I am having trouble seeing how it hurts your back. It can only frick your knees up if you are ego lifting and lock your knees out, I'm pretty sure your knees are supposed to stay slightly bent so that if you fail it simply pushes your legs down and doesn't snap your shit in the wrong direction like a army action figure

It was either the leg press or the hip thrust machine who fricked my shit up.
Now I can't squat without pain on the back of my right hip and if I push through, can't move properly for two to three days.

    Leg press is my baby
I can't squat due to mechanical issues but I love leg press followed by leg extensions to failure

What I always wonder, and it would be helpful to avoid shit like gifrel, is: what did it feel like prior to the knee bending backward?
Like, are these people pushing well past the point of failure? Are they just doing an insane amount of weight with zero prior weight training?? I have to wonder if there’s any fault of the user.

He was using his hands to push more weight he could handle while also locking out his knee, NEVER do that.
Its quite literally impossible for that gif to happen if you dont lock the knee

Its not really possible to feel tendons being under pressure as it is with muscle. Its not muscle or bone that gave up on him, but the tendons in the knee joint. Theres just a weight point at which that'll happen. Why put a ton of plates to do 1/10 of ROM i dont know, but either way moronic.

Comments on single leg presses? My gym's leg press is only rated for 140 kg which I've nearly maxed.

Same. Planet Fatness stacks are close to not being heavy enough. I suggest not placing your foot between your shoulders like you would like standing on one leg.

there are some machines in the gym that have scary .webms that i don't see the point in ever using them. its easy as hell to get those muscles built without using a machine so it never seems worth it to me.

That's what I use the machine fore. If I want to do a regular set, I'd just squat like a man. But when I want to burn out glutes, hips, and work on flexibility, I use this machine so I can go deeper and deeper on squats with heavy weight. I like to sit at the bottom with the weight for a few seconds before going up too.

Stupidest fricking machine ever invented. People who use this machine have a deathwish. Thats why modern ones you push yourself up the ramp instead of the weights bearing down on you.

      >*bar rolls forwards and snaps neck*

I get your point, but I think squats are generally much safer than leg presses
        1. it's more skill-based, you have to learn to squat which makes you more careful and less impulsive. any moron can use a legpress so you get morons egolifting and fricking around.
        2. you can't inverse your knees in a squat, even if you lock out at top, squats are more natural and you can't snap like all those webms.
        3. most people aren't powersharters or olympic weightlifters. doing 5-8 reps is generally very safe, you won't strain your body with trying a 1 rep max which could frick you up, not using gear or preworkouts.

I honestly love leg press, I usually do either 3x8 240kg maxed out or 3x12 200kg. Still see so many DYELS and women doing quarter reps with half my weight. Can only do 110kg on squat tho lol

My lower back has been killing me for weeks and I'm suspecting it's this, hip thrusts or somehow cable crunches. I don't squat or dead.
What's the most common way to frick your lower back in gym?

      Anonymous

Yeah its probably the crunches and not the only machine in they gym that presses hundreds of pounds against your spinal discs

      >*walks up to squat rack*
people who leg press are stupid
      >*ducks under the bar*
why would you want all that weight bearing down on you?

      >*bar rolls forwards and snaps neck*

I dont do squats either. Im not fricking moronic. Their are machines for this type of stuff that are actually safe, gramps. Dont snap anything tomorrow at the gym ok

I can say I maxed this out at 19.
    I got a herniated disc on L4-L5
    Bad. Never used it again.
It haunts me, but my doctor said I could have had it happen at anytime. (I feel like maybe it was to just make me feel better)
But my dad, grandpa, and other family members have had multiple back surgeries so it was going to happen eventually.
I don't wish this pain on anyone.
    Stay safe bros.
