder value.

Most people are oblivious about how much they eat. Fat people think they gain weight and think they’re not eating much, while skinny people think it’s impossible for them to gain weight no matter how much they eat. Both groups are deluded and mentally disconnected from the actual amount they eat. Counting calories is the only way they can learn that math doesn’t lie.

Yeah but if they're actually fat then that's not good.

Ideally normal ass people do a reality check and say "oh wow I probably can't eat an American restaurant meal and appetizer every day and plausibly not get fat as a barely active adult", "huh 3 20 oz sodas a day means I'd have to eat less than 1500 calories just to not get fat, huh that's hard", "boy eating candy or junk food on anything close to a daily basis, on top of getting the food I actually need is kind of implausible", "gee whiz the amount of energy I can expend in an exercise session really is like one pastry, boy probably can't do that"

    But Americans suck at math

      This is such a meme.

The moment the natural fatty gets off tracking, even if they know how much they should be eating to lose fat, they will just default back to their natural eating habits

The same goes for a skele who wants to gain weight, they will track calories, gain some weight, get tired of counting, then go back to their skele ways and lose the weight they gained and stay skele

It goes both ways, ive seen it first hand.

I am the default fatty, and my brother is the default skele in this situation. I need to cut fat to reveal my muscle gains that ive made over the years, but my fatty ways are too powerful. My brother has NEVER been able to gain muscle because he has never been able to stick to tracking his calories and keep force-feeding. So he just stays skele (120lb) his entire adult life so far.

This shit goes both ways. I need to count to lose fat (im 210lbs) and my brother needs to count in order to gain muscle (hes 105lbs).

The highest he got counting calories was 125lbs, the lowest I got counting calories was 160lbs. We both default back to our natural eating habit weight the moment we stop tracking.

        Anonymous

          hes 5'4 and im 5'7

granted ive been lifting for 10+ years and hes only been lifting off/on for years

he quits lifting so often because he never gains any strength because he hates eating and thus cant get any calories in him to have energy for training so he just gets tired of not making any progress

The difference for me is, ive already gained the strength and size, i just need to cut, but for me im the opposite of my brother, i just cant put the calories down.

    >extremely effective for body
    >extremely bad for brain
if you have a bad relationship with food/mental health in any way then calorie counting is not sustainable. it is better to just eat intuitively and track protein. I tend to recomp rather than cut/bulk even though it means my progress is slower just because otherwise I revert to ED habits
