This is the worst lie in this arena I've ever heard. People act like they're so pious and temperate for eating in a calorie deficit. Piss off. If it is taking willpower for you, it's because you're eating trash food (calorie dense, little protein:calorie ratio, little fiber).
Me personally, I can eat 4k calories of junk food (pizza, mcdonalds) EAAAAAAAAAAAAASILY and when I started cutting I started eating beans, chicken breast, low fat greek yougurt, low fat cottage cheese, eggs, deli meat, frozen vegetables, blueberries, etc...) and I ate more food when I was cutting than I ever did when I ate a trash diet. To cut (enjoyably), just find filling foods you can eat every day and work them into a sensible mealplan and run a moderate deficit. If you do it like this, you might feel a bit peckish at worst during the first week or so, but it's way different than the ravenous soul consuming hunger you get when you try to eat 2000 calories of burger king for your daily meal. I'm 104 lbs, 5'7" but can eat an entire tub of ice cream and still feel like I have the apetite for one more. I sometimes eat 5,000 kcal when I have pizza for dinner and still get cravings two hours later.

If you buy that food prepared from a restaurant it's far more expensive than fast food. If you prepare it yourself, it takes way more time to do than just buying fast food. For most people, the limiting factor is time, although cost is important too.
It takes me 2 hours to meal prep 4 dinners. I know fatasses who claim they have no time that lay on the couch 4 hours a day. Not managing your time properly is not an excuse to not lose weight.

today i had
- 2 cups of black coffee and 2 cups of green tea
- eggs, sausage, cheese with a side of boiled potatoes and hot sauce
- gatorlyte bottle (prob the only "bad" thing i ate, but only 50 cal)
- protein bar
- kombucha
- bag of plain salted popcorn
im at 1200 calories for the day and only have 300 left within my limit

Cutting is only difficult sub 10% bf. If you have to use "willpower" to diet and you're above 10% bf your diet is suboptimal. Simple as.
