>avoid stress
>do active rest (cardio) to improve circulation and recovery
>eat properly
>sleep properly
>rest properly
If you're still gassed take an extra rest day. Literally the only thing the 1980 Olympia loser was right about
>>do active rest (cardio) to improve circulation and recovery
not op but is just taking walks, collecting steps and riding my bicycle at a somewhat slow pace considered active rest or do i need to do stuff that gets my hr up more?
>wondering if its real or not
Of course it is real. I know guys who go to the gym 5 days a week during lunch, then go and do 2-3 days of BJJ or Muay Thai and then can't figure out why they have sore ligaments and never make gains.
You do not get stronger in the gym, you stimulate the growth response in the gym.
Post workout
>recovery = compensation are younstill sore? Are you dragging ass?
Then younhavent recovered
>over compensation = growth, if you haven't recovered, how the frick have you grown?
Your "pump" is not growth, that is your body trying to replenish the cells asap, growth.
If you are in the gym 3 or 4 days a week and not on gear there is 0 chance younare recovered.
is it best to lift 12 set workouts 4 times a week or 9 set workouts 6 times a week
>is it best to lift 12 set workouts 4 times a week or 9 set workouts 6 times a week
Neither, 0 sets 4 times a week or 4 times a week 0 sets
>Of course it is real. I know guys who go to the gym 5 days a week during lunch, then go and do 2-3 days of BJJ or Muay Thai and then can't figure out why they have sore ligaments and never make gains.
Truth.
>If you are in the gym 3 or 4 days a week and not on gear there is 0 chance younare recovered.
oversimplification of nuanced topic.
>oversimplification of nuanced topic.
what do you mean? for me 3-4 is the sweet spot of gainz vs overtraining
Again, more oversimplification. Not good.
kys
simple enough for you?
Yes, but I overtrained and got injured. One time I overtrained, quit lifting for a week, and made a 20lb PR for reps after.
Me, you, and him are different. We also train differently.
Generally the bigger and stronger you are the easier it is to overtrain, and the same with compounds.
I can easily overtrain on 3 days a week full body, but a bro split not so much.
>Generally the bigger and stronger you are the easier it is to overtrain, and the same with compounds.
>I can easily overtrain on 3 days a week full body, but a bro split not so much.
does not make sense.
>wondering if its real or not
American detected.
I'm going through that rn
Just resting, is enough, if you have a sudden spike in energy, pump the muscle with blood, but no heavy lifting.
That's it
It's kind of boring
With higher frequency higher volume routines deloads usually have to be done sooner. Which is just cutting a third off your total volume for a week best way to do that is to reduce sets. If you're going to true failure on multiple sets in a workout you'll probably want to start implementing reps in reserve. Failure feels good but it makes the same volume have more fatigue. Realistically you're getting the same growth stimulus if you're lifting 70% or higher orm. Add couple hundred kcal to your diet for a few days sometimes it's easy to frick your shit up by just undereating.
>there's no such thing as overtraining, only undereating
lift through it
Mentzer has me on a 4 day break between work outs so nah.
overtraining isn't real. if your workouts suck fix your
>sleep
>diet
>rest
>stess
>mental health (anyone got a better word for this shit?)
there's no such thing as overtraining, only underrecovering
You need to get stabbed to death
