We don't know about every hormone, we don't know what many of them do, and we don't know the complete consequences of interfering with them.
Just because we are unaware of side effects from tanking your DHT doesn't mean they don't exist. We're stupid and know nothing. Human trials/the FDA approval process (which is short term by its very nature) definitely do not capture long term downsides and are crude at best.
There seems to be this lovely pattern with with medications that are incompletely understood at approval time wherein further research always seems to turn up new side effects and drawbacks.

I have used Proviron in the past which is synthetic DHT. Here were the effects: stronger, leaner face, leaner body, penis was harder, sex drive higher. It was very mental, ie. mood, memory, confidence were improved. I have seen studies of Proviron being used against depression. The drug definitely has a 'masculinizng' effect on the body.
DHT is important for male health and I do not suggest lowering it.
