This. I have heard it messes with sex drive. It is really testosterone that makes men bald so you would have to lower it to lessen the stress hormone it produces that makes your hair fall off.
Maybe incels consider a lower sex drive a win, it is less bothersome

Balding is completely reversible if you are in your teens and 20s, why don't more people do anything about it? I hate seeing bald men or "just shave it" bros. All you have to is use Finasteride pill/topical spray which is like €10-30 euros a year. Why don't young people in your country fix their balding?

Don't expect to go from NW4, 5 or even 7 to a full head of hair. Maybe you can revert some area that is only thinning a bit. But the real benefit is that it drastically slows balding down. maybe even stops it completely if it's not aggressive.
Donald Trump has been on fin for decades and I bet that he won't go bald any time soon.
So if you want to take it, take it if you are 25 and NW1.5 or 2, right when you see the earliest signs of thinning.
Also, it lowers DHT by 70%. Free testosterone is unchanged or even slightly elevated. DHT is the stuff that makes you a man in puberty and you don't really need it if you are fully grown. Free test is the stuff that makes you act like a man (aggression, building muscle, confidence). I would never frick with my free test, but after blocking DHT my slightly thinning hair reverted, my dandruff is gone, and my back acne (DHT plays a role in skin oil production).

It's definitely an option if you have side effects on oral fin (oral fin lowers your serum DHT, but what you care about is your scalp DHT, which is also lowered if your serum DHT is lowered for a long enough time, so topical is a more focussed solution because it targets scalp DHT primarily). But oral fin has more studies showing efficacy, so if you don't have sides on oral fin it's the safer option for keeping your hair I would suspect.

That may be the case, but for me, I know that losing my hair would damage my mental health way more. So I'm taking that risk.

nope ebcause its expensive and i need a prescription

How much does it cost in your country? For me it's 200 Euros per year.

Doesnt change facts that its a troon chemical that makes your dick not work. What the frick do you even need hair for when you are incapable of having sex. I guess you start having homosex with other men fricking your ass then.

My dick is working (for now?). I just tested it. I guess troons take it because a "woman" with male battern baldness looks even more moronic than a man with male pattern baldness. I don't know how much the other stuff they take lowers DHT production.

Finasteride is a medication that is primarily used in the treatment of male pattern baldness and benign prostatic hyperplasia. However, taking Finasteride can have several negative consequences, which can be categorized into physical, sexual, and psychological effects.

    Physical side effects may include:

Allergic reactions: Some individuals may experience an allergic reaction to the drug, which can manifest as rashes, hives, or difficulty breathing.

Gynecomastia: A small percentage of users may develop abnormal breast growth or enlarged breasts.

Swelling: Swelling in various parts of the body, such as the hands, feet, and face, may occur.

    Sexual side effects include:

Erectile dysfunction: Finasteride can cause difficulty in achieving or maintaining an erection, which can be a significant concern for many users.

Decreased libido: Some users may experience a decrease in sexual desire or interest.

Reduced ejaculate volume: Finasteride can lead to a reduction in the amount of semen produced during ejaculation.

    Psychological side effects:

Depression: There have been reports of Finasteride users experiencing depression, anxiety, and other mood disorders.

Suicidal thoughts: In rare cases, individuals may experience suicidal thoughts or behaviors

        >and you don't really need it if you are fully grown
Yes you do, you really really do:
        >Research has shown that 5α-reductase is the rate-limiting enzyme in neurosteroid synthesis, specifically in the conversion of progesterone to allopregnanolone, low levels of allopregnanolone has been tied to depression, anxiety and schizophrenia. Sleep deprivation can enhance 5α-reductase expression and activity in the prefrontal cortex, leading to mania-related symptoms in rats.

          Anonymous

This basically says that 5αR limits allopregnanolone production, and low levels of allopregnanolone is bad
          >low levels of allopregnanolone has been tied to depression, anxiety and schizophrenia
But fin is a 5αR inhibitor, so it would result in higher levels of allopregnanolone if 5αR is the thing that limits it in the first place.
          The study says
          >furthermore, finasteride (10–100mg/kg, IP) dose-dependently ameliorated PPI deficits, hyperactivity, and risk-taking behaviors, in a fashion akin to the antipsychotic haloperidol and the mood stabilizer lithium carbonate.
So fin is the cure in this case, and the problem is 5αR being too high (5αR converts test to DHT, so blocking 5αR with fin blocks DHT which causes balding).

What about taking fin at 30yo with NW3 ? Would it make me go back to NW2 for example ?

          Anonymous

Fin alone probably not. But staying at NW3 is still a lot better than balding any further. If you want a higher chance for regrowth, dutasteride may be an option (DHT blockers generally only regrow thinning areas, dutasteride more than finasteride). If the receded spots aren't completely bald, if there are baby hairs for example minoxidil + microneedling (together with fin of course) might bring you back to NW2, fin alone would be highly unlikely.
There are always hyper or nonresponders, so you might be lucky. Also NW3 is still easy to fix with a hair transplant.

      >spironolactone
i noticed a lot of drugs that promote hair growth also lower blood pressure. why is that? there must be some connection with high blood pressure and hair loss

Im not sure but i do know that in cases like spironolactone they were originally intended as blood pressure medication and the anti-androgen effects were an unintended side-effect

Why is a woman getting plastic surgery considering hiding their real self but men taking titty sprinkles because it'll stop their hair loss is okay?

My brother tried fin pretty early when he started balding and it didn't do shit, except maybe slow it down. So he gave up.
Joe Rogan went even more extreme, he tried min, fin, and had multiple hair transplants and he's still completely bald.
Seems like you're only prolonging the inevitable, and giving tens of thousands of dollars to swindlers selling you on hope.

joe rogan is also a steroid junkie so he’s a bad example. fin and minoxidil works well for most people
