    Need, but 1g power lb will get you to 2 sigma over the average, there you are SURE you don't need any more protein.
    And consider that nutritional labels have a 20% error margin. If you can, hit 1g/lb just so you can ignore that error and be sure you're covered..

And thats the UPPER UPPER UPPER TO BE 110% SURE LIMIT. In reality its closer to 1g per kg.

        1.6 g/kg is the average, check your literature.
        2.4g/kg is to cover fricking everything, including the better body composition effect more protein will give you.
        1g/kg is for poverty bulking, you're wasting part of the gains you're sweating for at the gym.

      i didn't give a frick and squatted over 500 pounds and benched 285 when i was 16 at 185. Ofc I was much stronger than everyone else and they typically drank protein and creatine, but i considered that for pussies. I just worked harder than everyone else that's all you need ofc i got injured, but still most if not everyone got injured

    should i be intaking protein based on lean mass or total mass? because it gets quite unreasonable to calculate from total especially when trying to cut.

    at 6'4 150kg bw i s130kg, b90kg and d190kgs. I estimate my LEAN mass to be around 80-90kgs.

      Base it on lean mass, body fat doesn’t consume protein.
      0.8 g per lbs for bulk and maintenance, 1 g per lbs for cutting.

          Look up the navy bodyfat percentage measurement method. All you need is a measuring tape. It’s not as accurate as you can get with pinch calipers, but it’s better than nothing.
          Alternatively, take a body pic, and compare it with bodyfat percentage example pictures which you can also look up online.
