    Steroids are a drug.
    Caffeine is a drug.
    Nicotine is a drug.

So, yes. But use nicotine patches not cigarettes if you want that one.

Nicotine contracts your blood vessels. Reducing the amount of blood that flows to your muscles obviously negatively impact your workout and recovery. People thinking it’s good for you are idiots clinging on to any mom science they can find to justify their addiction

Stimulants will obviously help you increase intensity, but might come at the cost of more fatigue and worse recovery. They also cut your appetite which leads to worse recovery (less calorie intake). Amphetamines last too long to be used as acute training boosts. I guess caffeine and cocaine might be better in this regard.
Some psychedelics help enormously with mind-body connection like LSD or mushrooms, but they don't make intense training very enjoyable at all. Don't know about recovery/fatigue side of this.
Depressants are dogshit all around for lifting, they don't help you recover, eat OR train. Any morphine derivative is an instant no, barbiturates are a no, benzos don't help either, GABAergics are slightly better but still a big handicap.
Marijuana might genuinely be the worst drug for weight lifting out there. Less energy, less motivation, less endurance, fricks your sleep and appetite, awful all around for intense weight lifting training in my experience.
Overall most drugs impact your sleep/diet in a negative way, so while some of them might help in the moment, while lifting, they will cuck you hard outside the gym, so it's a net negative overall.
Caffeine is the only drug that would be usable in this context because it doesn't last long enough to cause these issues and is moderate in its effect. Frick even some of these stronger pres like the oldgay JACK3D gave you these bad sides.

      >Amphetamines last too long to be used as acute training boosts
Absolutely true. This is why I never get those guys who snort every 30 min a frickin line. They are such greedy kickgoblins, completely frying their brain.

Amphetamines would only makes sense if you wake up and take them pretty much in the morning as your coffee, otherwise you completely ruin your sleep at night (will still be ruined, but the later the worse). But you are still a moron if you take that for lifting.

        >Methylphenidate/Ritalin
        Have you tried Vyvanse/Elvanse?
Methylphenidate made me feel sick and over time felt like it wasn’t great for my heart. I found studies that confirmed my suspicion about Methylphenidate and the heart. It’s not about extra size to deal with extra cardiovascular demand, but adding or changing the structure over time. I always felt stiff and robotic and had less desire to socialize. I don’t get that on Vyvanse/Elvanse. A friend of mine also said that Methylphenidate made him too robotic, unfortunately he completely stopped meds because of that. He never tried the amphetamines.

Lisdex just lasts longer and has less of a peak. The L-Lysine ensures a slower release, other than that it's regular dexamphetamine, which is itself more stable and a better stim than the levo isomer. Interestingly all of these derivatives actually come from phenethylamine originally extracted from Peyote cacti IIRC. Which is why most hallucinogenics which are substituted phenethylamines also have a varying degree of CNS stimulation
Vyvanse lasts for fricking hours, it's literally like 12 hours long with no peak. Regular dex lasts maybe 4-5 hours, same as other classic amphetamines like MDMA but have a very noticeable peak and comedown
Meth is the only exception I can think of, that shit lasts for days if your dose is big enough

nta but I had terrible nausea from elvanse, which is weird as regular amphetamine (adderall) worked alright, but not as well as methylphenidate.
I did become very robotic and fricked up my long-term relationship while on methylphenidate, though.

before I got diagnosed and put on meds for ADHD I used to have a bad drug problem, and dosed way too much acid over the course of two years. had a bottle with around a hundred doses and used to take a hit every two weeks on my recovery day. woke up very refreshed the day after, and felt a lot more energetic and alert throughout the week compared to the week where I didn't do it. still, would not recommend going to the gym on either of those substances, unless they are microdosed.
had great experiences microdosing homegrown mushrooms over the course of three months though. (better alleviation of ADHD symptoms, had a lasting effect even after stopping for more than a year)

Interesting. LSD also has slight CNS stimulant properties, so the fact that you had better sleep on it is strange. It's possible though, the effects on neurogenesis are still relatively unknown and possibly more intense than we understand at the moment.

yeah lisdex has to undergo a hydrolysis reaction in the body to break down, makes sense why it takes ages to be metabolised

Training on LSD will give you insane mind muscle connection if you can get over the paranoia of tripping at the gym. I've done it a few times and always have amazingly intense workouts where I feel as though I'm learning how to contract and control my muscles in new ways. Would definitely recommend it.

Another drug I've trained on is MDMA which was fun. I had the biggest smile on my face while doing some pushups but I wouldn't recommend it because your heart will already be beating fast from the MDMA and adding working out on top of that could be dangerous for your heart. Also you will be very likely to chat to everyone and make it pretty obvious your on something.

Training whilst stoned on weed is also a good experience. Increase in mind muscle connection and the feeling that you can do unlimited reps on certain exercises. You get crazy pumps also but your cardio may take a hit. Also you might get paranoid that people know you're high.
