Remember people's breath only smells because they have nasty bacteria in their mouth!
Normally sign of mild gum infection.

I brush twice a day and use mouthwash and I still get cavities all the fricking time. It's pretty much a genetics game.

Dont use mouthwash, it kills good bacteria that actually protects ur teeth from caries.

I know it can be genetic but get this: My teeth were all kinds of fricked up before I started eating clean although I was brushing frequently. I had so many cavities as a kid and in my mid-twenties. For the last 9 years I've been eating clean, never added sugar to anything, drank nothing but water and coffee, no soda or juice ever (but beer and booze on weekends but not mixed) and brushed my teeth less and I haven't had a single cavity or other teeth issues in that time.

Reminder to wait 30 minutes after a meal to wash your teeth or you won't actually clean them you'll just move the bacteria around

Cavities only cause you eat too much sugar and or carbs.

      its not genetic you mong.
I had bad cavities as a kid and young adult.
my diet was plain shit and I didnt brush regularly.
now my diet is top and I brush twice a day.
      no mouthwash no fluoride.
both my kids eat the same as I do and brush the same way as I do. none of them have the same issues with cavities as I used to have.
its not genetic. its your habits.

Dentists make an order of magnitude more money on morons that don't brush.

Okay so the conspiracy theory is that brushing your teeth twice a day is actually bad for you because that's what dentists suggests and this way dentists get more customers.

So you should not brush your teeth. This way dentists don't get money because it's opposite what they advertise. Surely they are advertising thinking of their own benefit and money?

        Anonymous

Not everyone is out to get you, moron. Dentists get frickloads more money from stuff like braces and surgeries. I'm pretty sure they'd rather not be filling up their schedules with filling cavities and cleaning plaque from your nasty teeth.

Of course this happens. If anything it is an argument to brush and floss regularly to avoid the dentist. I managed dental practices for years and we secretly hated patients who came in having taken great care of their teeth because it made us no money. I am now that patient after leaving the industry. Brush at least once a day and get a waterpik to make it easier to floss. Do that and you will be getting only cleanings every six months. By the way, gingivitis can be reversed but Periodontal Disease is forever. The alternative to brushing is the following:

            Average filling: $200+
            Average Extraction: $200+
            Average Crown: $3,000+
            Average Dental Implant: $2,000+
Average Cleaning if you have Periodontal Disease (every six months): $2,000+
            Average Denture: $3,000+
            Full mouth implants: $40K+

Here’s the thing, OP. Everyone wants your money so pick the option that will cost you the least money and least amount of misery long-term

        You should. And floss too

What's crazy is every time I go to the dentist they say "your teeth are already clean so there's nothing to do" meanwhile if you show up grimy you get sold on all the extra cleanings and polishings. Plus just poor dental health in general is expensive, crowns, fillings, root canals etc. You're not getting one over on the dentist by being unhygienic.

Moderate brushing is good, twice a day. Flossing is also beneficial time to time. BUT! Use a ~~*fluoride*~~-free toothpaste.

I should add that the application of the toothpaste is important.
Brushing your teeth with toothpaste accomplishes 2 things the brush cleans your teeth and applies the toothpaste, which acts as a protective shield for any bad food you eat, if you eat naturally abrasive food, brushing is less essential and if you don't eat bad food then toothpaste is less essential.
Don't brush your teeth after you eat food, because that's not how toothpaste works, and don't rinse your mouth with water or use mouth wash after brushing as the toothpaste needs to stay on your teeth to act as that protective layer.
Don't overbrush your teeth as that's bad for the enamel, Ideally just avoid the foods that a bad for your teeth, that's going to give you the most mileage.

If you want to eat food that is bad for your teeth then you have to brush, if you don't, then you don't have to brush.

toothpaste is a fricking scam, utterly useless.
brushing is fine when needed but if your breath smells you're a moron who doesn't know what/how to eat, simple as.
use coconut oil instead of toothpaste

That's because you have Sub-Saharan African DNA in you that causes the ENAM polymorphism which means more calcium went to your teeth than your brain. Anyone can tell you're not smart the weird way you write ("I" 3 times, nervous textual lmfao, and reddit "tho"). There's a reason black people have pearly whites and Jon cavities even though they don't brush and drink soda all the time. This is NOT a good thing. Good bye (literal) brainlet.

    I have mouth care autism.
I start with a gum specific mouthwash, then use an empty wet electric brush to clean every teeth and gum. I then use a water flosser, use a dental drill, water floss again, dental floss, water floss , then use a toothpaste specific for gums, move to a toothpaste for cavities then end with a whitening toothpaste. Before going to bad I also use a whitening mouthwash.

    Here's the toothbrush redpill folks.
Get an electric sonic toothbrush. The kind that vibrates, not the circular spinning head kind. If you're getting cavities, your brushing technique is probably bad, and you can fix it by using modern technology. I had cavities monthly growing up, but once I got the sonic, no more. Also floss EVERY DAY. No excuses.
