    >remind me why IST shits on crossfit again?
Because the majority of IST (and "bodybuilders: in general) are coping with being physically inept.

It takes a 100th percentile crossfitter who risks life-destroying injuries ....... to look like a 50th percentile natty lifter gym bro who casually lifts and does an easy brosplit.

Yeah Im thinking ill stick to the bro lifting.

      crossfit is basically physical attrition
this guy is only here because his body hasn't exploded from the sheer disregard for his joint
      see
for the 1 elite crossfitter you see shitting up instagram, there are 99 other turbonerds nursing injuries because their bodies are frail and not meant for it

You don’t even need to be frail. Doing shit like Olympic lifts competitively for time WILL frick up your joints even if you’re built like Brock lesnar.

How does doing olympic lifts with barbell for time fricks your joints up but doing same thing with kettlebells doesn't? If you have no experience you can trash your rotator cuff with le safe swimming and destroy your knees with running.

It's not the movement, it's the loading. People act like you show up to a crossfit gym and the coach goes "Welcome, hope you can snatch 225 because that's what you're doing today". In reality if you've got even a semi competent coach, he's going to get you going with an appropriate weight and focus on technique before anything else. Hell, they give some people pvc pipes until they understand the lift well enough to begin loading. The people you see in compliation videos absolutely fricking their shit up are the same as the bodybuilders you see dropping barbells on their chest with collars, no pins, and no spotters. Their ego got in the way

Across fitness in itself is based. It's only the Crossfit™ that is stupid as frick. You can lift, run, do calisthenics, swim, hike and whatever, and you are going to exceed everyone in physical sense, but lifting dangerous movements untill failure is just getting you to hospital bed. Also it's expensive as shit, just because it's Crossfit™. Bugs are going to buy in.

The run can be considered elite level and the only challenging thing in the video. This guys phisique is good, very good but i doubt its something that cannot be replicated with 3-4 years lifting, infact the only thing he did was the basic 4 lifts, without the run you wouldnt even call this "crossfit".
sadly the majority of "crossfit" is not this, the majority of crossfit is doing powerlifting shit like clean and jerk, then riding on a bicycle, then doing some calisthenics like picrel then spasming out on TRX because you need to "confuse the muscles" or some other bullshit. Its essentially the lite version of the roidtroony death cult where instead of dying they just accumulate injuries and instead of drugs its 2 million 25 supplements and essential oils for recovery.
good for the guy though, im mirin

400m in 1 minute is really good

If you search around you'll find plenty of stats that show that for recreational runners who do it as their primary sport a 5k done in ~20min is about the top 2-3% of runners

People on these forums become so insular from the world at large

1 minute 400m sprint time is fine for some random office worker that runs to stay in shape. Its a elite time if you can maintain it for 1600m, like the 4:04 1600m i saw live.
these are the 400m highschool times at the highest level state meet. you could say these are elite numbers. they're still 3 seconds of olympic times

I drove past a CrossFit gym that's right next to my local Tesla dealership in Tysons, Virginia. There were several shirtless dudes doing some sort of exercise circuit back and forth in front of the gym. They were honestly the most fit people that I've ever seen in real life. And so CrossFit fricking works. I also heard that tons of women attend CrossFit gyms, and so it seems like a pretty good way to meet chicks in real life.

Crossfire isn't bad in itself ita just that:
    >There are far better ways of training cardio
    And
    >There are far better ways of training strength
Crossfire combines those two for the worst of both
Combine that with high risk of injury and you have a lesser training form

I dont shit on crossfit but you're acting like someone couldn't achieve these results without crossfit. That's like saying if someone can do that because of zumba it was the zumba and not just the dedication to working out for x years

Really stupid training regimes (e.g., kipping pull-ups to failure immediately followed by power cleans to failure immediately followed by deadlifts to failure, etc). That guy is as strong as his *despite* rather than because of crossfit training. Best case scenario is this guy isn't being trained properly, and the more common scenario is the person getting injury or rhabdo (something which some crossfit gym strive to get as a badge of honour).

Im 37 years old, weigh 186 and can deadlift 500, squat over 400, bench 300, ohp 205, run a 59 second quarter mile, and a 6:18 mile(trying to do all these things and run under a 6 min mile has been my failure)... Never once crossfit, in fact i make fun of them to their faces and they get mad because im more fit.

    Keep at it.

    >remind me why IST shits on crossfit again?

Certification for a crossfit coach requires a two day course and a test. That is not adequate enough experience and education to master or teach complex compound movements which take years to learn. My other issue with crossfit is the lack of any actual training. I goto a boxing gym and the structure to the workouts is also lacking, but it does what i need it todo. Lots of conditioning work with some sparring/pad work overseen by a experienced boxer. Crossfit has no structure, a random assortment of movements done x failure for the sake of doing them.

Also OP was able to do his stupid little challenge because of drugs, not because crossfit most everyone

IST is far from being the only people who shit on crossfit. The ideas and goals of crossfit are okay but their training methods (which they adopted from military drills) are pure shit for the individual. The only reason this kind of crap works for the military is because it works *for* the military i.e. if a navy seal candidate gets injured on course they transfer him to load boxes, count bullets, and mop the decks somewhere - and in his place they bring one of the thousand others.

At least doing it for the armed forces of your country makes sense from the patriotic viewpoint, but wrecking your body for your crossfit gym "tribe"? LMAO
